Dust Capturing System

A dust capturing system for capturing airborne dust when a fan is turned on includes a fan that is coupled to a ceiling. The fan has a plurality of blades and the fan rotates the blades when the fan is turned on. A plurality of socks is provided and each of the socks is positioned around one of the blades. Thus, each of the socks may capture dust when the fan is turned on.

BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE Field of the Disclosure

The disclosure relates to capturing devices and more particularly pertains to a new capturing device for capturing airborne dust when a fan is turned on.

SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a fan that is coupled to a ceiling. The fan has a plurality of blades and the fan rotates the blades when the fan is turned on. A plurality of socks is provided and each of the socks is positioned around one of the blades. Thus, each of the socks may capture dust when the fan is turned on.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new capturing device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the dust capturing system 10 generally comprises a fan 12 that is coupled to a ceiling 14. The fan 12 has a plurality of blades 16 and each of the blades 16 has a distal end 18 with respect to the fan 12. The fan 12 rotates the blades 16 when the fan 12 is turned on. The fan 12 may comprise an electrical ceiling fan or the like.

A plurality of socks 20 is provided and each of the socks 20 is positioned around one of the blades 16. Thus, each of the socks 20 may capture airborne dust 22 when the fan 12 is turned on. Each of the socks 20 has a first end 24, a second end 26 and an outer wall 28 extending between the first end 24 and the second end 26. The first end 24 of each of the socks 20 is open and the first end 24 of each of the socks 20 insertably receives the distal end 18 of an associated one of the blades 16. Each of the socks 20 is positioned to substantially cover the associated blade 16. Each of the socks 20 may be comprised of a resiliently stretchable material such as nylon or the like such the each of the socks 20 frictionally engages the associated blade 16.

A plurality of elastic members 30 is provided. Each of the elastic members 30 is coupled to an associated one of the socks 20 and each of the elastic members 30 is coextensive with the first end 24 of the associated sock 20. Each of the elastic members 30 urges the first end 24 to frictionally engage the associated blade 16 thereby retaining each of the socks 20 on the associated blade 16.

In use, the socks 20 are positioned on the associated blade 16. The fan 12 is turned on to rotate the blades 16. The socks 20 capture the airborne dust 22 as the blades 16 are rotated. The socks 20 are removed from the blades 16 when the socks 20 become covered with airborne dust 22. Each of the socks 20 is cleaned and each of the socks 20 is positioned on the associated blade 16. The socks 20 inhibit the blades 16 from becoming covered with airborne dust 22 while the fan 12 is operated. Additionally, the socks 20 reduce an amount of airborne dust 22 by collecting the airborne dust 22 when the fan 12 is operated.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, system and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.

Claims

1. A dust capturing system comprising:

a fan being coupled to a ceiling, said fan having a plurality of blades, said fan rotating said blades when said fan is turned on; and
a plurality of socks, each of said socks being positioned around one of said blades wherein each of said socks is configured to capture dust when said fan is turned on.

2. The system according to claim 1, wherein each of said socks has a first end, a second end and an outer wall extending between said first end and said second end, said first end of each of said socks being open, said first end of each of said socks insertably receiving said distal end of an associated one of said blades, each of said socks being positioned to substantially cover said associated blade.

3. The system according to claim 1, further comprising:

each of said socks having a first end; and
a plurality of elastic members, each of said elastic members being coupled to an associated one of said socks, each of said elastic members being coextensive with said first end of said associated sock.

4. The system according to claim 3, wherein each of said elastic members urges said first end to frictionally engage said associated blade thereby retaining each of said socks on said associated blade.

5. A dust capturing system comprising:

a fan being coupled to a ceiling, said fan having a plurality of blades, each of said blades having a distal end with respect to said fan, said fan rotating said blades when said fan is turned on;
a plurality of socks, each of said socks being positioned around one of said blades wherein each of said socks is configured to capture dust when said fan is turned on, each of said socks having a first end, a second end and an outer wall extending between said first end and said second end, said first end of each of said socks being open, said first end of each of said socks insertably receiving said distal end of an associated one of said blades, each of said socks being positioned to substantially cover said associated blade; and
a plurality of elastic members, each of said elastic members being coupled to an associated one of said socks, each of said elastic members being coextensive with said first end of said associated sock, each of said elastic members urging said first end to frictionally engage said associated blade thereby retaining each of said socks on said associated blade.
