Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to concealment weaponry; more particularly, the present invention relates to firearms carried on and concealed in clothing.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

It has become apparent to many that state and local law enforcement are incapable of providing protection for everyone as police departments are overwhelmed with gang and domestic violence throughout many jurisdictions. Additionally, the ability to be on top of a violent situation is simply not possible because of the enormous and varied landscape of modern cities, suburbia and industrial zones. As a result, concealed carry laws have spread through various states in the Union in the hopes of providing personal protection for owners. Thus, various solutions to concealment of a firearm have been utilized but each of these suffers from various problems that need to be overcome.

For example, a typical waist holster sits between inner pants surface and the body or clothing (such as a shirt) of a user. As such, he or she is required to wear a jacket or loose fitting clothing to conceal the weapon. But in either case, the outline of the weapon can at times be visualized therethrough. Similarly, a shoulder holster can be seen thru a jacket that is worn to conceal its presence on the body.

Two other types of solutions are the ankle or body holster whereby a weapon is attached to the ankle or under an article of clothing such as under a shirt or pants. However, in the event of an incident, a user is not able to easily access his firearm to defend him or herself thereby drastically reducing the possibility of survival.

Accordingly, there needs to be some solution to overcome the aforementioned problems.

As used herein, the word “exemplary” or “illustrative” means “serving as an example, instance, or illustration.” Any implementation described herein as “exemplary” or “illustrative” is not necessarily to be construed as preferred or advantageous over other implementations. All of the implementations described below are exemplary implementations provided to enable persons skilled in the art to make or use the embodiments of the disclosure and are not intended to limit the scope of the disclosure, which is defined by the claims. For purposes of description herein, the terms “upper”, “lower”, “left”, “rear”, “right”, “front”, “vertical”, “horizontal”, and derivatives thereof shall relate to the invention as oriented in each figure. Furthermore, there is no intention to be bound by any expressed or implied theory presented in the preceding technical field, background, brief summary or the following detailed description. It is also to be understood that the specific devices and processes illustrated in the attached drawings, and described in the following specification, are simply exemplary embodiments of the inventive concepts defined in the appended claims. Hence, specific dimensions and other physical characteristics relating to the embodiments disclosed herein are not to be considered as limiting, unless the claims expressly state otherwise.

FIG. 1 presents a front elevation view of a concealed pocket material in an embodiment. A concealed pocket material 1 has a top side 1A, a left side 1B, a bottom side 1C and a right side 1D. The concealed pocket material is a manmade or natural material such as polyester, neoprene, cotton, linen, or similar materials. Attachment of the concealed pocket material 1 to the external surface of a pair of pants or shorts forms a space utilized to carry a firearm. The concealment of the weapon is facilitated by the addition of a padding material that prevents the aforementioned from being seen through the various materials associated therewith.

FIG. 2 presents a front elevation cross section view of some of the components of a Concealed Pocket Assembly with a gun stored therein in an embodiment. A pair of pants 3 or shorts has an ordinary external pocket 2 made from a textile material. This external pocket 2 has a right side 2A, a bottom side 2B and a left side 2C attached to the external surface of the pants or shorts 3 using glue, adhesives and or sewing. The top side 2D of the external pocket 2 is not attached to the external surface of the pants or shorts so as to create an opening 2F for the insertion of items therein. An optional flap 2E is attached along an edge to the external surface of the pants 3 or shorts.

A concealed pocket material 1 is attached using glue, adhesive and or sewing on its right and left sides and its bottom side to the external surface of the pants or shorts 3; additionally, a portion of the top side 1E of the concealed pocket material 1 is attached to the external surface of the pants or shorts. Thus, a small opening 1F is available for insertion of a gun 4 therein and prevention of the same from unwanted motion therein.

FIG. 3 presents a front elevation view of a foam filler pad in an embodiment. A foam filler pad 5 has a top side 5A, a left side 5B, a bottom side 5C, and a right side 5D.

FIG. 4 presents a front elevation view of a support material such as cotton, linen or other textile attached to a foam filler pad in an embodiment. A support material 6 has a top side 6A, a left side 6B, a bottom side 6C, and a right side 6D. This support material 6 has a foam filler pad 5 attached at its periphery using glue, sewing and or adhesives as shown such that the foam filler pad 5 is somewhat smaller than the support material.

FIG. 5 presents a front elevation view of some components of a Concealed Pocket

Assembly in an embodiment. This view eliminates the optional flap so that the external pocket mouth 2F can be clearly seen. The several layers of the Concealed Pocket Assembly are shown one on top of the other including the external surface of pants 3 or shorts, the foam filler pad 5, the support material 6, and the wall of the external pocket 2. The support material 6 and its associated foam filler pad 5 are attached using glue, sewing and or adhesives to either of the external surface of the pants 3 or shorts or alternatively to the external pocket 2 that itself is attached to the external surface of the pants 3 such that the foam filler pad 5 covers the area of the Concealed Pocket 1.

FIG. 6 presents a top view of the various layers of a Concealed Pocket Assembly in an embodiment. In this view, it is clear that the external surface of the pants here shown in top view 3A forms the basis of the entire device. The concealed pocket material 1A (top view) is attached thereto such that its entire boundary is attached by sewing, adhesives, glue and or heat treatment to the external surface of the pants except for a small opening 1F for insertion of a gun therein; in this view, a portion 1E of the top side 1A is to be attached to the external surface of the pants 3A whilst a portion 1F of the top side 1A is not, thereby forming an opening for insertion of the gun therein. This is followed by attachment of the foam filler pad 5A (top view) and the support material 6A at their respective peripheries to the inner surface of the external pocket material 2 (or to the surface of the pants 3A) thereby concealing the pocket 1 underneath. It should be apparent that the pad 5 and its support 6 cover the entire area of the pocket 1.

FIG. 7 presents a top view of the various layers of a Concealed Pocket Assembly in an embodiment showing how they are attached together in an embodiment thereof.

Final Considerations

It should be understood that the specific attachment schemes are replaceable with others. For example, the concealed pocket material 1 could alternatively be attached along with foam filler pad 5, support material 6 to the internal surface of pocket 2 material. Another alternative has the concealed pocket material 1 along with the foam filler pad 5 and its associated support material 6 attached to the external surface of the pants 3. In another alternative, the material 1 is attached to the external surface of pants 3 whilst foam filler pad 5 and support material 6 are attached to the internal surface of pocket 2 material. When discussing attachment schemes herein it should be understood that attachment refers to sewing, glue, adhesives and or heat treatments.

The above-described embodiments are merely exemplary illustrations of implementations set forth for a clear understanding of the principles of the invention. Many variations, combinations, modifications or equivalents may be substituted for elements thereof without departing from the scope of the invention. Therefore, it is understood that the invention will include all the embodiments falling within the scope of the appended claims.
