MAKE UP APPLICATOR WITH OPPOSITELY ATTACHED FLEXIBLE, NONPOROUS TIPS
A device and method for applying makeup to a user's face. To apply makeup, the user obtains a makeup application device. The makeup application device has a handle with two tip connectors connected to each end. Flexible, nonporous applicator tips are connected to each of the two tip connectors. The user then places makeup onto one of the applicator tips and then applies the makeup to her face. In a preferred embodiment the applicator tips are fabricated from hypoallergenic silicone and are used to apply lipstick and eyeliner primarily.
The present invention relates to makeup applicators, and in particular, to reusable makeup applicators for applying face makeup.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONFacial makeup is commonly applied to the faces of women throughout the world. Typically, lipstick is rubbed directly onto the lips. After repeated usage, the lipstick can become dirty or contaminated with bacteria. Also, some of the lipstick is invariably wasted as the user nears the end of the lipstick supply. Also, eyeliner is usually applied with brushes that may also can become dirty and contaminated, resulting in complications for the user.
Clay Sculpting ToolsClay sculpting tools are known. Clay sculpting tools may include a handle having silicone flexible tips that are used to mold and manipulate clay. These clay sculpting tools are commonly available. One such tool is purchased from Shanghai Joykey International Trading Co. with offices in China (part no. HB-DTCS0206).
The present invention provides a device and method for applying makeup to a user's face. To apply makeup, the user obtains a makeup application device. The makeup application device has a handle with two tip connectors connected to each end. Flexible, nonporous applicator tips are connected to each of the two tip connectors. The user then places makeup onto one of the applicator tips and then applies the makeup to her face. In a preferred embodiment the applicator tips are fabricated from hypoallergenic silicone and are used to apply lipstick and eyeliner primarily.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTSIn the present invention, Applicant has discovered that a clay sculpting tool having oppositely attached silicone tips may be used to apply makeup onto the face of a human being. Specifically, Applicant has discovered that lipstick and eyeliner may be very effectively applied to the face using the tool described above in the background section that is sold for the specific purpose of sculpting clay.
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, silicone tip 8 includes cupped bevel 9.
Also, in the preferred embodiment of the present invention, silicone tip 7 includes flat bevels 15 and 16 and contoured section 17. Contoured section 17 is preferably rounded as shown.

Applicator 1 is optimum for blending, smudging and more. It is also exceptional for special effects makeup because material does not will stick to the silicone. With a 99% alcohol solution applicator 1 will be sanitized and sterilized to eliminate dry time so it can be immediately used for the next client.
Other Advantages and Benefits of the Makeup ApplicatorThere are many advantages of the utilization of makeup applicator 1 over prior art applicator devices. Silicone tips 7 and 8 are strong and flexible and are good for smudging and blending the makeup. Silicone tips 7 and 8 keep their shape despite repeated usages. Makeup applicator 1 is easy to clean by wiping with an alcohol based cleaning solution for disinfection. It may then be repeatedly used by a single client or amongst multiple clients. The silicone tips are nonporous and there is negligible drying time after the tips are cleaned. The silicone tips are hypoallergenic and therefore extremely safe and practical for widespread usage.
While the present invention has been described in terms of preferred embodiments, the reader should consider these described embodiments only as particular embodiments. Many other embodiments are possible. Therefore, the reader should determine the scope of the present invention by the claims and their legal equivalents.
Claims
1) A makeup application device, comprising:
- A) a rod shaped handle,
- B) a plurality of tip connectors connected to each end of said handle,
- C) a first flexible, bevel-shaped nonporous makeup applicator tip connected to one of said tip connectors,
- D) a second flexible, bevel shaped nonporous makeup applicator tip connected to the other of said tip connectors,
- wherein said makeup application device is utilized to apply makeup to a user's face.
2) The makeup application device as in claim 1 wherein said handle is a wood handle, having a length between 3 inches and 9 inches and a diameter of less than ½ inch.
3) The makeup application device as in claim 1 wherein said tip connectors are aluminum tip connectors crimped to said handle.
4) The makeup application device as in claim 1 wherein said first and second applicator tips are silicone applicator tips.
5) The makeup application device as in claim 1, wherein said first applicator tip comprises a cupped bevel and is utilized for the application of lipstick.
6) The makeup application device as in claim 1, wherein said second applicator tip comprises two flat bevels and a rounded contoured section and is utilized for the application of eyeliner.
7) The makeup application device as in claim 1, wherein said first applicator tip comprises a cupped bevel and is utilized for the application of lipstick and wherein said second applicator tip comprises two flat bevels and a rounded contoured section and is utilized for the application of eyeliner.
8) A method for applying makeup to a user's face, comprising the steps of:
- A) Obtaining a makeup application device, said makeup application device comprising: a. a handle, b. a plurality of tip connectors connected to each end of said handle, c. a first flexible, nonporous makeup applicator tip connected to one of said tip connectors, d. a second flexible, nonporous makeup applicator tip connected to the other of said tip connectors,
- B) placing makeup onto at least one of said applicator tips, and
- C) applying the makeup to the user's face.
9) The method as in claim 8, wherein said handle is a wood handle.
10) The method as in claim 8, wherein said tip connectors are aluminum tip connectors crimped to said handle.
11) The method as in claim 8, wherein said first and second applicator tips are silicone applicator tips.
12) The makeup application device as in claim 1, wherein said first applicator tip comprises a cupped bevel and is utilized for the application of lipstick.
13) The method as in claim 8, wherein said second applicator tip comprises two flat bevels and a rounded contoured section and is utilized for the application of eyeliner.
14) The method as in claim 8, wherein said first applicator tip comprises a cupped bevel and is utilized for the application of lipstick and wherein said second applicator tip comprises two flat bevels and a rounded contoured section and is utilized for the application of eyeliner.
