Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to throwing trap technology and more particularly, to a throwing arm for throwing trap, which has a simple structure and facilitates installation, and, which avoids injury upon an accidental impact.

2. Description of the Related Art

A throwing trap generally comprise a drive shaft having a connection rack, a throwing arm consisting of a holding target plate and a push force plate and affixed to the connection rack of the drive shaft for holding a clay and throwing the clay by means of centrifugal force. Thus, the user can shoot the flying clay, proceeding with shooting training. However, because the holding target plate and push force plate of the throwing arm are made of metal, any person moving into the swinging range of the throwing arm during operation accidentally can be injured by the swinging throwing arm. A soft or flexible plastic material can be selected for making a throwing arm to avoid accidental injury; however, a throwing arm made by a soft or flexible plastic material has low rigidity, and is unable to throw the loaded clay far away as expected.

FIGS. 1 and 2 illustrate a throwing arm 4 according to the prior art. According to this design, the throwing arm 4 comprises an aluminum base plate 41 and an aluminum holding target plate 42 affixed together with fastening members 61,62,63, a track 43, and a shock absorber strip 44 attached to the track 43 and affixed with the track 43 to the aluminum base plate 41 with fastening members 64,65,66. The aluminum base plate 41 has a plurality of mounting holes 411,412,413 affixed to a connection rack of a drive shaft of a throwing trap (not shown) with fastening members (not shown). Thus, when the drive shaft of the throwing trap is driven to turn the throwing arm 4, the clay (not shown) at the aluminum holding target plate 42 can be thrown away by means of centrifugal force so that the user can shoot the clay, proceeding with shooting training. However, this prior art design of throwing arm 4 still has drawbacks as follows:

1. Throwing traps are widely used in countries open for hunting as well as other countries for athletic and military training applications. If the user or any other adult or child enters the swinging range of the throwing arm 4 for the purpose of adjustment or repair, or for no reason, the user, adult or child can be hit by the swinging aluminum throwing arm 4, causing injury.

2. This prior art design of throwing arm has a complicated structure consisting of a large number of component parts, complicating installation and increasing the cost. During installation, it needs to accurately insert the shock absorber strip 44 into the track 43, and then affix the shock absorber strip 44 with the track 43 to mounting holes 416 at an upper vertical wall 414 of the aluminum base plate 41 by fastening members 64,65,66, and then affix the aluminum holding target plate 42 to mounting holes (not shown) at a lower vertical wall 415 of the aluminum base plate 41 by fastening members 61,62,63.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is the main object of the present invention to provide a throwing trap for throwing arm, which comprises a holding target plate, a push force plate perpendicularly upwardly extended along a rear side of the holding target plate, a shock absorber strip, and a rigid metal support strip affixed to the push force plate to support the shock absorber strip on the push force plate and to enhance the rigidity and strength of the throwing arm. The holding target plate and the push force plate are integrally made from a plastic material in one piece by injection molding, avoiding injury upon an accidental impact.

Further, the throwing arm has a simple structure and facilitates installation. The rigid metal support strip and the shock absorber strip can be affixed to the push force plate of the throwing arm at a time, saving labor and time and lowering the cost

FIG. 2 is an oblique top elevational view of the throwing arm according to the prior art.

FIG. 3 is a schematic elevational view, illustrating a throwing arm installed in a throwing trap in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention

FIG. 4 is an exploded view of the throwing arm in accordance with the first embodiment of the present invention.

FIG. 5 is an oblique top elevational view of the throwing arm in accordance with the first embodiment of the present invention.

FIG. 6 is an oblique top elevational view of a throwing arm for throwing trap in accordance with a second embodiment of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to FIGS. 1-5, a throwing arm for throwing tap in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention is shown. The throwing arm 1 (see FIG. 3 and FIG. 4) comprises a holding target plate 11 and a push force plate 12. The holding target plate 11 comprises a clay holding area 111 defined at one end thereof for holding a clay (target) 8, and a plurality of mounting holes 112 (see FIG. 4) located in an opposite end thereof and affixed to a connection rack (not shown) of a drive shaft (not shown) of a throwing trap 3 with fastening members 10 (see FIG. 3). The push force plate 12 is a wall plate perpendicularly upwardly extended along a rear side of the holding target plate 11. Further, a shock absorber strip 13, for example, shock-absorbing rubber strip or shock-absorbing silicon rubber strip is fastened to the push force plate 12 with second fastening members 15. Thus, when the drive shaft of the throwing trap 3 is driven to turn the throwing arm 1, the clay 8 at the clay holding area 111 of the holding target plate 11 can be thrown out by the push force plate 12 by means of centrifugal force so that the user can shoot the clay 8, proceeding with shooting training.

The invention is characterized in that:

The holding target plate 11 and push force plate 12 of the throwing arm 1 are integrally made from a plastic material in one piece by injection molding. Further, a rigid metal support strip 14 is affixed to the push force plate 12 to support the shock absorber strip 13, enhancing the rigidity and strength of the throwing arm 1 without affecting its clay throwing range. Because the throwing arm 1 is integrally made from a plastic material in one piece by injection molding, the invention avoids injury upon an accidental impact.

Further, the rigid metal support strip 14 and the shock absorber strip 13 are put together and affixed to the push force plate 12 of the throwing arm 1 by the aforesaid second fastening members 15.

Referring to FIG. 6, a throwing arm 1′ in accordance with a second embodiment of the present invention is shown. This second embodiment is substantially similar to the aforesaid first embodiment with the exception that the elevation of the push force plate 12′ in this second embodiment is relatively lower; the rigid metal support strip 14′ has a relatively higher one side; the elevation of the holding target plate 11′ remains unchanged; the elevation of the shock absorber strip 13′ in the holding target plate 11′ is relatively lowered when compared to the aforesaid first embodiment. Other features of this second embodiment are same as that of the aforesaid first embodiment, and therefore, no further detailed description in this regard will be necessary.

In conclusion, the invention has the advantages and effects as follows:

1. The rigid metal support strip 14 enhances the rigidity and strength of the throwing arm 1 without affecting its clay throwing range. Further, the holding target plate 11 and push force plate 12 of the throwing arm 1 are integrally made from a plastic material in one piece by injection molding, avoiding injury upon an accidental impact.

2. The throwing arm has a simple structure and facilitates installation. When compared to the prior art design, the invention eliminates a track. The rigid metal support strip 14 and the shock absorber strip 13 can be affixed to the push force plate 12 of the throwing arm 1 at a time, saving labor and time and lowering the cost

3. The holding target plate 11 and push force plate 12 of the throwing arm 1 are integrally made from a plastic material in one piece by injection molding, facilitating fabrication, simplifying installation and saving the cost.
