Cosmetic Application Assembly

Abstract

A cosmetic application assembly includes a holder that has a handle portion and a head portion. The handle portion may be manipulated such that the head portion is positioned to abut a user's face. A plurality of applicators is provided and each of the applicators may have a cosmetic compound applied thereto. A selected one of the applicators is removably coupled to the head portion. Thus, the selected applicator may apply the cosmetic compound to the user's face when the handle portion is manipulated. A case is provided and the holder and each of the applicators is stored therein when the holder and each of the applicators is not in use.

BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE

Field of the Disclosure

The disclosure relates to application devices and more particularly pertains to a new application device for applying facial makeup.

SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a holder that has a handle portion and a head portion. The handle portion may be manipulated such that the head portion is positioned to abut a user's face. A plurality of applicators is provided and each of the applicators may have a cosmetic compound applied thereto. A selected one of the applicators is removably coupled to the head portion. Thus, the selected applicator may apply the cosmetic compound to the user's face when the handle portion is manipulated. A case is provided and the holder and each of the applicators is stored therein when the holder and each of the applicators is not in use.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new application device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 4, the cosmetic application assembly 10 generally comprises a holder 12 that has a handle portion 14 and a head portion 16. The handle portion 14 may be manipulated such that the head portion 16 is positioned to abut a user's face. The handle portion 14 comprises a first end 18, a second end 20 and an outer surface 22 extending between the first end 18 and the second end 20. The handle portion 14 is elongated between the first end 18 and the second end 20 and the outer surface 22 is curved such that the handle portion 14 has a substantially cylindrical shape.

The handle portion 14 is curved proximate the second end 20 to define a first section 24 and a second section 26 of the handle portion 14. The first section 24 of the handle portion 14 has a diameter that is greater than a diameter of the second section 26 of the handle portion 14. A pair of grips 28 is provided and each of the grips 28 is coupled to the handle portion 14. Each of the grips 28 is positioned on opposite sides of the outer surface 22. Thus, each of the grips 28 enhances a grip of the handle portion 14 and each of the grips 28 extends substantially along the first section 24.

The head portion 16 comprises a first surface 30, a second surface 32 and a peripheral surface 34 extending between the first surface 30 and the second surface 32. The first surface 30 is coupled to the first end 18 of the handle portion 14 and the second surface 32 has a well 36 extending inwardly therein. The well 36 is centrally positioned on the second surface 32 and the well 36 has a lateral bounding surface 38 and a basal bounding surface 40. The lateral bounding surface 38 tapers inwardly between the second surface 32 and the basal bounding surface 40.

A plurality of applicators 42 is provided and each of the applicators 42 may have a cosmetic compound 44 applied thereto. The cosmetic compound 44 may comprise makeup of any conventional design. A selected one of the applicators 42 is removably coupled to the head portion 16. Thus, the selected applicator 42 may apply the cosmetic compound 44 to the user's face when the handle portion 14 is manipulated.

Each of the applicators 42 comprises a disk 46 that has a primary surface 48, a secondary surface 50 and a perimeter edge 52 extending between the primary surface 48 and the secondary surface 50. A fastener 54 is provided that has a shaft 56 and a head 58. The shaft 56 is coupled to the secondary surface 50 such that the head 58 is spaced from the secondary surface 50. The head 58 has a distal end 60 with respect to the secondary surface 50 and the head 58 has a diameter that is greater than a diameter of the shaft 56.

The head 58 tapers inwardly between the shaft 56 and the distal end 60 and the head 58 has an exterior surface 62. The fastener 54 is inserted into the well 36 when the selected applicator 42 is coupled to the head portion 16. The exterior surface 62 frictionally engages the lateral bounding surface 38 of the well 36 when the fastener 54 is inserted into the well 36. Thus, the selected applicator 42 is removably retained on the head portion 16.

A pad 64 is coupled to the primary surface 48 and the pad 64 substantially covers the primary surface 48. The pad 64 has a distal surface 66 with respect to the primary surface 48 and the distal surface 66 may have the cosmetic compound 44 applied thereto. The distal surface 66 may abut the user's face when the handle portion 14 is manipulated. Thus, the cosmetic compound 44 may to be applied to the user's face.

A case 68 is provided and the case 68 has the holder 12 and each of the applicators 42 being stored therein when the holder 12 and each of the applicators 42 is not in use. The case 68 has a body 70 and a lid 72 that is hingedly coupled to the body 70. The body 70 has a lower wall 74 and a peripheral wall 76 extending away from the lower wall 74. The peripheral wall 76 has a distal edge 78 with respect to the lower wall 74 and the peripheral wall 76 has a back side 80.

The lid 72 has an upper wall 82 and a perimeter wall 84 extending away from the upper wall 82. The perimeter wall 84 has a distal edge 86 with respect to the upper wall 82 and the perimeter wall 84 has a back side 88. The back side 88 of the perimeter wall 84 is hingedly coupled to the back side 80 of the peripheral wall 76. The lid 72 is positionable in a closed position having the distal edge 86 of the lid 72 abutting the distal edge 78 of the body 70. The lid 72 is positionable in an open position having the distal edge 86 of the lid 72 being spaced from the distal edge 78 of the body 70.

In use, a selected one of the applicators 42 is removably coupled to the head portion 16 of the holder 12. The cosmetic compound 44 is applied to the distal surface 66 of the pad 64. The handle portion 14 is gripped and the holder 12 is manipulated to apply the cosmetic compound 44 to the user's face. The holder 12 and each of the applicators 42 are stored within the case 68.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suifastenerle modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.

Claims

1. A cosmetic application assembly comprising:

a holder having a handle portion and a head portion, said handle portion being configured to be manipulated such that said head portion is positioned to abut a user's face;

a plurality of applicators, each of said applicators being configured to have a cosmetic compound applied thereto, a selected one of said applicators being removably coupled to said head portion wherein said selected applicator is configured to apply the cosmetic compound to the user's face when said handle portion is manipulated; and

a case having said holder and each of said applicators being stored therein when said holder and each of said applicators is not in use.

2. The assembly according to claim 1, wherein said handle portion comprises a first end, a second end and an outer surface extending between said first end and said second end, said handle portion being elongated between said first end and said second end, said outer surface being curved such that said handle portion has a substantially cylindrical shape.

The assembly according to claim 2, wherein said handle portion is curved proximate said second end to define a first section and a second section of said handle portion, said first section of said handle portion having a diameter being greater than a diameter of said second section of said handle portion.

4. The assembly according to claim 3, further comprising a pair of grips, each of said grips being coupled to said handle portion, each of said grips being positioned on opposite sides of said outer surface wherein each of said grips is configured to enhance a grip of said handle portion, each of said grips extending substantially along said first section.

5. The assembly according to claim 1, wherein:

said handle portion has a first end; and

said head portion comprises a first surface, a second surface and a peripheral surface extending between said first surface and said second surface, said first surface being coupled to said first end of said handle portion.

The assembly according to claim 5, wherein said second surface has a well extending inwardly therein, said well being centrally positioned on said second surface, said well having a lateral bounding surface and a basal bounding surface, said lateral bounding surface tapering inwardly between said second surface and said basal bounding surface.

7. The assembly according to claim 1, wherein each of said applicators comprises a disk having a primary surface, a secondary surface and a perimeter edge extending between said primary surface and said secondary surface.

8. The assembly according to claim 7, wherein each of said applicators further comprises a fastener having a shaft and a head, said shaft being coupled to said secondary surface such that said head is spaced from said secondary surface, said head having a distal end with respect to said secondary surface, said head having a diameter being greater than a diameter of said shaft, said head tapering inwardly between said shaft and said distal end, said head having an exterior surface.

9. The assembly according to claim 8, wherein:

said head portion has a well, said well having a lateral bounding surface; and

said fastener is inserted into said well when said selected applicator is coupled to said head portion, said exterior surface frictionally engaging said lateral bounding surface such that said selected applicator is removably retained on said head portion.

10. The assembly according to claim 7, wherein each of said applicators further comprises a pad being coupled to said primary surface, said pad substantially covering said primary surface, said pad having a distal surface with respect to said primary surface, said distal surface being configured to have the cosmetic compound applied thereto, said distal surface being configured to abut the user's face when said handle portion is manipulated thereby facilitating the cosmetic compound to be applied to the user's face.

The assembly according to claim 1, wherein said case has a body and a lid being hingedly coupled to said body, said body having a lower wall and a peripheral wall being extending away from said lower wall, said peripheral wall having a distal edge with respect to said lower wall, said peripheral wall having a back side.

12. The assembly according to claim 11, wherein said lid has an upper wall and a perimeter wall extending away from said upper wall, said perimeter wall having a distal edge with respect to said upper wall, said perimeter wall having a back side.

13. The assembly according to claim 12, wherein said back side of said perimeter wall is hingedly coupled to said back side of said peripheral wall, said lid being positionable in a closed position having said distal edge of said peripheral wall abutting said distal edge of said perimeter wall, said lid being positionable in an open position having said distal edge of said peripheral wall being spaced from said distal edge of said perimeter wall.

14. A cosmetic application assembly comprising:

a holder having a handle portion and a head portion, said handle portion being configured to be manipulated such that said head portion is positioned to abut a user's face, said handle portion comprising: a first end, a second end and an outer surface extending between said first end and said second end, said handle portion being elongated between said first end and said second end, said outer surface being curved such that said handle portion has a substantially cylindrical shape, said handle portion being curved proximate said second end to define a first section and a second section of said handle portion, said first section of said handle portion having a diameter being greater than a diameter of said second section of said handle portion, and a pair of grips, each of said grips being coupled to said handle portion, each of said grips being positioned on opposite sides of said outer surface wherein each of said grips is configured to enhance a grip of said handle portion, each of said grips extending substantially along said first section;

said head portion comprising a first surface, a second surface and a peripheral surface extending between said first surface and said second surface, said first surface being coupled to said first end of said handle portion, said second surface having a well extending inwardly therein, said well being centrally positioned on said second surface, said well having a lateral bounding surface and a basal bounding surface, said lateral bounding surface tapering inwardly between said second surface and said basal bounding surface;

a plurality of applicators, each of said applicators being configured to have a cosmetic compound applied thereto, a selected one of said applicators being removably coupled to said head portion wherein said selected applicator is configured to apply the cosmetic compound to the user's face when said handle portion is manipulated, each of said applicators comprising: a disk having a primary surface, a secondary surface and a perimeter edge extending between said primary surface and said secondary surface, a fastener having a shaft and a head, said shaft being coupled to said secondary surface such that said head is spaced from said secondary surface, said head having a distal end with respect to said secondary surface, said head having a diameter being greater than a diameter of said shaft, said head tapering inwardly between said shaft and said distal end, said head having an exterior surface, said fastener being inserted into said well when said selected applicator is coupled to said head portion, said exterior surface frictionally engaging said lateral bounding surface such that said selected applicator is removably retained on said head portion, and a pad being coupled to said primary surface, said pad substantially covering said primary surface, said pad having a distal surface with respect to said primary surface, said distal surface being configured to have the cosmetic compound applied thereto, said distal surface being configured to abut the user's face when said handle portion is manipulated thereby facilitating the cosmetic compound to be applied to the user's face; and

a case having said holder and each of said applicators being stored therein when said holder and each of said applicators is not in use, said case having a body and a lid being hingedly coupled to said body, said body having a lower wall and a peripheral wall being extending away from said lower wall, said peripheral wall having a distal edge with respect to said lower wall, said peripheral wall having a back side, said lid having an upper wall and a perimeter wall extending away from said upper wall, said perimeter wall having a distal edge with respect to said upper wall, said perimeter wall having a back side, said back side of said perimeter wall being hingedly coupled to said back side of said peripheral wall, said lid being positionable in a closed position having said distal edge of said peripheral wall abutting said distal edge of said perimeter wall, said lid being positionable in an open position having said distal edge of said peripheral wall being spaced from said distal edge of said perimeter wall.
