A carrier device used to transport and store cushions comprising: a carrier comprised of plastic film with at least one opening for placing one or more cushions into the carrier; a device for closing the carrier once the cushions are placed inside; a self-attached strap that is attached to the carrier; and an attachment device for attaching the self-attached strap to the carrier.

This application claims priority to provisional application Ser. No. 62/284,541 filed Oct. 2, 2015.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a carrier used to store and transport cushions, the carrier comprising a plastic material and a strap.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

U.S. Pat. No. 8,650,687 relates to a method for reducing a cushion footprint for long term storage may include a foam core into a plastic cover, subsequently applying a vacuum to the plastic cover and sealing the plastic cover and its contents. The invention relates to a system and method for providing cushions and mattresses in a compressed state for an extended period of time.

US patent publication 20110101757 relates to outdoor furniture that protects cushions from the elements via an internal mechanism and resin waterproof compartment.

US patent publication 20140157518 relates to a method for reducing a cushion for long-term storage that may include inserting a foam core into a plastic cover, subsequently applying a vacuum to the plastic cover, and sealing the plastic cover and its contents. The invention relates to a system and method for providing cushions and/or mattresses in a compressed state for an extended period of time.

Cushions are normally stored in a garage basement, oversized storage bin or outdoor shed. Storing cushions in a large cushion storage device take up a lot of space. Improperly stored cushions can retain moisture and end up growing mold, as well as developing a musty odor.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a carrier device used to transport and store cushions. The carrier is made from a plastic film with at least one opening for placing the cushions into the carrier. The carrier is closed once the cushions are placed inside. It is an object of the present invention for the plastic film to be made from a blend of resins. It is an object of the present invention for the blend of resins to include some recycled plastic. It is an object of the present invention for the blend of resins to not include any recycled plastic. It is an object of the present invention for the carrier device to comprise polyethylene. The carrier includes a self-attached strap that is placed on the carrier. It is an object of the present invention to attach the strap to the carrier by plastic grommets, reinforced holes, snaps, or an adhesive backed attachment. It is an object of the present invention for the carrier with the strap to be slung over a person's shoulders or picked up by a person's hands to carry and transport the cushions from one place to another. It is an object of the present invention for the strap to go around the entire width or length of the bag to secure its contents. It is an object of the present invention for the carrier to have printing in the form of advertising on it. It is an object of the present invention for the carrier to be printed with color graphics on both sides providing a better consumer experience.

It is an object of the present invention for the device to be sealed at one end.

It is an object of the present invention for the device to be made of a vented plastic film.

It is an object of the present invention to have vent holes in any or all of the compartments.

It is an object of the present invention for the thickness of the plastic film material to be approximately 2.0 mil to 5.0 mil in thickness.

It is an object of the present invention for the storage carrier to be approximately 60″ to 70″ in width, for each compartment itself to have a height of approximately 12″ to 30″, and for the length of the carrier device to be approximately 80″-100″.

It is an object of the present invention for the carrier to have an antimicrobial and/or antifungal treatment.

It is an object of the present invention for the carrier to comprise a single compartment. It is an object of the present invention for the carrier to have a single compartment large enough so that multiple cushions can fit within the single compartment. It is an object of the present invention for the carrier to comprise at least two compartments, so that cushions can be stored separately, and a single cushion can be removed from the carrier without disturbing the contents of another compartment. It is an object of the present invention for the compartments to be held together by a heat seal/weld. It is an object of the present invention for at least one of the compartments to have an opening through the plastic.

It is an object of the present invention for the carrier to be used to transport and store dry cushions inside a basement, shed, garage, or other indoor location. It is an object of the present invention for the carrier to help transport and store cushions protecting them against dirt, debris, mold, insects, stains, and liquids.

It is an object of the present invention for the self-attached strap to be used to hang the carrier while in storage to help keep the cushions off of the ground.

It is an object of the present invention for the carrier to be used to transport and store pillows, blankets, linens, comforters, clothes, coats, and other types of soft goods.

It is an object of the present invention for the carrier to be used to protect baby cradles or other types of furniture stored in attics, basements, or other indoor storage areas.

It is an object of the present invention for the cushions to be stored in a device that does not take up a lot of space.

It is an object of the present invention for the cushions that are stored in the device not to get moist or musty.

It is an object of the present invention for the strap to surround one or more compartments.

It is an object of the present invention for each compartment of the carrier device to have vent holes such as butterfly vent holes.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

FIG. 1 shows the carrier device 10 having a carrier 12 which is attached to a strap 14 having attachment devices 16 and 18 and a cushion 20 that is placed into the carrier 12 for moving and storage.

FIG. 2 shows the strap 14 having the attachment devices 16 and 18.

FIG. 3 shows the strap 14 having attachment devices 16 and 18.

FIG. 4 shows the carrier 12.

FIG. 5 shows the carrier device 30 having a carrier 32 having two separate compartments 34 and 36 which is attached to a strap 38 having attachment devices 40 and 42.

FIG. 6 shows the carrier device 30 having a carrier 32 having two separate compartments 34 and 36 and a strap 38 having attachment devices 40 and 42. The strap 38 surrounds both compartments 34 and 36.

FIG. 7 shows the carrier 50 having two separate compartments 52 and 54 held together by heat seal/weld 60. Compartments 52 and 54 each have vent holes 56 and 58 respectively.

FIG. 8 shows the carrier 70 having two separate compartments 72 and 74 held together by a middle seal 76. The compartment 70 has two open ends 78 and 80 and two sealed ends 82 and 84. The carrier 70 has butterfly vent holes 86 and 88. The carrier 70 has a width A which is divided between widths B and C. Compartment 78 has a height D and compartment 80 has a height E. The carrier device has a length F.

Claims

1. A carrier device used to transport and store cushions comprising:

a carrier comprised of a plastic film with at least one opening for placing one or more cushions into said carrier;
a device for closing the carrier once said cushions are placed inside;
a self-attached strap that is attached to said carrier;
an attachment device for attaching said self-attached strap to said carrier.

2. The carrier device of claim 1 wherein said plastic film is made from a blend of resins including recycled plastic.

3. The carrier device of claim 1 wherein said attachment device comprises plastic grommets, reinforced holes, snaps, or an adhesive backed attachment.

4. The carrier device of claim 1 wherein said carrier device is slung over a person's shoulders or picked up by a person's hands to carry and transport said cushions from one place to another.

5. The carrier device of claim 1 wherein said strap goes around entire width or length of said carrier to secure its contents.

6. The carrier device of claim 1 further comprising printing with color graphics.

7. The carrier device of claim 1 wherein said carrier comprises at least two compartments, so that said cushions are stored separately, and a single cushion is removed from said carrier without disturbing contents of another compartment.

8. The carrier device of claim 1 wherein said carrier comprises a single compartment large enough so that multiple cushions fit within said single compartment.

9. The carrier device of claim 1 wherein said carrier is used to transport and store and keep dry said cushions for storage inside a basement, shed, garage, or other indoor location.

10. The carrier device of claim 1 wherein said carrier transports cushions and protects against dirt, debris, mold, insects, stains, and liquids during storage.

11. The carrier device of claim 1 wherein said self-attached strap is used to hang said carrier while in storage to keep said cushions off of ground.

12. The carrier device of claim 1 wherein said carrier is used for pillows, blankets, linens, comforters, clothes, coats, and other types of soft home goods.

13. The carrier of claim 1 wherein said carrier is used to protect baby cradles or other types of furniture stored in attics, basements, or other indoor storage areas.

14. The carrier device of claim 7 further comprising a heat seal/weld between said compartments.

15. The carrier device of claim 1 wherein said device is sealed at one end.

16. The carrier device of claim 1 wherein said plastic film is made of a vented plastic film.

17. The carrier device of claim 7 wherein each of said compartments has vent holes.

18. The carrier device of claim 1 wherein said plastic film has a thickness of approximately 2.5 mil to 3.5 mil.

19. The carrier device of claim 7 wherein said carrier device is approximately 60″ to 70″ in width, for each compartment itself a height of approximately 12″ to 30″ and a length for the carrier to be approximately 80″ to 100″.

20. The carrier device of clam 1 wherein said carrier device is treated with an antimicrobial or antifungal treatment.

21. The carrier device of claim 1 wherein said strap is used to hang said carrier to keep it off the ground.

22. A carrier device for cushions comprising:

a carrier comprised of plastic film having two separate compartments held together by a middle seal;
said compartments each having an open end and a sealed end;
said compartments each having vent holes.
