DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new handheld vacuum device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the small portable handheld vacuum device 10 generally comprises a housing 12. The housing has a wall 14, a first end 16, and a second end 18 that define an interior space 20 within the housing 12. The second end 18 is open and reduced. The wall 14 is cylindrical. The second end 18 comprises a sleeve 22, a reduction cone 24 and a nozzle 26. The housing 12 comprises a plurality of couplable sections 28. The plurality of couplable sections 28 comprises a suction section 30, a collection section 32 and an operative section 34. The plurality of couplable sections 28 is threadedly couplable, wherein the suction section 30 and the operative section 34 can be threadedly coupled to opposing ends 36 of the collection section 32. The collection section 32 is transparent. The housing 12 has a length 38 measured from the first end 16 to the second end 18. The length 38 is between 15 and 25 centimeters. Preferably the length 38 is between 17 and 23 centimeters. More preferably, the length 38 is between 19 and 21 centimeters. The housing 12 has a width 40 that is between 2.25 and 8 centimeters. Preferably, the width 40 is between 2.75 and 6 centimeters. More preferably, the width 40 is between 3.25 and 4.25 centimeters.

A cap 42 is coupled to the first end 16 of the housing 12. The cap 42 has a plurality of apertures 44. The apertures are round and arrayed in parallel rows.

A partition 46 is coupled to the wall 14. The partition 46 is positioned in the interior space 20 of the housing 12 and defines a compartment 48 within the housing 12. A motor 50 is coupled to and positioned in the compartment 48. The motor 50 has a shaft end 52 that extends through the partition 46. A fan 54 is coupled to the shaft end 52. A power module 56 is coupled to and positioned in the compartment 48. The power module 56 is operationally coupled to the motor 50. The power module 56 comprises at least one battery 58.

A screen 60 is coupled to the wall 14. The screen 60 is positioned in the interior space 20 of the housing 12 between the fan 54 and the second end 18 and defines a chamber 62 within the housing 12. A filter 64 is frictionally coupled to the wall 14 between the screen 60 and the fan 54. A plurality of outlets 66 is positioned in the wall 14 of the housing 12 between the partition 46 and the screen 60. The outlets 66 are rectangular.

A switch 68 is positioned in the cap 42. The switch 68 is operationally coupled to the power module 56 and the motor 50. A hinge 70 is coupled to the cap 42 and the wall 14 proximate to the first end 16. A lock 72 is positioned is the wall 14 opposite the hinge 70. The lock 72 is complimentary to a pin 74 coupled to the cap 42. The lock 72 has a release button 76 capable of disengaging the pin 74 from the lock 72.

The device 10 also includes a plurality of attachments 78. The plurality of attachments 78 comprises a connector 80, a pipe 82, and a sweep 84. The connector 80 is hollow and has a male end 86 and a female end 88. The female end 88 is frictionally attachable to the second end 18 of the housing 12. The connector 80 comprises a plurality of nested sections 90, such that the connector 80 is telescopic. The plurality of nested sections 90 comprises an outer section 92 and an inner section 94. The connector 80 is cylindrical.

The pipe 82 has a first terminus 96 and a second terminus 98. The first terminus 96 is frictionally attachable to the second end 18 of the housing 12 and the inner section 94 of the connector 80. The second terminus 98 comprises a plurality of bristles 100. The second terminus 98 is oblique to an axis 102 of the pipe 82. The bristles 100 are selected from the group of textures consisting of soft and stiff.

The sweep 84 has an adapter 104 coupled to a box 106. The adapter 104 has an open end 108 that is frictionally attachable to the second end 18 of the housing 12 and the inner section 94 of the connector 80. The box 106 has an open face 110 opposite the adapter 104. The box 106 is rectangular with a short side 112 and an opposing long side 114.

In use, the power module 56 is configured to power the motor 50 to turn the fan 54, thereby causing air to be drawn into the chamber 62 through the second end 18 of the housing 12. The air then passes through the screen 60, by which particles are retained in the chamber 62. The air then exits the interior space 20 through the plurality of outlets 66.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
