Bidet-O-Let

A combination toilet and bidet is disclosed. Water is supplied to a spray nozzle disposed in a toilet bowl from the main water supply line by way of a tee fitting. The water passes through a vacuum breaker where it is thereafter supplied to the spray nozzle by operation of a manual control valve. The spray nozzle is disposed in the toilet bowl such that flushing of the toilet cleans the spray nozzle.

Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The invention relates to a combination toilet and bidet. Specifically, the toilet has a built in bidet.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A bidet is a plumbing fixture that is installed as a separate unit in the bathroom besides a toilet, shower and sink. Some bidets resemble a large hand basin, with taps and a stopper so they can be filled up; other designs have a nozzle that squirts a jet of water to aid in cleansing. A bidet is intended for washing the genitalia, perineum, inner buttocks, and anus of the human body, and is typically installed in a bathroom.

In the past, getting a bidet typically meant installing a completely new unit in the bathroom. Today bidets are not necessarily standalone units. A bidet may be a nozzle attached to an existing toilet, or a part of the toilet itself. In this case, its use is restricted to cleaning the anus and genitals. Some bidets of this type have the one nozzle on the side rim, or two nozzles on the back rim, a shorter one and a longer one.

Combined toilets or bidet attachments are often controlled either mechanically or electronically with a remote control rather than with a traditional tap. There are models that have a heating element which blows warm air to dry the user after washing, that offer heated seats, wireless remote controls, illumination through built in night lights, or built in deodorizers and activated carbon filters to remove odors. Further refinements also include adjustable water pressure, temperature compensation, and directional spray control. Where bathroom appearance is of concern, under-the-seat mounting types have become more popular.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The combination toilet/bidet of the invention is a standard toilet further comprising a tee fitting installed in the supply line to the tank and also a spray nozzle disposed in the toilet bowl that is supplied by water from the water supply to the toilet. Water is diverted from the supply line to the spray nozzle by manual operation of a control valve.

The tee fitting allows supply water to run to both the fill tank for the toilet and also to supply the spray nozzle disposed in the toilet bowl.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The combination toilet/bidet of the invention is a standard toilet further comprising a tee fitting installed in the supply line to the tank and also a spray nozzle disposed in the toilet bowl that is supplied by water from the water supply to the toilet. Water is diverted from the supply line to the spray nozzle by manual operation of a control valve.

The tee fitting allows supply water to run to both the fill tank for the toilet and also to supply the spray nozzle disposed in the toilet bowl.

To use the combination toilet and bidet, a user manually opens the control valve which causes water from the supply line to flow through the spray nozzle. The spray nozzle is situated in the toilet bowl to clean the genitalia of the user. The spray nozzle can be adjusted to adjust the direction of the spray.

Turning to the figures, FIG. 1 depicts a side view of the combination toilet and bidet 8 of the invention. Water enters from water supply 7 to tee fitting 3. Tank supply line 2 exiting from tee fitting 3 supplies water to toilet tank 6. Water from spray nozzle water supply line 10 flows through vacuum breaker 1, and thereafter water is fed through spray nozzle water supply line 10 to a spray nozzle (shown in FIG. 3) which is disposed in toilet bowl 9 of toilet 8. The flow of water through spray nozzle supply line 10 from tee fitting 3 through vacuum breaker 1 and to the spray nozzle is controlled by operation of manual control valve 5 which is disposed in the web portion of toilet bowl 9 of toilet 8.

FIG. 2 depicts a front view of the combination toilet and bidet of the invention. Toilet 8 is shown along with water supply 7; tee fitting 3; tank supply line 2; tank 6; spray nozzle water supply line 10; vacuum breaker 10; and manual control valve 5.

FIG. 3 depicts a top view of the combination toilet and bidet of the invention. Toilet 8 is shown along with water supply 7; tee fitting 3; tank supply line 2; tank 6; spray nozzle water supply line 10; vacuum breaker 10; and manual control valve 5. Spray nozzle 4 is situated in toilet bowl 9 of toilet 8 at a position such that the circular motion of water caused by flushing of toilet 8 cleans spray nozzle 4. Spray nozzle 4 has a fish eye orifice.

Claims

1-19. (canceled)

20. A combination toilet and bidet, comprising:

a flush toilet comprising a water supply line, a hold tank and a toilet bowl, wherein water is supplied to the hold tank through the water supply line, wherein water held in the hold tank is released by valve operated by a user who is seated on the toilet into the toilet bowl;
a tee fitting attached to the water supply line;
a spray nozzle disposed in the toilet bowl;
a spray nozzle water supply line attached to the tee fitting, wherein the spray nozzle water supply line supplies water to the spray nozzle;
a vacuum breaker connected to the spray nozzle supply line; and
a manual control valve attached to the spray nozzle water supply line between the vacuum breaker and the spray nozzle,
wherein the spray nozzle is disposed in the toilet bowl at a position such that when the manual control valve is opened by the user, water is supplied from the spray nozzle water supply line to the spray nozzle, wherein the spray nozzle sprays water on the genitalia, perineum, inner buttocks, and anus of the user,
wherein further the spray of water through the spray nozzle stops when the manual control valve is closed by the user.

21. The combination toilet and bidet of claim 20, wherein the direction of the spray of water from the spray nozzle is adjustable.

22. The combination toilet and bidet of claim 21, wherein the spray nozzle is disposed in the toilet bowl such that water entering the toilet bowl from the hold tank washes over and cleans the spray nozzle.

23. The combination toilet and bidet of claim 20, wherein the spray nozzle comprises a fish eye orifice.
