Grooved Hair Accessory Holder
A grooved hair accessory holder. The grooved hair accessory holder has a top unit and a base unit that form a conical shape when secured together. The base unit has a bottom, sidewalls and an open upper end forming a frusto-conically shaped housing with an interior. The top unit has sidewalls that taper toward a closed upper end and an open lower end, forming a conical shape with an interior. There is a fastener adapted to removably secure the top unit to the base unit. Grooves are indented into the exterior surface of the sidewalk at a depth adapted to fit the width of a hairband therein.
This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application No. 62/255,639 filed on Nov. 16, 2015. The above identified patent application is herein incorporated by reference in its entirety to provide continuity of disclosure.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention relates to personal accessory holders. More specifically, the present invention relates to personal accessory holders having a grooved exterior configured to securely hold hair tying accessories.
Personal grooming accessories, such as hairbands and clips, are popular items used to style and position hair in various arrangements. However, because these accessories are small and can be frequently misplaced, users often own and use a multitude of hairbands, clips and other accessories. These can easily clutter a dresser or counter surface, creating an untidy and unorganized look. While placing these items in an enclosed container can keep them together and out of sight, they can get tangled, making it difficult for a user to locate and remove a specific accessory. Accordingly, there is a need for a device that offers a method of storing hair accessories in an organized and untangled fashion.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONIn view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known types of personal accessory holders now present in the prior art, the present invention provides a personal accessory holder wherein the same can be utilized for providing convenience for the user when storing and accessing multiple hair accessories. The present system comprises a base unit and a top unit configured to be secured together to from a single conical shape. Grooves are indented into the exterior surface of the sidewalls at a depth adapted to fit the diameter of band of a hairband therein.
Although the characteristic features of this invention will be particularly pointed out in the claims, the invention itself and manner in which it may be made and used may be better understood after a review of the following description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings wherein like numeral annotations are provided throughout.
Reference is made herein to the attached drawings. Like reference numerals are used throughout the drawings to depict like or similar elements of the grooved hair accessory holder. The figures are intended for representative purposes only and should not be considered to be limiting in any respect.

In some embodiments of the grooved hair accessory holder, the upper fastener comprises a collar with male threading 26 thereon. When a user wishes to connect the top unit 20 to the base unit 10, the male threading 26 of the upper fastener is aligned with the female threading 18 of the lower fastener, and the units are rotated to enable the threading to engage and secure the top 20 and base 10 units together. In other embodiments of the grooved hair accessory holder, the lower fastener and upper fastener are magnets arranged to attract the base unit to the top unit.

Because the interior of both the base unit 10 and the top unit 20 are hollow, a user may store additional items therein, such as combs 40, hair brushes, clips and pins. In some embodiments of the grooved hair accessory holder, there is an organizing insert. The organizing insert has a housing configured to fit within the interior of the base unit 10 to a close tolerance. The organizing insert has interior dividers to partition the space of the lower interior 16 into various sections, allowing for easy and convenient storage of accessories while providing an integral organization method therein.
It is therefore submitted that the instant invention has been shown and described in various embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art. With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.
