A convertible swimsuit top may include a top portion, a mid-portion, and a slider. The top portion may include a lower edge and a row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion. The mid-portion may include an upper edge and a row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion. The row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion and the row of protruding teeth along the upper edge of the mid-portion may be configured to engage and disengage one another via the slider. The row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion and the row of teeth along the upper edge of the mid portion may extend for less than the entire length of the lower edge of the top portion.

RELATED APPLICATION

This application is a non-provisional application of prior pending U.S. Provisional Patent Application Ser. No. 62/260,177, filed Nov. 25, 2015, and entitled “CONVERTIBLE SWIMSUIT TOP”, which is herein incorporated by reference in its entirety.

BACKGROUND

1. Field

Embodiments of the present invention relate generally to swimwear. More particularly, embodiments of the present invention relate to a convertible swimsuit top.

2. Description of the Related Art

Women have an abundance of choice when it comes to swimwear. Not only are there a number of general categories of swimsuits, such as one-piece swimsuits and two-piece bikini swimsuits, there are also a number of different types of swimsuits in each of these categories. For example, bikini swimsuits may take the form of a string bikini or a sport bikini. Even more variation is available with respect to each piece of a two-piece bikini. For example, a bikini top may be of a triangle bikini top style, a halter bikini top style, a bandeau bikini top style, a high neck bikini top style, a strapless bikini top style, etc.

Additionally, a woman may choose instead to wear a tankini which is essentially a hybrid between a tank top and a bikini. A tankini covers not only the breast portion of a woman, but further covers the midsection of the woman.

There has been an effort to create a hybrid bikini and tankini that is useful for a woman as she progresses through pregnancy. The swimsuit includes a bikini top that the woman snaps a tankini section to before wearing the swimsuit. However, attaching the tankini section to the bikini section may be cumbersome and not easily accomplished while the woman is wearing the swimsuit. Further, the swimsuit may not be updateable with respect to style.

In light of the foregoing and other shortcomings in the art, it is desirable to provide improved swimwear.

BRIEF SUMMARY

It is an aspect of the invention to provide a convertible swimsuit top.

In accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the invention, a convertible swimsuit top may be provided. The convertible swimsuit top may include a top portion, a mid-portion, and a slider. The top portion may include a lower edge and a row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion. The mid-portion may include an upper edge and a row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion. The row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion and the row of protruding teeth along the upper edge of the mid-portion may be configured to engage and disengage one another via the slider. The row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion and the row of teeth along the upper edge of the mid portion may extend for less than the entire length of the lower edge of the top portion.

In accordance with another exemplary embodiment of the invention, a convertible swimsuit top may be provided. The convertible swimsuit top may include a top portion, a mid-portion, a slider, and an embellishment portion. The top portion may include a lower edge and a row of protruding teeth extending along the lower edge of the top portion for less than an entire length of the lower edge of the top portion. The mid-portion may include an upper edge and a row of protruding teeth extending along the upper edge of the mid-portion for less than an entire length of the upper edge of the mid-portion. The embellishment portion may include a design material and an attachment structure. The embellishment portion may be removably attachable to the top portion via the attachment structure. The row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion and the row of protruding teeth along the upper edge of the mid-portion may be configured to engage and disengage one another via the slider. A length of the row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion and the row of teeth along the upper edge of the mid-portion may be from 8 inches to 26 inches.

In accordance with another exemplary embodiment of the invention, a convertible swimsuit top may be provided. The convertible swimsuit top may include a triangle top portion, a mid-portion, and a slider. The triangle top portion may include two triangle cup portions, a lower edge, common to the two triangle cup portions, and a row of protruding teeth extending along the lower edge of the triangle top portion for less than an entire length of the lower edge of the triangle top portion. The mid-portion may include an upper edge and a row of protruding teeth extending along the upper edge of the mid-portion for less than an entire length of the upper edge of the mid-portion. The row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion and the row of protruding teeth along the upper edge of the mid-portion may be configured to engage and disengage one another via the slider. A length of the row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion and the row of teeth along the upper edge of the mid-portion may be from 14 inches to 18 inches.

The foregoing and other aspects will become apparent from the following detailed description when considered in conjunction with the accompanying drawing figures.

 DESCRIPTION

Reference will now be made in detail to embodiments of the present invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein like reference numerals refer to the like elements throughout. The embodiments are described below to explain the present invention by referring to the figures.

As used in the description of this application, the terms “a”, “an” and “the” may refer to one or more than one of an element (e.g., item or act). Similarly, a particular quantity of an element may be described or shown while the actual quantity of the element may differ. For example, when the convertible swimsuit top is described as including one or more embellishment portions, this should be interpreted to mean that any number of embellishment portions may be included. Likewise, just because the phrase “one or more” is used for an element (e.g., the embellishment portions), this should not be used to interpret other elements not introduced with the phrase “one or more” as being necessarily limited to only one of such elements. The terms “and” and “or” may be used in the conjunctive or disjunctive sense and will generally be understood to be equivalent to “and/or”. Elements from an embodiment may be combined with elements of another. No element used in the description of this application should be construed as critical or essential to the invention unless explicitly described as such. Further, when an element is described as “connected,” “coupled,” or otherwise linked to another element, it may be directly linked to the other element, or intervening elements may be present.

The convertible swimsuit top may include an embellishment portion, a top portion, and a mid-portion. The embellishment portion and an upper edge of the top portion may include an attachment structure. Accordingly, different embellishment portions may be switched out with the top portion, or altogether omitted. The top portion may include a lower edge. The mid-portion may include an upper edge. The lower edge of the top portion and the upper edge of the mid-portion may each include a row of protruding teeth that may engage and disengage one another via a slider. The row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion and the row of teeth along the upper edge of the mid portion may extend for less than the entire length of the lower edge of the top portion. Accordingly, a woman wearing the convertible swimsuit top may easily attach and remove the mid portion to and from the top portion thereby converting the convertible swimsuit top from a tankini top into a bikini top.

FIG. 1 is a schematic representation of a convertible swimsuit top 100 according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 2 is a schematic representation of the convertible swimsuit top 100 of FIG. 1. The convertible swimsuit top 100 may include one or more embellishment portions 102, a top portion 104, and a mid-portion 106. FIG. 3 is a schematic representation of the convertible swimsuit top 100 of FIG. 1 including different embellishment portions 202 removably attached to the top portion 104 of the convertible swimsuit top 100.

The convertible swimsuit top 100 may be formed from one or more materials as described herein. For example, in one exemplary embodiment, the convertible swimsuit top 100 may be formed of a combination of nylon and spandex. In another exemplary embodiment, the embellishment portion 102, the top portion 104, and the mid portion 106 may be formed from differing materials, such as two or more different combinations of nylon and spandex. Additional alternative exemplary materials are described herein.

The embellishment portion 102 may include an attachment structure and a design material 122. The attachment structure may be used to removably attach the embellishment portion 102 to the top portion 104 of the convertible swimsuit top 100.

In the exemplary embodiment shown, the attachment structure may include a fabric strip including a fastener that may form part of a zipper and to which the design material 122 may be affixed. In other words, the fabric strip may include a row of protruding teeth that may engage and disengage with a corresponding row of protruding teeth (not shown) along an upper edge 140 of the top portion 104 of the convertible swimsuit top 100. It should be noted that the phrase “upper edge” may correspond to one or more sides, such as in the case of a triangle style top portion (shown in, e.g., FIG. 1) having two triangles, each triangle having a bottom and two sides. Accordingly, the phrase “upper edge” should be read broadly to include not only one or more upper edges of the top portion 104, but rather to also include one or more side edges of the top portion 104. Similarly, the term “upper edge” may correspond to one or more positions nearer to the upper edge or the side edge relative to a lower edge 142 of the top portion 104. Accordingly, the term “upper edge” should be read broadly to include not only the actual edges of upper or side positions of the top portion 104, but rather to also include positions not fully at the upper or side edges of the top portion 104. For example, upper edges may refer to positions across the front inner sides of the triangles of a triangle top.

Turning back to the removable attachment of the embellishment portion 102 to the top portion 104, an alternative attachment structure may include hook or loop fasteners affixed to the design material that may engage and disengage with corresponding hook or loop fasteners affixed to the upper edge of the top portion 104 of the convertible swimsuit top 100. Yet another alternative attachment structure may include hook fasteners that attach directly to the top portion 104 itself. That is, the material of the top portion 104 may act as the loops of a hook and loop fastener. Additional alternative exemplary embodiments of the attachment structure include snaps, buttons, fasteners, and hooks.

In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1-2, the design portion 122 of the embellishment portion 102 may be formed from fringes attached to the fabric strip. The fringes may include a row of loose threads. The fringes may be formed from the same material as the top portion 104 or different materials. In operation, when the embellishment portion 102 is attached to the top portion 104, the fringes may hang from the upper edge of the top portion 104. When a woman is standing or sitting in an upright position, the fringes may hang from the upper edge of the top portion 104 over the top portion 104 as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 by virtue of gravity.

FIG. 3 is a schematic representation of the convertible swimsuit top 100 of FIG. 1 including different embellishment portions 202 removably attached to the top portion 104 of the convertible swimsuit top 100. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the embellishment portion 202 includes an attachment structure and a design material 222. In the embodiment shown, the attachment structure is similar to the attachment structure of FIG. 1. That is, the attachment structure includes a fabric strip including a row of protruding teeth that may engage and disengage with the corresponding row of protruding teeth (not shown) along the upper edge 140 of the top portion 104 of the convertible swimsuit top 100.

The design portion 222 of the embellishment portion 202 may be formed of a lace material attached to the fabric strip. The lace material may be different from the material of the top portion 104 or may be the same material.

One of ordinary skill in the art will appreciate that because the attachment structures of the two embellishment portions 102, 202 are similar and are both used to removably attach the embellishment portions 102, 202 to the top portion 104, a woman may interchange the two embellishment portions 102, 202. Alternatively, the woman may selectively remove all embellishment portions from the top portion 104. This provides an aspect of the convertibility of the convertible swimsuit top 100.

Additional embellishment portions are contemplated and considered to be within the scope of the present invention. For example, an embellishment portion may include design portions made from or to resemble mesh, solid designs, and netting. These design portions may be made from the same or different materials than the top portion. These alternative design portions may be attached via a similar fabric strip or other attachment structure.

The top portion 104 of the convertible swimsuit top 100 may take a variety of shapes to resemble current swimsuit top styles. For example, the top portion 104 may be of a triangle style as shown in FIGS. 1-3. However, alternative shapes are contemplated and considered to be within the scope of the present invention. For example, a top portion may be of a halter bikini top style, a bandeau bikini top style (such as shown and described with respect to FIG. 4), a high neck bikini top style, or even a strapless bikini top style.

The top portion 104 may include one or more upper edges 140 and a lower edge 142. As with the phrase “upper edge”, the phrase “lower edge” should be read broadly not only to include one or more actual edges of a lower position of the top portion 104, but rather to also include positions not fully at the lower edges of the top portion 104. For example, lower edge may refer to positions across the front or back of the top portion nearer to the lower edge relative to the upper edge 140.

The top portion 104 may include an upper attachment structure along the upper edges 140. The upper attachment structure may be used to removably attach the top portion 104 to the embellishment portion 102 of the convertible swimsuit 100.

In the exemplary embodiment shown, the upper attachment structure 144 may include a fabric strip including a fastener that may form part of the zipper discussed above with respect to the embellishment portion 102. In other words, the fabric strip may include a row of protruding teeth that may engage and disengage with the corresponding row of protruding teeth of the embellishment portion.

As with the attachment structure of the embellishment portion, an alternative upper attachment structure may include hook or loop fasteners affixed to the top portion that may engage and disengage with corresponding hook or loop fasteners affixed to the attachment structure of the embellishment portion 102 of the convertible swimsuit top 100. As noted above in describing the embellishment portion, the top portion 104 may itself serve as the attachment structure, such as when the material of the top portion 104 may act as the loops of a hook and loop fastener. Additional alternative exemplary embodiments of the upper attachment structure include snaps, buttons, fasteners, and hooks as described above.

In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 1-3, the top portion 104 is of a triangle style and includes a tie member 148. In operation, a person wraps a tie member 148 around their torso and ties the ends of the tie member on their back. In this exemplary embodiment, the tie member 148 provides the lower edge 142 of the top portion 104. However, alternative constructions are contemplated and considered to be within the scope of the present invention. For example, in the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 4, the top portion 304 is of a bandeau style that wraps around the torso of a person and is connected by a zipper back. The lower edge 342 runs along the length of the top portion 304 itself.

Turing back to FIG. 1, the top portion 104 may include a lower fabric strip 146 along the lower edge 142 of the top portion 104. The lower fabric strip 146 may form part of a zipper and be used to removably attach the top portion 104 to the mid portion 106. In other words, the lower fabric strip 146 may include a row of protruding teeth that may engage and disengage with a corresponding row of protruding teeth of an upper fabric strip 158 along an upper edge 160 of the mid portion 106 of the convertible swimsuit top 100.

It should be noted that the rows of protruding teeth of the lower fabric strip 146 of the top portion 104 and the corresponding row of protruding teeth along the upper fabric strip 158 of the upper edge 160 of the mid portion 106 may extend for less than the entire length of the lower edge of the top portion. Stated differently, while the lower edge 142 of the top portion 104 and/or the upper edge 160 of the mid portion 106 may be configured to extend entirely around the woman's torso, the row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion and the row of teeth along the upper edge of the mid portion may only extend around part of the person's torso. Stated differently, the zipper may be of a length less than a length of the lower edge of the top portion 104.

One of ordinary skill in the art will appreciate that because the zipper may be of a length less than a length of the lower edge of the top portion 104, a woman may be able to easily attach and remove the mid portion 106 to and from the top portion 104. In other words, the length of the zipper may be of a predetermined length so that attachment and removal of the mid portion 106 to and from the top portion 104 may be performed easily by the woman without help. This easy attachment and removal of the mid portion 106 to and from the top portion 104 is illustrated in FIG. 6.

In the exemplary embodiment shown, the zipper is 14 inches for extra-small and small sizes, 16 inches for medium and large sizes, and 18 inches for extra-large sizes. Accordingly, the zipper may extend from under the person's first arm to under the person's second arm. Alternative zipper lengths are contemplated and considered to be within the scope of the present invention. For example, a zipper length of between 6 and 28 inches is preferred. A zipper length of between 7 and 27 inches is even more preferred. A zipper length of between 8 and 26 inches is most preferred. Stated differently, the embodiments shown in the figures include a zipper length that may be between 25 percent to 80 percent of the entire length of the lower edge of the top portion. In some embodiments, the zipper length may be between 40 percent to 60 percent of the entire length of the lower edge of the top portion.

As described above, the mid portion 106 may include an upper fabric strip 158 along the upper edge 160 of the mid portion 106. The upper fabric strip 158 may form part of the zipper discussed above and may be used to removably attach the mid portion 106 to the top portion 104.

FIG. 4 is a schematic representation of a convertible swimsuit top 300 according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention. The convertible swimsuit top 300 may include an embellishment portion 302, a top portion 304, and the mid-portion 106 of FIGS. 1-3. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the top portion 304 is of a bandeau bikini top style.

One of ordinary skill in the art will appreciate that the top portion 304 of the convertible swimsuit top 300 may be used with the mid portion 106 of the convertible swimsuit top 100 of FIG. 1, and vice versa. This provides an additional aspect of the convertibility of the convertible swimsuit tops 100, 300.

The embellishment portion 302 may include an attachment structure and a design material 322. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the attachment structure may include hook or loop fasteners affixed to the design material that may engage and disengage with corresponding hook or loop fasteners affixed to the upper edge 340 of the top portion 304 of the convertible swimsuit top 304. The design portion 322 of the embellishment portion 302 may be formed of a lace material attached to the fabric strip.

The top portion 304 may include an upper edge 340 and a lower edge 342. The top portion 304 may include an upper attachment structure along the upper edge 340. The upper attachment structure may be used to removably attach the top portion 304 to the embellishment portion 302 of the convertible swimsuit 300.

The top portion 304 may include a lower fabric strip 346 along the lower edge 342 of the top portion 304. The lower fabric strip 346 may form part of a zipper and be used to removably attach the top portion 304 to the mid portion 306. In other words, the lower fabric strip 346 may include a row of protruding teeth that may engage and disengage with a corresponding row of protruding teeth of an upper fabric strip 158 along an upper edge 160 of the mid portion 106.

It should be noted that the rows of protruding teeth of the lower fabric strip 346 of the top portion 304 and the corresponding row of protruding teeth along the upper fabric strip 158 of the upper edge 160 of the mid portion 106 may extend for less than the entire length of the lower edge of the top portion 304. One of ordinary skill in the art will appreciate that because the zipper may be of a length less than a length of the lower edge of the top portion 304, a woman may be able to easily attach and remove the mid portion 106 to and from the top portion 304. In other words, the length of the zipper may be of a predetermined length so that attachment and removal of the mid portion 106 to and from the top portion 304 may be performed easily by the woman without help.

FIGS. 5A-D are schematic representations of back portions of convertible swimsuit tops according to exemplary embodiments of the present invention. FIG. 5A shows the back portion of the convertible swimsuit top 100 of FIGS. 1-3. The back portion of the top portion 104 is secured by tie back. The back portion of the mid portion 106 is also secured by tie back. FIG. 5B shows the back portion of the top portion 304 of FIG. 4 which is secured by a zipper. The back portion of the mid portion 406 is also secured by a zipper. FIG. 5C shows the back portion of the top portion 304 of FIG. 4 which is secured by a zipper. The back portion of the mid portion 506 is secured by a hook assembly. FIG. 5D shows the back portion of the top portion 304 of FIG. 4 which is secured by a zipper. The back portion of the mid portion 606 is secured by a double tie back.

The present embodiments provide a number of advantages. For example, a woman wearing a convertible swimsuit top according to the present embodiments may be able to switch out different types of embellishments with different types of top and mid portions, or may opt not to wear any type of embellishment portion. Further, a woman may be able to easily attach and remove the mid portion from the top portion, even while wearing the convertible swimsuit top.

The foregoing description discloses only exemplary embodiments of the invention. Modifications of the above-disclosed embodiments of the present invention (beyond those modifications already mentioned) of which fall within the scope of the invention will be readily apparent to those of ordinary skill in the art. For instance, although in some embodiments, a zipper is described as a fastening mechanism, the fastening mechanism may be an alternate structure, such as a hook assembly.

Accordingly, although embodiments of the present invention have been shown and described, it would be appreciated by those skilled in the art that changes may be made in these embodiments without departing from the principles and spirit of the invention.

Claims

1. A convertible swimsuit top, comprising:

a top portion including a lower edge and a row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion;
a mid-portion including an upper edge and a row of protruding teeth along the upper edge of the mid-portion; and
a slider,
wherein the row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion and the row of protruding teeth along the upper edge of the mid-portion are configured to engage and disengage one another via the slider, and
wherein the row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion and the row of protruding teeth along the upper edge of the mid-portion extend for less than an entire length of the lower edge of the top portion.

2. The convertible swimsuit top of claim 1, wherein a length of the row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion and the row of teeth along the upper edge of the mid-portion is from 6 inches to 28 inches.

3. The convertible swimsuit top of claim 1, wherein a length of the row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion and the row of teeth along the upper edge of the mid-portion is from 7 inches to 27 inches.

4. The convertible swimsuit top of claim 1, wherein a length of the row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion and the row of teeth along the upper edge of the mid-portion is from 8 inches and 26 inches.

5. The convertible swimsuit top of claim 1, wherein the length of the row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion and the row of teeth along the upper edge of the mid-portion extend for a length of 25 percent to 80 percent of the entire length of the lower edge of the top portion.

6. The convertible swimsuit top of claim 1, wherein the length of the row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion and the row of teeth along the upper edge of the mid-portion extend for a length of 40 percent to 60 percent of the entire length of the lower edge of the top portion.

7. The convertible swimsuit top of claim 1, wherein a length of the row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion and the row of teeth along the upper edge of the mid-portion is from 14 to 18 inches.

8. The convertible swimsuit top of claim 1, further comprising a removable embellishment portion.

9. The convertible swimsuit top of claim 8, wherein the removable embellishment portion includes a design material, wherein at least one of the removable embellishment portion and the upper edge of the top portion include an attachment structure, and wherein the embellishment portion is removably attachable to the top portion via the attachment structure.

10. The convertible swimsuit to of claim 9, wherein the attachment structure comprises:

an embellishment portion slider;
an embellishment portion fabric strip including a row of protruding teeth; and
a top portion upper edge fabric strip including a row of protruding teeth,
wherein the embellishment portion fabric strip row of protruding teeth and the top portion upper edge fabric strip row of protruding teeth are configured to engage and disengage one another via the embellishment portion slider.

11. The convertible swimsuit to of claim 9, wherein the attachment structure comprises:

an embellishment portion hook fastener strip or a top portion hook fastener strip, wherein the embellishment portion hook fastener strip is configured to engage and disengage the top portion, or the top portion hook fastener strip is configured to engage and disengage the embellishment portion.

12. The convertible swimsuit to of claim 9, wherein the attachment structure comprises:

an embellishment portion hook or loop fastener strip; and
a top portion hook or loop fastener strip,
wherein the embellishment portion hoop or loop fastener strip and the top portion hook or loop fastener strip are configured to engage and disengage one another.

13. The convertible swimsuit to of claim 1, wherein the mid-portion further comprises a tieback including set of strips extending from each side of the mid-portion to be secured to one another.

14. The convertible swimsuit of claim 13, wherein the set of strips extend outward from middle to upper locations on each side of the mid-portion and are configured to be tied to one another.

15. A convertible swimsuit top, comprising:

a top portion including a lower edge and a row of protruding teeth extending along the lower edge of the top portion for less than an entire length of the lower edge of the top portion;
a mid-portion including an upper edge and a row of protruding teeth extending along the upper edge of the mid-portion for less than an entire length of the upper edge of the mid-portion;
a slider; and
an embellishment portion including a design material and an attachment structure, the embellishment portion being removably attachable to the top portion via the attachment structure,
wherein the row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion and the row of protruding teeth along the upper edge of the mid-portion are configured to engage and disengage one another via the slider, and
wherein a length of the row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion and the row of teeth along the upper edge of the mid-portion is from 8 inches to 26 inches.

The convertible swimsuit to of claim 15, wherein the attachment structure comprises: wherein the embellishment portion fabric strip row of protruding teeth and the top portion upper edge fabric strip row of protruding teeth are configured to engage and disengage one another via the embellishment portion slider.

an embellishment portion slider;
an embellishment portion fabric strip including a row of protruding teeth; and
a top portion upper edge fabric strip including a row of protruding teeth,

17. The convertible swimsuit of claim 15, wherein the mid-portion further comprises a tieback including a set of strips extending from each side of the mid-portion to be secured to one another.

18. A convertible swimsuit top, comprising:

a triangle top portion including two triangle cup portions, a lower edge, common to the two triangle cup portions, and a row of protruding teeth extending along the lower edge of the triangle top portion for less than an entire length of the lower edge of the triangle top portion;
a mid-portion including an upper edge and a row of protruding teeth extending along the upper edge of the mid-portion for less than an entire length of the upper edge of the mid-portion; and
a slider,
wherein the row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion and the row of protruding teeth along the upper edge of the mid-portion are configured to engage and disengage one another via the slider, and
wherein a length of the row of protruding teeth along the lower edge of the top portion and the row of teeth along the upper edge of the mid-portion is from 14 inches to 18 inches.

19. The convertible swimsuit to of claim 18, wherein the mid-portion further comprises a tieback including set of strips extending from each side of the mid-portion to be secured to one another.

20. The convertible swimsuit of claim 19, wherein the set of strips extend outward from middle to upper locations on each side of the mid-portion and are configured to be tied to one another.
