GYROCISER

Disclosed herein is a gyroscopic exercise apparatus. The present invention is comprised of a rotatable disc, a pair of retractable strings, and attachment means to connect the rotatable disc with the retractable strings. The rotatable disc is comprised of an outer ring structure that has crisscross connecting rods connecting the outer ring structure with inner center disc, and two plastic insert holes to allow the passage of retractable strings from the disc. This process will create tension when twisted and turned due to back and forth movement of the rotatable disc, which causes muscle development and fatigue.

(1) Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to the field of exercising apparatuses, and, more particularly, to an exercising apparatus that relates to a gyroscopic exercise device that is capable of developing strength, stamina, and coordination.

(2) Background of the Invention

In recent years, people have become more and more conscious of the need to exercise in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Many different types of exercises have become popular, and some exercises are directed or devoted to improving various aspects of the body's fitness and performance. A comprehensive list of such types of exercises and exercise devices is, in today's society, overwhelming. Many people have become confused as to what exercise and what type of exercise device is suitable for their purposes. Thus, many types of exercise devices are of common knowledge to an informed consumer or physical fitness devotee. There are many examples of such exercise devices, including gyroscopic exercise devices.

Patent No U.S. Pat. No. 7,935,035 B2 discloses a gyroscopic device that has a pair of handles attached to a housing. A user holds and rotates the handles along cone-like paths, causing the precession of the rotor, which rotates about its spin axis, to provide resistance to the user. The device has an axle disc that holds the ends of an axle of the rotor. The disc is provided with a retracting spool that allows starting of the device.

Patent No U.S. Pat. No. 8,157,709 B2 provides a universal multi-directional exerciser for exercising the hand, wrist and, forearm in multiple planes of motion with adjustable resistance. The apparatus is comprised of a handle that has an axial opening through which a bolt extends. The wrists and hands are exercised by holding the handle in one hand and the knob/grip member in the other hand, and repetitively twisting the handle and knob/grip member in opposite directions.

Patent No WO 2013136287 A1 discloses a gyroscopic exercise apparatus that is comprised of at least one control-moment gyroscope, at least one motion sensor for sensing movement of the apparatus, at least one spindle motor for providing rotation to a rotor of the gyroscope, and at least one reversible motor for providing rotation to at least one gimbal of the gyroscope.

Another exercise device is disclosed in Patent No U.S. Pat. No. 8,784,269 B2, which provides an exercise device where resistance is provided by one or more gyroscopic forces, centrifugal forces, magnetic forces, torus forces, symmetric field physics, electro-magnetic forces, mass shaping, frequency dynamics, etc. The flywheel is spun up to a desired speed and provides a gyroscopic resistance to movement in a particular direction relative to the orientation of the device.

Other prior arts, including Patent No U.S. Pat. No. 8,939,873 B2, U.S. Pat. No. 4,957,282 A, U.S. Pat. No. 7,686,740 B1, U.S. Pat. No. 6,179,758 B1, U.S. Pat. No. 6,629,908 B2, U.S. Pat. No. 3,841,627 A, and U.S. Pat. No. 3,901,503 A, also discloses different types of gyro-exercising apparatus.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known types of gyro exercising apparatus present in the prior art, the present invention provides a new and improved gyro-exerciser that has a moving part that wears out the user's muscles. As such, the general purpose of the present invention, which will be described subsequently in greater detail, is to provide a new and improved gyro exercising apparatus that has all of the advantages of the prior art, and none of the disadvantages.

An objective of the invention is to provide an improved system and apparatus for improved exercising of the arms, wrists, and legs that is effective in promoting healthy exercise with a minimum of stress to the muscle groups, so as to thereby avoid injuries often associated with exercise.

It is another objective of the present invention to provide an exercise apparatus that relies on a simple, though ingenious, design for coaxing a maximum workout from a user while at the same time permitting the user to enjoy the workout.

It is also an objective of the present invention to provide an exercise apparatus that is manually powered and adjustable to fit the needs and desires of a wide range of people.

Another objective of the present invention is to provide an exercise apparatus that motivates people to exercise in order to develop strength, stamina, and coordination.

In this respect, before explaining at least one embodiment of the invention in detail, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited in its application to the details of construction and to the arrangements of the components set forth in the following description or illustrated in the drawings. The invention is capable of other embodiments and of being practiced and carried out in various ways. Also, it is to be understood that the phraseology and terminology employed herein are for the purpose of description and should not be regarded as limiting.

These together with other objects of the invention, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the invention, are pointed out with particularity in the disclosure. For a better understanding of the invention, its operating advantages and the specific objects attained by its uses, reference should be had to the accompanying drawings and descriptive matter in which there are illustrated preferred embodiments of the invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The embodiments of the present disclosure, described below, are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the disclosure to the precise forms disclosed in the following detailed description. Rather, the embodiments are chosen and described so that others skilled in the art may appreciate and understand the principles and practices of the present disclosure.

The following embodiments and the accompanying drawings, which are incorporated into and form part of this disclosure, illustrate embodiments of the invention, and, together with the description, serve to explain the principles of the invention. To the accomplishment of the foregoing and related ends, certain illustrative aspects of the invention are described herein in connection with the following description and the annexed drawings. These aspects are indicative, however, of but a few of the various ways in which the principles of the invention can be employed, and the present invention is intended to include all such aspects and their equivalents. Other advantages and novel features of the invention will become apparent from the following detailed description of the invention when considered in conjunction with the drawings.

In some preferred embodiments, the present invention provides a system and apparatus for exercising the upper body and legs. The purpose of the invention is to provide a user-friendly, easy to use exercise apparatus.

FIG. 1 shows the perspective view of the gyro-exercising apparatus 1 of the present invention including the rotatable disc 2, the retractable strings 3, the crisscross connecting rods 4 and the attachment means 5.

FIG. 2 shows the perspective view of the present invention attached to gloves including the retractable strings 3, the cross-connecting rods 4, and quick release 6 attached to a pair of gloves or ankle cuffs.

The present invention generally provides the improved system and apparatus for improved exercising of the arms, wrists, and legs that is effective in promoting healthy exercise with a minimum of stress to the muscle groups, so as to thereby avoid injuries often associated with exercise.

In an embodiment, the gyro-exercising apparatus 1 of the present invention provides partial glove with quick releasing means 5 for both hands without the finger cuffs, inside the palm of the gloves will be a ringlet attached to both gloves. Further, the gyro-exercising apparatus 1 includes retractable strings 3 like elastic cordage that will be attached to the inner central disc 8. The one end of the retractable strings 3 is attached to the inner central disc 8 of the rotatable disc 2 at the two diagonally opposite plastic insert holes 9, the rotatable disc 2 includes an outer circular ring structure 7, and crisscross connecting rods 4 that are attached to inner central disc 8. Moreover one end of the retractable strings 3 is placed into one of the two diagonally opposite plastic insert holes 9 to from a loop the rotatable disc 2 that are attached to the partial glove with quick releasing means 5 for both hands.

In its preferred embodiment, the present invention relates to a gyroscopic apparatus that is capable of assisting or resisting movement of a user's body part, such as a hand or arm. The apparatus includes a rotatable disc 2 that is connected to a pair of retractable strings 3 that are connected to the disc through a pair of cross-connecting rods 4 that provided within the rotatable disc 2. The rods have attachment means 5 to strongly connect the retractable strings 3 with the rotatable disc 2. The disclosed apparatus can be tied to hand gloves or ankle cuffs to allow the user to exercise with the apparatus as per their choice. The movement of the rotatable disc 2 is facilitated as the connecting string 3 twists to one side and then reverses to the other side until the tension stops it, and then reverses it again. The back and forth motion creates tension, which causes muscle development and fatigue.

The attachment means 5 is hooked onto a quick release 6 that is further attached to a pair of gloves or ankle cuffs. Any movement of hands that have the quick release attached to gloves makes the retractable strings 3 turn clockwise or counterclockwise by creating twists and turns thus, causing the middle rotatable disc 2 to rotate and create tension, which causes muscle development and fatigue. The rotatable disc 2 includes an outer circular ring structure 7, and crisscross connecting rods 4 that are attached to inner central disc 8. The rods have two diagonally opposite plastic insert holes 9 for passing the retractable strings 3 easily through the inner central disc 8.

In preferred embodiment, the system provides an exercise device where resistance is provided by one or more gyroscopic forces, centrifugal forces, magnetic forces, torus forces, or the like. A handheld device with an internal rotatable disc 2 is provided. The disc 2 is rotated at a desired speed and provides gyroscopic resistance to movement in a particular direction relative to the orientation of the device. By holding the device in a particular orientation and attempting to move the device against the gyroscopic effect, resistance is provided for exercising. The device itself is relatively light, so that the resistance exists principally when the device is being moved.

The present invention provides a multidirectional exerciser for hands, wrists, and forearms that is comprised of a detachable or non-detachable grip member, wherein the detachable squeeze grip member is further comprised of a gyro ring. The present invention is readily adjustable for a regular progressive exercise program for all types of people with varying hand sizes, age, and physical strength. Thus, the invention is universal in nature, with one model providing a range of hand and wrist exercises. The exerciser of the present invention is equally suited for rehabilitative uses, for improving strength, flexibility, and range of motion, as an injury preventative, and for work or sports training and strengthening.

Moreover in one embodiment when a user uses a circular motion to spin the disc in either direction it will turn and bind the cordage until it stops. This is the starting point of the Aerobicizer, when pulling it apart it will spin out back and forth with tension in and out until it stops, it will only go so far until it has reached its maximum tension. This tension will cause certain muscles in the hand and arm to constrict back and forth. While moving user hands in and out in a somewhat clapping movement, user will start noticing fatigue and heavy breathing. Users are now actually doing aerobics without knowing. Should user start angling user arm movements like over users head or turned to one side, user will noticed different muscles in users arm and different areas of user's torso starting to strain. However user position user's arms is how to work different areas of user torso as well as user shoulders, bicep, triceps, forearm and wrist. By adding a pair of ankle cuffs with ringlets attached, user will be able to use this exercising device to work on user lower body, conditioning user ankles for strength and toning user calf muscles and thighs and to include user hip, buttocks and user abdomen as well.

Although specific embodiments have been illustrated and described herein, it will be appreciated by those of ordinary skill in the art that any arrangement that is calculated to achieve the same purpose may be substituted for the specific embodiment shown. This application is intended to cover any adaptations or variations of the present invention.

Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.

Claims

1. A gyro-exercise apparatus comprising:

(a) rotatable disc and
(b) pair of retractable strings,
wherein said rotatable disc comprises: (i) circular ring structure; (ii) crisscross connecting strings; and (iii) inner central disc.

2. The exercise apparatus claimed in claim 1, wherein said rotatable disc with said circular ring structure that has connecting rods attached to said inner central disc includes two diagonally opposite plastic insert holes for passing the retractable strings smoothly through said inner central disc.

3. The exercise apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein said rotatable disc is connected to said pair of retractable strings at opposite ends.

4. The exercise apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein the pair of said crisscross connecting strings are provided within said rotatable disc having attachment means to strongly connect said retractable strings with said rotatable disc.

5. The exercise apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein said rotatable disc moves back and forth as said crisscross connecting string twists to one side and then reverses to the other side until tension stops it and then reverses again.

6. The exercise apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein the attachment means is hooked onto a quick release that is further attached to pair of gloves or ankle cuffs.

7. The exercise apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein the resistance is provided by one or more gyroscopic forces to create tension that causes muscle development and fatigue.

8. The exercise apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein said rotable disc is rotated at a desired speed and provides a gyroscopic resistance to movement in a particular direction relative to the orientation of the device.

9. The exercise apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein said apparatus is universal in nature, readily adjustable for a regular progressive exercise program for all types of people with varying hand sizes, age, and physical strength.

10. The exercise apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein said apparatus is equally suited for rehabilitative uses, for improving strength, flexibility, and range of motion, as an injury preventative, and for work or sports training and strengthening.
