Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

(a) Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a luggage, and more particularly to a luggage having a strap positioning structure for the strap inside the luggage to be retained at a position close to the opening of the luggage in order to be used conveniently.

(b) Description of the Prior Art

A conventional luggage is provided with one or two straps inside the luggage. The straps are transversely disposed at the bottom of the luggage, often in the form of an X shape. The straps are used to fasten the garments placed in the luggage, as disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 2,415,220, U.S. Pat. No. 4,932,506, U.S. Pat. No. 4,729,460, U.S. Pat. No. 5,474,162, U.S. Pat. No. 5,762,170, U.S. Pat. No. 5,678,666, U.S. Pat. No. 6,073,738, and U.S. Pat. No. 5,054,589. However, when the user wants to place the garments into the conventional luggage, the straps of the luggage must be unbuckled first. When the garments are placed into the luggage, the straps may be covered and pressed at the bottom of the luggage. The user has to rummage the luggage for the straps, which may mess up the garments. Therefore, a device used to hold the straps must be developed to retain the straps at a position close to the opening of the luggage, such that the straps can be used conveniently. Accordingly, the inventor of the present invention has devoted himself based on his many years of practical experiences to solve these problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary object of the present invention is to provide a luggage having a strap positioning structure. Through a retaining member coupled to the interior of the luggage, a strap provided inside the luggage can be retained at a certain height, preventing the strap from being covered by articles placed in the luggage.

In order to achieve the object, the luggage having a strap positioning structure of the present invention comprises a luggage case that has an accommodation space therein, an opening located at one side of the accommodation space, a lid connected to one side of the opening to cover the opening in a zipped manner, and at least one strap disposed in the accommodation space. An inner surface of the accommodation space has an inner side wall. The inner side wall is provided with at least one retaining member coupled to the inner side wall and located close to the opening. The retaining member comprises a fixed portion fixed to the inner side wall, a retaining portion connected to the fixed portion, and an insertion space formed at an inner side of the retaining portion. The strap is inserted through the insertion space of the retaining member. The strap is extended across the opening to fasten articles placed in the accommodation space.

Through the strap positioning structure of the present invention, the strap is retained at a position over three-quarters of a height of the luggage case. When garments or other personal items are placed in the luggage case, the strap won't be covered and pressed at the bottom of the luggage case, such that the strap can be used to conveniently fasten the garments.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Embodiments of the present invention will now be described, by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying drawings.

As shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, a luggage having a strap positioning structure according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a luggage case 1. The luggage case 1 has an accommodation space 11 therein, an opening 12 in front of the accommodation space 11, a lid 13 connected to one side of the opening 12 to cover the opening 12 in a zipped manner, and at least one strap 14 disposed in the accommodation space 11. An inner surface of the accommodation space 11 has an inner side wall 15. The inner side wall 15 is provided with at least one retaining member 2 which is coupled to the inner side wall 15 and located close to the opening 12. Preferably, the retaining member 2 is located at a position over three-quarters of a height from the bottom of the accommodation space 11 to the opening 12. Specifically, the retaining member 2 comprises a fixed portion 21, a retaining portion 22 connected to the fixed portion 21, and an insertion space 23 formed at an inner side of the retaining portion 22. Thereby, the strap 14 of the luggage case 1 can be inserted through the insertion space 23 of the retaining member 2. The middle of the strap 14 is provided with a movable buckle 141. When the buckle 141 is buckled, the strap 14 is extended across the opening 12 and adapted to fasten the garments and other personal items placed in the accommodation space 11 of the luggage case 1. When the movable buckle 141 at the middle of the strap 14 is unbuckled, the strap 14 is retained by the retaining member 2 to prevent the strap 14 from being covered by the garments and other personal items and pressed to the bottom of the luggage case 1.

As shown in FIG. 2, FIG. 3, and FIG. 4, the fixed portion 21 of the retaining member 2 can be a fixed plate 211. The fixed plate 211 is coupled to the inner side wall 15 of the luggage case 1. The retaining portion 22 can be a retaining plate 221. The retaining plate 221 can be integrally formed with or coupled to the fixed plate 211. The insertion space 23 is a slot 231 formed at an inner side of the retaining plate 221.

As shown in FIG. 2 through FIG. 10, the position and shape of the retaining members 2 are slightly different. Some of the fixed plates 211 are located above or under the retaining plate 221. Some of the fixed plates 211 are located at two ends of the retaining plate 221. The same feature is that two ends of the retaining plate 221 are connected to the fixed plate 211. A central portion of the retaining plate 221 is formed with an insertion opening 24 communicating with the slot 231, such that the strap 14 is inserted in the slot 231 through the insertion opening 24.

As shown in FIG. 11 through FIG. 14, in an embodiment, one end of the retaining plate 221 is connected to the fixed plate 211. Another end of the retaining plate 221 is formed with an insertion opening 24′ communicating with the slot 231. The strap 14 is inserted in the slot 231 through the insertion opening 24′.

As shown in FIG. 15 and FIG. 16, in an embodiment, two ends of the retaining plate 221 are connected to the fixed plate 211, without the insertion opening 24 or 24′ formed at the middle or at one end of the retaining plate 221. In this embodiment, the strap 14 is inserted in the slot 231 from one end of the slot 231.

There are two embodiments for the fixed plate 211 of the fixed portion 21 of the retaining member 2 of the present invention coupled to the inner side wall 15 of the luggage case 1. As shown in FIG. 2 through FIG. 13, in an embodiment, the fixed plate 211 includes at least one through hole 212 and at least one fixing member 213 inserting through the through hole 212. The fixing member 213 can be a rivet or a screw. The fixing member 213 is secured to the inner side wall 15 of the luggage case 1. As shown in FIG. 14, in the other embodiment, the fixed plate 211 is a leather piece or a fabric piece or other piece. The retaining plate 221 is coupled to the leather piece or the fabric piece. The leather piece or the fabric piece is sewn to the inner side wall 15 of the luggage case 1 by means of sewing thread 214.

Although particular embodiments of the present invention have been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. Accordingly, the present invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
