Light Up Surfboard

A wirelessly rechargeable light up LED battery operated configuration which is assembled into a base, being a surfboard or water apparatus, and being covered by waterproof materials, to create waterproof ability, and thus to be charged wirelessly.

Description

1. Light Up Surfboard, the apparatus comprising:

    • (a) rechargeable Lithium ion battery
    • (b) means to be “waterproof” meaning LED lights, control board, and all wires, switches, control modules contained within the base.
    • (c) a base:
    • (d) Wireless charging receiver and emitter
    • (e) LED lighted strip (s)
    • (f) On/off waterproof power button
    • (g) circuit board, containing power indicator lights, multiple power supply ports, and voltage reducer for battery charging

To be used to receive light up effects for water action sports such as wake surfing, ocean surfing and stand up paddleboarding specifically, but not to be restricted to only such models. To increase visual awareness and therefore safety while using action sport products at night or in darkly lit environments.

Uses a rechargeable 3.7 volt lithium ion battery varying from 10,000 mAh to 500 mAh, connected to circuit board module, connected to on/off power switch, connected to wireless receiver for power input, connected to LED light strip(s), completely embedded into base for waterproof ability, and to be wirelessly recharged. Therefore exhibiting improvement upon light up surfboards by providing waterproofing, use of rechargeable lithium ion batteries, and wireless charging to embed circuitry into base without leaving opening for cords to contact circuitry module to allow for charging.

TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates to rechargeable battery operated lights and more particularly, but not exclusively, to a wireless rechargeable light up surfboard(s) and charger(s) therefor.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Typically, surf boards are made with no lights or electronics whatsoever, some have tried to incorporate lights onto the top of the board with straps or clips, or onto the board with external battery packs and not rechargeable, having to plug into the circuitry, and decreasing waterproof ability and life of product.

The above-described lights and charger for light up surf boards suffers from the disadvantage that the charging ports, wiring, and battery pack are not fully embedded nor is fully waterproof, shortening the life span of the product and causing shorts in the power and circuitry. These also have the disadvantage that the attachment to a board is on the outside and can fall off or need to be tightened regularly, adhesion dissipates and lacks design in graphics for design aesthetics.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is an object of the present invention to overcome or substantially ameliorate the above disadvantages.

There is disclosed herein a wireless rechargeable battery and charger for a light-up article needing to be waterproof, having a battery, switch, circuitry, LED lights, and wireless charging receiver fully embedded into water apparatus, so that the configuration is completely waterproof and integrated into the base.

There is further disclosed herein a combination of the above battery charger and the article, and wherein the article is a light up surf board including rechargeable batteries and wireless charger.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

A preferred form of the present invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings wherein:

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

In FIG. 1 of the accompanying drawings there is schematically depicted a wireless rechargeable light up surf board 6 with battery 1, circuit board 2, on/off power switch 3, wireless charging receiver 4, and LED light strip (s) 5 embedded into base and covered with fiberglass, foam, plastic and/or silicone for complete waterproof ability. The surf board 6 is an outer body 6 that receives the light up assembly circuitry 1-5 terminating with a outer layer, typically, made up of waterproof material such as fiberglass, foam, silicone, plastic, or others not listed.

The on/off switch 3 is a waterproof switch embedded in the board, or in a soft spot in the fiberglass, sealants or silicone to push, or located on the outside of the surf board 6 to push. When the switch 3 is off no current is released from the battery 1 lighting the LED light strip 5 but still allowing the receiver 4 to charge the battery 1.

The LED light strip 5 can be multiple light strips or one singular light strip in many varieties, colors, lengths, etc. It can be incorporated into the overall design of the board and wires connected the light strip may be long or short to reach desired destination of lights on the body 6. Circuit board 2 has additional ports for additional power supply.

FIG. 1 represents basic arrangement of parts 1-6 listed not necessarily how it will be laid out inside of a base 6. Assembly is not concrete as to where parts are permanently installed due to design of each board/base 6 being unique, and configuration of LED light strip(s) 5.

The foregoing describes a number of embodiments of the present invention, and modifications, obvious to those skilled in the art, can be made thereto without departing from the scope of the invention.
