Description of Related Art
Most typical hospital clothing for patients involves a hospital gown that has been traditionally worn by patients for many years. Typically the gown includes easily accessible aspects due to the necessity for medical treatment while in the hospital. The typical hospital gown is placed on a patient on the patient's front side and tied on the back side with loose snaps or ties so that the gown can be easily removed without disrupting any intravenous lines attached to the patient's arms. Further the gown needs to be easily removed in case of emergency surgery or other aspects of patient care. One drawback to the patient gown is the open exposure that the patient must suffer as a result of the opening in the back of the hospital gown. This typical hospital gown as a result is usually uncomfortable to wear and further is not appealing to most patients. As a result, it would be advantageous to have more standard clothing that could be used for patients but still meet the needs of the caretakers in the hospital.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention relates to a garment for use in a health care facility that includes: a shirt, where the shirt includes a plurality of hook and loop connectors along the seams and the shirt is adapted to provide uniform covering of the chest and back areas of a user; and a pair of trousers, where the pair of trousers include a plurality of hook and loop connectors along the seams. The garment also includes a gown with plurality of hook and loop connectors along the seams and the gown is adapted to provide uniform covering of the chest, back and genital areas of a user. The plurality of hook and loop connectors for the shirt may include connectors that extend over the shoulder and sleeve portions of the shirt. The plurality of hook and loop connectors for the shirt may also include connectors extending from under the sleeve to the base of the shirt. The plurality of hook and loop connectors for the pair of trousers may include a connector at the crotch and down each inseam, and from center inseam up front to waist, where the pair of trousers include a drawstring at the waist. In one particular embodiment, the garment may also include a hook and loop closure adapted to secure intravenous lines.
The present invention relates to hospital unisex clothing that can be used as a substitute for the traditional hospital gown currently in use. The present invention provides a top or shirt for use in the hospital along with a pair of trousers. As a result, most patients may be fitted in these shirt and trousers as opposed to the traditional hospital gown. The shirt and trousers include hook and loop closures on the outer perimeters and seams so that the clothing may be easily removed however remains intact should a patient have to get up and walk around their bedroom or hospital during their stay. Further the shirt includes a tab that may secure tubing that is normally required during a hospital stay.
