Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Field of Invention

The present invention relates to a magnetic spinning toy, which spins around a rod due to wind and magnetic force.

Description of Related Art

Spinning toys are a common device that are used to entertain children of various ages. Typically spinning toys are carousels or spinning objects about a rod or a pole. Various types of force are used with these toys including manual and wind force. Further magnetic force may be used in some applications in order to facilitate the movement of a spinning toy. Implementation of magnetics along with wind can provide a sustained spinning toy using various type of force and pressure.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a magnetic spinning toy comprising: a top magnetic assembly; a bottom magnetic assembly; a rod, wherein said rod extends between the top magnetic assembly and bottom magnetic assembly; a plurality of rotating wings mounted on the rod between the top magnetic assembly and bottom magnetic assembly; and a mounting arm, wherein the mounting arm receives top magnetic assembly, the plurality of rotating wings and bottom magnetic assembly. The top and bottom magnetic assemblies preferably also include a copper tube with embedded magnets, wherein the embedded magnets include a donut magnet at one end of the copper tube and additional magnets at the mid point and opposite end of the copper tube.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 provides an exploded view of a magnetic spinning toy in accordance with the present invention.

FIG. 2 provides a focus view of a wing used in conjunction with the spinning toy in accordance with the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The present invention relates to a magnetic spinning toy that utilizes a plurality of wings spinning around a rod. This grouping of wings is attached to the rod the way a wheel and spoke like configuration. Spokes suspend from a center disk with a wing attached at a distal end of the spoke. Each wing is configured in a manner to facilitate pivoting and movement to optimize the position of the wing in relation to wind force. This wing configuration is placed on a rod at the center point between a top magnetic assembly and a bottom magnetic assembly. The top and bottom magnetic assemblies influence the pivot points of the wings to provide optimum positioning to come in contact with wind force. This optimizing of the spinning toy therefore enables a user to create a spinning wheel of wings advantageously using wind optimized by the magnetic force between the top magnetic assembly and bottom magnetic assembly. This complete assembly is placed on a mounting arm and therefore creates a unique and effective entertainment toy for a child.

In reference to FIG. 1, a magnetic spinning toy in accordance with the present invention is depicted. The magnetic spinning toy includes a top magnetic assembly 17 and a bottom magnetic assembly 19. The magnetic assemblies are mounted on a rod 25 with a plurality of rotating wings 20 positioned on the rod 25 extending from a center disk. The top magnetic assembly 17 includes copper tubing 12. This copper tubing 12 includes a doughnut magnet 15 at the bottom of the top magnetic assembly 19. Within the copper tubing 12 are magnets 10. As a result, magnetic forces are generated within the copper tubing 12 to influence the positioning of wings 20. A similar magnetic assembly 19 is provided at the bottom of the rod 25. This magnetic assembly 19 includes copper tubing 14 with a doughnut magnet 15 at the top of the magnetic assembly 19. Further magnets 10 are embedded within the copper tubing 14.

The wings 20 are further shown in FIG. 2 with a focused or close up depiction of an individual wing 20a. The wing 20a as shown includes a wing-shaped top surface 31 that pivots about a pivot point 35. String 34 is also included through openings provided within the wing 20a. Further shown in this FIG. 2 is the wind direction 33 across the top surface of the wing 20a. As a result, the wing 20a pivots across the pivot point 35 to provide directional application of force onto the wing 20a. This pivot point 35 is also influenced by the magnetic forces between the top magnetic assembly 17 and the bottom magnetic assembly 19. Therefore, it increases the application of wind force onto the wings and as a result increase speed of rotation of the wing assembly around the rod 25. A mounting pole 40 is also provided as shown in FIG. 1. This mounting pole 40 includes a top receiver 42 and base 44. The mounting pole arm 40 receives the assembly of top magnetic assembly 17 and bottom magnetic assembly 19 through a top connector 24 and bottom connector 22. As a result, this complete magnetic spinning toy provides a novel and interesting configuration of entertainment for any child. Further the pivoting of a wing enables the toy to position for the best angle to receive wind force for spinning purposes. The instant invention has been shown and described in what it considers to be the most practical and preferred embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made there from within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art.
