CUSHION

The present invention discloses a cushion for providing a user to sit on. The cushion includes a base layer, a seat layer and a supporting portion. The seat layer is configured on the base layer for providing the user to sit on. The supporting portion is configured between the base layer and the seat layer for supporting the user's ischial tuberosity. The seat layer is made with the material of the good covering shape, thus it can release user's upper body, hips and legs. Furthermore, by using the hard supporting portion for supporting the user's ischial tuberosities, the cushion makes the weight of the user's upper body be transmitted uniformly to the seat layer. Therefore, the cushion can prevent the user's hips and legs from some physical pains such as sore, ache, and pain due to long period of partial stress.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a cushion, more particularly, to a cushion for making the user's spine straight, supporting ischial tuberosity, and releasing user's upper body, hips, and legs stress.

2. Description of the Prior Art

Due to the development of modern life, many people in modern times have to work in a way of remaining sitting for a great length of time. In many situations, such as resting, meditation, or work with the desktop, people are used to utilizing cushions to provide increased support and comfort. Due to the cushion's effect on supporting and pressure-releasing, the user's upper body, hips, and legs can be released and thus the energy consumption of human body can be reduced.

Furthermore, it is known that human lumbar spine's load comes mainly from the weight of the upper body, upper limb movements, and other external force or weight applied thereto. As long as the body is not sitting in a straight posture, the upper body's weight will be dispersed unevenly and thus leads to hump so that the pressure cannot be effectively passed to the cushion. Partial pressure from upper body leads to damage on lumbar spine and causes physical pains such as sore, ache, and pain. The irritation and pain further lead to the spirit of lax, inattention, which means a waste of time in the modern era of efficiency.

The conventional cushion used to be in good effect on cushioning good covering shape for dispersing the weight of the user's upper body. However, the user cannot effectively straighten the spine for a long period of time and thus causes spine's distortions. The spine will be in a distortion state, and the force on the sacral vertebrae and coccyx causes poor blood circulation and slow nerve conduction, which results in irritation or pain.

In conventional technique, the cushion used to be in pairs with a seat in order to straighten the user's trunk, and the seat's shape and size must match the cushion. In spite of the conventional technique cushion's effect on straightening the user's spine and preventing sacral vertebrae and coccyx from compression, the cushion cannot be used alone, which results in not only the use of inconvenience but also the unavailability for the mediators.

Thus, the above-mentioned technology still has many disadvantages, and it is not a good design. Therefore, it needs to be improved. In conclusion, the present invention provides a cushion for daily normal usage or for meditation. The cushion enables a user to achieve a spine naturally straight posture with comfort in order to prevent the user's sacral vertebrae and coccyx from compression.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Therefore, the present inventor with many years engaged in the manufacture and development of related products and design experience went through the detailed design and careful assessment to finally confirm that the present invention is practically usable.

A primary object of the present invention is to provide a cushion. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the cushion comprises a supporting portion and a seat layer. The supporting portion is used for supporting the user. The seat layer is configured on the supporting portion for supporting the user, wherein the hardness of the seat layer is less than the hardness of the supporting portion. Furthermore, the present invention cushion comprises a base layer for supporting the supporting portion and the seat layer, and the cushion is used on providing the user's waist, back or neck to rely on.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a cushion used on providing a user to sit on. According to another embodiment of the present invention, the cushion comprises a base layer, a seat layer, and a supporting portion. The seat layer is configured on the base layer for providing the user to sit on. The supporting portion is configured between the base layer and the seat layer for supporting the user's ischial tuberosity as well as to prevent sacral vertebrae and coccyx from compression. The hardness of the seat layer is less than the hardness of the supporting portion.

The width of the supporting portion is greater than the distance between two ischial tuberosities of the user, and the width of the seat layer is greater than the width of hips of the user.

The supporting portion comprises a central pressure-releasing portion and a supporting ring, and the central pressure-releasing portion is set in the supporting ring, and the user's ischial tuberosity is supported by the supporting ring, and the hardness of the central pressure-releasing portion is less than the hardness of the supporting ring. The width of the central pressure-releasing portion is less than the distance between two ischial tuberosities of the user.

According to another embodiment of the present invention, the cushion comprises a base layer, a supporting layer, and a seat layer. The supporting layer is configured on the base layer and comprises a supporting portion and a pressure-releasing auxiliary portion. The supporting portion is used for supporting the user's ischial tuberosity, the pressure-releasing auxiliary portion has a central hole, and the supporting portion is set in the central hole. The seat layer is configured on the supporting layer for providing the user to sit on. The hardness of the seat layer is less than the hardness of the supporting portion.

The width of the supporting portion is greater than the distance between two ischial tuberosities of the user, and the width of the seat layer is greater than the width of hips of the user.

The supporting portion comprises a central pressure-releasing portion and a supporting ring, and the central pressure-releasing portion is set in the supporting ring, the user's ischial tuberosity is supported by the supporting ring, and the hardness of the central pressure-releasing portion is less than the hardness of the supporting ring. The width of the central pressure-releasing portion is less than the distance between two ischial tuberosities of the user.

In conclusion, the seat layer of the present invention cushion provides a soft, uniformly cushioning, and good covering shape material for a user to sit on. At the same time, most of the user's upper body weight can be transmitted through the user's ischial tuberosity and the pressure can be uniformly released by the hard supporting portion. Therefore, the cushion can prevent the user's hips and legs from some physical pains such as sore, ache, and pain due to partial stress, especially for those who meditate or sit for long period of time.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

A detailed description of the hereinafter described embodiments of the disclosed apparatus and method are presented herein by way of exemplification and not limitation with reference to the Figures. Although certain embodiments are shown and described in detail, it should be understood that various changes and modifications may be made without departing from the scope of the appended claims. The scope of the present invention will in no way be limited to the number of constituting components, the materials thereof, the shapes thereof, the relative arrangement thereof, etc., and are disclosed simply as an example of embodiments of the present invention.

In an embodiment of the present invention, the cushion comprises a supporting portion and a seat layer. The supporting portion is used for supporting the user. The seat layer is configured on the supporting portion for supporting the user, wherein the hardness of the seat layer is less than the hardness of the supporting portion. Furthermore, the present invention cushion comprises a base layer for supporting the supporting portion and the seat layer, and the cushion is used for providing the user's waist, back or neck to rely on.

Please refer to FIG. 1, FIG. 2, and FIG. 3. FIG. 1 shows a diagram of human pelvis in conventional technique. FIG. 2 shows a diagram of the cushion 1 in one embodiments of the present invention. FIG. 3 shows an exploded drawing of the cushion 1 in one embodiment of the present invention. In some embodiments of the present invention, the cushion 1 comprises a base layer 12, a seat layer 14, and a supporting portion 16. The seat layer 14 is configured on the base layer 12 for providing the user to sit on. The supporting portion 16 is configured between the base layer 12 and the seat layer 14 for supporting the user's ischial tuberosity as well as to prevent sacral vertebrae and coccyx from compression, wherein the hardness of the seat layer 14 is less than the hardness of the supporting portion 16.

The width of the supporting portion W16 is greater than the distance between two ischial tuberosities of the user Wi, and the width of the seat layer W14 is greater than the width of hips of the user Wa. The hardness of the supporting portion 16 is less than the hardness of the base layer 12.

Besides, the cushion 1 of the present invention shows a cylindrical appearance, and the diameter of the cylindrical appearance W14 is 38 cm.

It should be understand that the appearance of the present invention cushion 1 will in no way be limited to cylindrical, and may further be ellipse, square, or other ergonomic or special needs of the design.

Furthermore, the present invention cushion is used for providing the user to sit on or providing the user's waist, back or neck to rely on.

In some embodiments, the cylindrical seat layer 14 is excavated with the space of the desired supporting portion 16 in advance, and then is filled by packing the material of the supporting portion 16 into the space mentioned before; meanwhile the seat layer 14 and the supporting portion 16 are fixed together.

In other embodiments, the supporting portion 16 can be produced in advance. Next, the cylindrical seat layer 14 with the space desired is excavated. At last, the supporting portion 16 is fixed between the seat layer 14 and the base layer 12 by an adhesive method. Besides, the base layer 12 is made of general foam or aggregate foam, the supporting portion 16 is made of general foam, and the seat layer 14 is made of memory foam.

Please refer to FIG. 4. FIG. 4 shows an exploded drawing of the supporting portion 16 in one embodiment of the present invention. In some embodiments, the supporting portion 16 comprises a central pressure-releasing portion 161 and a supporting ring 162. The central pressure-releasing portion 161 is set in the supporting ring 162, the user's ischial tuberosity is supported by the supporting ring 162, and the hardness of the central pressure-releasing portion 161 is less than the hardness of the supporting ring 162. The width W161 of the central pressure-releasing portion 161 is less than the distance between two ischial tuberosities of the user W1.

In conventional technique, the female's distance between two ischial tuberosities is about 13.49 cm, and male is about 11.65 cm. The inner edge of the two ischial tuberosities is about 8.5˜9.5 cm. Hence, the width W16 of the supporting portion is set to 17.5 cm, and the width W161 of the central pressure-releasing portion 161 is set to 5.6 cm.

Besides, the materials of the seat layer 14 and the central pressure-releasing portion 161 are the same.

In some embodiments, the cushion 1 is placed on the dinette or an office chair area, the supporting portion 16 is used for supporting the user's ischial tuberosity, and the seat layer 14 is used for uniformly dispersing the user's weight. The cushion 1 enables the user to achieve a spine naturally straight posture, and the user only needs slightly attention to maintain natural straight on the lumbar spine, thoracic and cervical spine.

Please refer to FIG. 1, FIG. 5, and FIG. 6. FIG. 5 shows a diagram of the cushion 2 in another embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 6 shows an exploded drawing of the cushion 2 in another embodiment of the present invention. In some embodiments, the cushion 2 comprises a base layer 12, a supporting layer 22, and a seat layer 24. The supporting layer 22 is configured on the base layer 12 and comprises a supporting portion 221 and a pressure-releasing auxiliary portion 222. The supporting portion 221 is used for supporting the user's ischial tuberosity and to prevent sacral vertebrae and coccyx from compression. The pressure-releasing auxiliary portion 222 has a central hole, the supporting portion 221 is set in the central hole, and the hardness of the pressure-releasing auxiliary portion 222 is less than the hardness of the supporting portion 221. The seat layer 24 is configured on the supporting layer 22 for providing the user to sit on, wherein the hardness of the seat layer 24 is less than the hardness of the supporting portion 221.

The width of the supporting portion W221 is greater than the distance between two ischial tuberosities of the user Wi, and the width of the seat layer W24 is greater than the width of hips of the user Wa. The hardness of the supporting portion 221 is less than the hardness of the base layer 12.

In some embodiments, the supporting portion 221 can be produced in advance. Next, the pressure-releasing auxiliary portion 222 is sticked to the periphery of the supporting portion 221. At last, the supporting layer 22 is fixed between the seat layer 24 and the base layer 12 by an adhesive method.

Besides, the present invention cushion 2 comprises a breathable layer configured on the seat layer 24 for ventilating and perspiration, wherein the breathable layer materials may be palm wire, hemp yarn or artificial breathable perspiration fiber filaments, and the thickness of the breathable layer is 1 cm.

Please refer to FIG. 7. FIG. 7 shows an exploded drawing of the supporting portion in another embodiment of the present invention cushion 2. In some embodiments, the supporting portion 221 comprises a central pressure-releasing portion 2211 and a supporting ring 2212. The central pressure-releasing portion 2211 is set in the supporting ring 2212. The user's ischial tuberosity is supported by the supporting ring 2212. The hardness of the central pressure-releasing portion 2211 is less than the hardness of the supporting ring 2212. The width W2211 of the central pressure-releasing portion 2211 is less than the distance between two ischial tuberosities of the user Wi.

Besides, the central pressure-releasing portion 2211, the pressure-releasing auxiliary portion 222, and the materials of the seat layer 24 are the same.

In some embodiments, the central pressure-releasing portion 2211 is a hollow area.

In other embodiments, the central pressure-releasing portion 2211 is made of a breathable column in order to make cushion 2 with ventilation and perspiration. The breathable column materials may be palm wire, hemp yarn or artificial breathable perspiration fiber filaments, wherein the materials are as thin as possible to provide maximum comfort for the user.

In some embodiments, the base layer 12 is made of general foam or aggregate foam, the supporting portion 221 is made of general foam, and the seat layer 24 is made of memory foam.

In some embodiments, the cushion 2 is a zafu sitting cushion, usually used for meditation in convention. The seat layer 24 provides a meditator to sit on. At the same time, the height H12 of the base layer 12 is 2˜4 cm, the height H22 supporting layer 22 is 5˜6 cm, and the height H24 of the seat layer 24 is 6˜7 cm. Besides, the cushion 2 shows a cylindrical appearance, and the diameter W24 of the cylindrical appearance is 38 cm. The width W2210f the supporting portion 221 is 17.5 cm.

It should be understand that the appearance of the present invention cushion 2 will in no way be limited to cylindrical, and may further be ellipse, square, or other ergonomic or special needs of the design.

By the nature of the above, the cushion 2 provides the meditator to sit on. The hard supporting portion 221 is used for supporting the meditator's ischial tuberosities. In addition, the supporting portion 221 is covered by the seat layer 24 and the pressure-releasing auxiliary portion 222, with the characteristic of memory foam's pressure-releasing, and most of the meditator's upper body weight can be uniformly dispersed in order to prevent the user's sacral vertebrae and coccyx from compression. The cushion 2 enables a meditator to achieve a naturally straight spine and cross-legged posture, and the meditator only needs slightly attention to maintain natural straight on the lumbar spine, thoracic and cervical spine. As a result, the cushion can prevent the meditator's hips and legs from some physical pains such as sore, ache, and pain due to long period of partial stress, thus enabling the meditator to maintain in a comfortable and natural cross-legged posture.

In conclusion, the seat layer of the present invention cushion provides a soft, uniformly cushioning, and good covering shape material for a user to sit on. At the same time, most of the user's upper body weight can be transmitted through the user's ischial tuberosity and pressure can be uniformly released by the hard supporting portion. Therefore, the cushion can prevent the user's hips and legs from some physical pains such as sore, ache, and pain due to partial stress, especially for those who meditate or sit for long period of time.

With the examples and explanations mentioned above, the features and spirits of the invention are hopefully well described. More importantly, the present invention is not limited to the embodiment described herein. Those skilled in the art will readily observe that numerous modifications and alterations of the device may be made while retaining the teachings of the invention. Accordingly, the above disclosure should be construed as limited only by the metes and bounds of the appended claims.

Claims

1. A cushion, comprising:

a supporting portion, for supporting a user; and
a seat layer, configured on the supporting portion for supporting the user;
wherein the hardness of the seat layer is less than the hardness of the supporting portion, the width of the supporting portion is greater than a distance between two ischial tuberosities of the user, and the width of the seat layer is greater than the width of hips of the user.

2. A cushion, for providing a user to sit on, comprising:

a base layer;
a supporting layer, configured on the base layer, comprising a supporting portion and a pressure-releasing auxiliary portion, wherein the supporting portion is used for supporting the user's ischial tuberosity, and the pressure-releasing auxiliary portion has a central hole, and the supporting portion is set in the central hole; and
a seat layer, configured on the supporting layer for providing the user to sit on;
wherein the hardness of the seat layer is less than the hardness of the supporting portion, the width of the supporting portion is greater than a distance between two ischial tuberosities of the user, and the width of the seat layer is greater than the width of hips of the user.

3. The cushion of claim 2, wherein the supporting portion comprises a central pressure-releasing portion and a supporting ring; the central pressure-releasing portion is set in the supporting ring; the user's ischial tuberosity is supported by the supporting ring; and the hardness of the central pressure-releasing portion is less than the hardness of the supporting ring.

4. The cushion of claim 3, wherein the width of the central pressure-releasing portion is less than the distance between two ischial tuberosities of the user.

5. The cushion of claim 3, wherein the material of the central pressure-releasing portion and the seat layer are the same, the cushion shows a cylindrical appearance, and the diameter of the cylindrical appearance is 38 cm.

6. The cushion of claim 1, further comprising a base layer for supporting the supporting portion and the seat layer, wherein the cushion is used for providing the user to sit on or providing the user's waist, back or neck to rely on.

7. The cushion of claim 6, wherein the hardness of the supporting portion is less than the hardness of the base layer.

8. The cushion of claim 7, wherein the base layer is made of general foam, the supporting portion is made of general foam, and the seat layer is made of memory foam.

9. The cushion of claim 2, further comprising a breathable layer configured on the seat layer for ventilating and perspiration, wherein the breathable layer is made of palm wire, hemp yarn or artificial breathable perspiration fiber filaments, and the thickness of the breathable layer is 1 cm.
