Camouflage Garment

Abstract

A camouflage garment. The camouflage garment provides one or more appendages that are affixed to a base fabric, such as a shirt, pants, and jacket, that alters the appearance of the wearer from the surrounding area. The appendages include one or more panels in an overlapping relation that can be fastened at a first end to expose a desired indicia present on each side or face of the panels. In one embodiment, each appendage has a shape of one or more artificial leaves. The indicia are configured such that a user may match corresponding indicia of the panels, the base garment, and a first region of the camouflage garment. In this way, the camouflage garment is reconfigurable and can correspond with various environments or seasons.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a camouflage garment. More specifically, the invention relates to a camouflage garment comprising a plurality of appendages, wherein the appendages can be generally shaped as artificial leaves. The appendages can be affixed to a garment at a first end and removably affixed at a second end in order to provide for the panels of the appendages to be revealed. Thus, the camouflage garment provides an interchangeable camouflage to accommodate various environments and seasons.

It is important for hunters to remain camouflaged while tracking an animal. Hunters often wear various camouflaged garments, such as jackets, hats, and pants, among others. However, conventional camouflage includes only a specific pattern and coloration tailored to a single environment and may not help the hunter to blend in with their current environment. Conventional camouflaged garments do not include natural elements, such as leaves or branches, and thus do not allow the hunter to completely blend in with his or her surroundings.

Further, conventional camouflage garments include a single pattern and coloration that cannot be adjusted or changed. Thus, a camouflaged jacket that is suited for use in the summer having green and brown coloration is not likely to be effective as camouflage in the winter when the landscape includes white and grey colors. However, conventional camouflage garments do not provide the hunter with means for adjusting the look or appearance of the garment. Thus, a customizable camouflage garment is desired.

In light of the devices disclosed in the known art, it is submitted that the present invention substantially diverges in design elements from the devices in the known art and consequently it is clear that there is a need in the art for an improvement to existing camouflage garments devices. In this regard, the instant invention substantially fulfills these needs.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known types of camouflage garments now present in the art, the present invention provides a new camouflage garment wherein the same can be utilized for providing convenience for the user rwith various environments or seasons such as winter, autumn, spring and summer.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a new and improved camouflage garment that has all of the advantages of the prior art and none of the disadvantages.

It is another object of the present invention to provide a camouflage garment that is selectively reconfigurable.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a camouflage garment having a plurality of appendages shaped as artificial leaves, wherein the each appendage includes one or more panels that are shaped as individual leaf members.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a camouflage garment having a plurality of panels hingedly connected to one another.

Other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Reference is made herein to the attached drawings. Like reference numerals are used throughout the drawings to depict like or similar elements of the camouflage garment. For the purposes of presenting a brief and clear description of the present invention, the preferred embodiment will be discussed as used for hunting. The figures are intended for representative purposes only and should not be considered to be limiting in any respect.

Referring to FIG. 1, there is shown a perspective view of the one or more appendages of the camouflage garment in a closed position. The camouflage garment 10 provides a reconfigurable article of clothing that allows a user to selectively control the pattern and appearance of the camouflage garment 10. The camouflage garment 10 includes a base fabric 12 with one or more appendages 11 hingedly affixed thereto. The base fabric 12 defines a portion of the camouflage garment and may be comprised of any material, such as polyester, wool, and the like. In the shown embodiment, the camouflage garment 10 is a jacket with a torso portion and arm portions. However, in alternative embodiments, the camouflage garment 10 may comprise shirts, pants, and the like.

The appendage 11 includes one or more panels (13 shown in FIG. 2) in an overlapping relation in the closed configuration. In the shown embodiment, the camouflage garment 10 includes multiple appendages 11 disposed the various regions of the jacket. The one or more panels 13 are hingedly affixed to the base fabric 12 at a second end 16 and free at an opposing first end. In the shown embodiment, one or more panels 13 are all hingedly affixed to the base fabric 12 at a single connection point via a living hinge. In a closed configuration, the one or more panels 13 are in an overlapping relation. In the illustrated embodiment, each appendage 11 is shown as a leaf with numerous sizes and orientations. However, the appendage may resemble other natural elements that serve to camouflage the wearer, such as grass, sticks, and the like.

The one or more panels 13 include a panel fastener 14 disposed at the free first end (15 shown in FIG. 3). The base fabric 12 includes one or more base fasteners 17, whereby each base fastener 17 is configured to couple with the panel fastener 14. Each panel 13 allows for selective movement independent of the other panels 13. Generally, the panels 13 are flexible and easily manipulated by hand. For example, an exterior panel may be rotated about the hinge, while the other panels remain in the same initial position, as shown in FIG. 3. Thus, the camouflage garment 10 is configured to enable a user to select the relative configuration of each of the appendages 11.

Each of the base fabric 12, the first side of the panels, and the second side of the panels comprise an indicia. The indicia may function as a camouflage that allows a user wearing the camouflage garment 10 to blend in with the surrounding area. In this way, the wearer is not easily identifiable by animals and other viewers. Alternatively, the indicia may be patterned or include high-visibility coloration or reflective markings to clearly identify the wearer. The use of indicia with the reconfigurable panels allows for safe and desired use of the camouflage garment 10.

Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, there is shown a close-up view of the camouflage garment in a first open position and in a second open position, respectively. The one or more panels 13 includes one or more interior panels disposed between an exterior panel 18 and a first region 21 of the camouflage garment 10. The first region 21 is defined as a region of the base fabric 12 that is dimensioned to match the dimensions of one or more panels 13. In the closed configuration, the panels 13 overlap and stack with the first region 21 so as to be entirely covered. In the shown embodiment, the first region 21 is integral and coextensive with the base fabric 12. However, in alternative embodiments, the first region 21 may be raised or lowered from the surrounding base fabric 12.

The camouflage garment 10 provides for selective reconfiguration and positioning of each panel of the appendage 11. As shown in FIG. 2, the panel 13 includes a pair of fasteners 14A, 14B at the free end, wherein the fasteners 14A, 14B are configured to couple the panel 13 to the preceding and subsequent panels and base garment 12. Each side of each of the panels 13 and the base fabric 12 also comprises an indicia that allows a wearer to reach a desired look or appearance of the garment 10. The exterior panel 18 comprises an exterior side having a first indicia, wherein the base fabric 12 includes the same first indicia. The exterior side is defined as being the outermost panel in the closed configuration. In the closed configuration, the camouflage garment 10 appears to include only the first indicia thereon.

The first region 21 includes a second indicia and the interior side of an innermost panel of the one or more panels 13 also includes the second indicial. As shown in FIG. 2, the first open position exposes the interior side of an innermost panel of the one or more panels 13 and the first region 21. Thus, the panel 13 can be folded outwardly about the second end 16 to reveal a matching second indicia.

A pair of adjacent faces 22, as defined as the sides of adjacent panels of the one or more panels that are oriented towards each other, include a matching third indicia. As shown in FIG. 3, the second open position exposes the adjacent faces 22. Thus, revealing a matching second indicia. Regardless of the number of interior panels, the camouflage garment 10 provide for selective reconfiguration and positioning of each panel of the appendage.

It is therefore submitted that the instant invention has been shown and described in what is considered to be the most practical and preferred embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art. With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.

Claims

1) A camouflage garment, comprising:

one or more appendages hingedly affixed to a base fabric, the base fabric defining a portion of the camouflage garment;

the one or more appendages comprising one or more panels in an overlapping relation in a closed configuration, each of the one or more panels having a panel fastener disposed at a free first end;

the base fabric including one or more base fasteners, each base fastener configured to couple with the panel fastener;

the one or more panels including an exterior panel;

the base fabric comprising a first indicia;

the exterior panel comprising an exterior side, the exterior side defining an outermost panel of the one or more panels in the closed configuration;

the exterior side comprising the first indicia;

the base fabric including a first region having a second indicia;

an interior side of an innermost panel of the one or more panels including the second indicial; and

wherein a pair of adjacent faces includes a matching third indicia, the pair of adjacent faces defined as sides of adjacent panels of the one or more panels oriented towards each other.

2) The camouflage garment of claim 1, wherein the panel fastener comprises a first attachment point on a first side and a second attachment point on a second side.

3) The camouflage garment of claim 1, wherein the one or more panels comprise one interior panel.

4) The camouflage garment of claim 1, wherein each of the one or more appendages comprises a leaf shape.

5) The camouflage garment of claim 1, wherein each of the one or more panels are identically dimensioned.

6) The camouflage garment of claim 1, wherein the first region is dimensioned to match a dimension of each of the one or more appendages.

7) The camouflage garment of claim 1, wherein each of the one or more appendages are dimensionally identical.

8) The camouflage garment of claim 1, wherein the first region is coextensive with the base fabric.
