A convertible garment that includes: a top portion for breast coverage; a waist section; and a panty bottom, wherein the top portion adjoins to the waist section which in turn is attached to the panty bottom. The convertible garment may include an extension connected to the panty bottom, where the extension is adapted to function as a slip or a skirt.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Field of Invention

The present invention relates to a convertible garment used for various applications.

Description of Related Art

Women have various garments for various styles and occasions. Many times certain garments may be appropriate at certain events and other garments are more appropriate at other events depending on the event. As such women must keep an extensive wardrobe of various garments with suitable styling and purposes. The use of some garments have been developed to create dual purpose garments. Such garments have the advantage of the ability to convert into different styles for different occasions.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a convertible garment that includes: a top portion for breast coverage; a waist section; and a panty bottom, wherein the top portion adjoins to the waist section which in turn is attached to the panty bottom. The convertible garment may include an extension connected to the panty bottom, where the extension is adapted to function as a slip or a skirt.

FIG. 1 depicts a first embodiment of a convertible garment in accordance with the present invention.

FIG. 2 depicts a second embodiment of a convertible garment in accordance with the present invention.

FIG. 3 depicts a third embodiment of a convertible garment in accordance with the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The present invention relates to a convertible garment that may be utilized as a bathing suit, an undergarment or in the alternative a cocktail dress. The convertible garment according to the present invention is a one-piece bathing suit as depicted in FIG. 1. Convertible Garment 10 includes a Top Portion 11 with Shoulder Straps 12a, 12b. A Waist Section or Midsection 15 is also shown along with a Panty Bottom 13. This forms the basis of the Convertible Garment 10, which may initially be utilized as a bathing suit as shown in FIG. 1. The sections are joined together at appropriate seams and then an additional Section 18 is shown in FIGS. 2 and 3. This Garment 10 is easily converted to an undergarment 18, which is provided as a slip as shown in FIG. 2. This slip provides an all-in-one undergarment such that the bathing suit as shown in FIG. 1 is converted to an undergarment that can be utilized with a dress and/or skirt with a blouse configuration.

Further, a third embodiment of the present invention is shown in FIG. 3. FIG. 3 shows Convertible Garment 10 in the form of a dress, where the Extension 18 is used as a skirt. This embodiment creates a cocktail dress suitable for stylish wear in the evening. Midsection or Waist Section 15 provides a waist support to provide tummy control. The crotch area depicted in FIG. 1 may include a snap crotch so that it could be conveniently worn by a user.

The instant invention has been shown and described in what it considers to be the most practical and preferred embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made there from within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art.

Claims

1. A convertible garment comprising:

a top portion for breast coverage;
a waist section; and
a panty bottom wherein the top portion adjoins to the waist section which in turn is attached to the panty bottom.

2. The convertible garment according to claim 1, where an extension is connected to the panty bottom.

3. The convertible garment according to claim 2, where the extension is adapted to function as a slip.

4. Claim 4 a convertible garment according to claim 2 where the extension functions as a skirt.
