A ceiling fan blade cleaner comprising: a main sheath member including an outer surface and an inner surface and a plurality of sheath wall members. The inner surface defines an interior volume; the inner surface is formed from a material adapted to attract and retain dirt and allergens thereon. The plurality of sheath wall members are spaced from one another and attached to the inner surface of the main sheath member thereby forming a plurality of individual ceiling fan blade sheath portions. Wherein each of the individual ceiling fan blade sheath portion is adapted to be placed upon and surround a respective ceiling fan blade of a ceiling fan, be pressed against the surfaces thereof, and then slid off the surfaces, thereby cleaning said surfaces by removing dirt and allergens therefrom.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The following includes information that may be useful in understanding the present invention(s). It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art, or material, to the presently described or claimed inventions, or that any publication or document that is specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates generally to the field of covering devices for fan blades on ceiling fans and more specifically relates to a ceiling fan blade cleaner adapted to be placed upon and surround a respective ceiling fan blade of a ceiling fan, be pressed against the surfaces thereof, and then slid off of the surfaces, thereby cleaning the surfaces by removing dirt and allergens therefrom.

2. Description of the Related Art

Americans spend an average of 90% of their life indoors. Whether working, shopping, sleeping, eating, or attending school, most people spend the majority of their lives inside. Because so much time is spent indoors, most conscientious consumers regularly perform simple household chores in order to maintain a sanitary living environment. Vacuuming debris from carpeting, polishing furniture, waxing floors, and cleaning windows are necessary tasks which must be done regularly to ensure a healthy and clean household. Unfortunately, regardless of how much time one spends cleaning, harmful airborne contaminants that can dramatically affect a person's overall health can still infiltrate the home.

In particular, dust, dirt, allergens, and debris can be quickly and easily distributed through a living room, kitchen, bedroom, or den via a standard ceiling fan. While ceiling fans offer consumers an energy efficient means of cooling their environments, these devices readily attract harmful allergens and irritating dust and debris. Easily settling on the dormant blades of a ceiling fan, microscopic dust mites, mold spores, pollen, bacteria, and pet dander are quickly blown about the room once the fan is activated. Inhibiting breathing and instigating illness, these airborne contaminants can often times contribute to poor indoor air quality.

Resulting in itchy and watery eyes, sneezing, and coughing, dirt, dust, and grime hidden high atop the blades of ceiling fans can cause allergic reactions and, for many people, dangerous asthmatic episodes. Because of this problem, regularly cleaning the blades of ceiling fans is essential in order to maintain an overall clean room. A daunting task, cleaning fan blades in a conventional manner requires carefully wiping away dirt and debris with a dust cloth, paper towel, or similar cleaning tool. As such, an improved means to sanitize and clean ceiling fan blades is needed.

Various attempts have been made to solve problems found in covering device art. Among these are found in: U.S. Pub. No. 2009/0202348 to Rachel Felicia Culberson; U.S. Pub. No. 2013/0340190 to Carol A. Allen; and U.S. Pub. No. 2012/0224967 to Taylor Radabaugh. This prior art is representative of covering devices for fan blades on ceiling fans.

Ideally, a ceiling fan blade cleaner should be user-friendly and safe in-use and, yet should operate reliably and be manufactured at a modest expense. Thus, a need exists for a ceiling fan blade cleaner adapted to be placed upon and surround a respective ceiling fan blade of a ceiling fan, be pressed against the surfaces thereof, and then slid off of the surfaces, thereby cleaning the surfaces by removing dirt and allergens therefrom and to avoid the above-mentioned problems.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known covering devices for fan blades on ceiling fans art, the present invention provides a Ceiling Fan Blade Cleaner. The general purpose of the present invention, which will be described subsequently in greater detail is to provide a ceiling fan blade cleaner should be user-friendly and safe in-use and, yet should operate reliably and be manufactured at a modest expense. Thus, a need exists for a ceiling fan blade cleaner adapted to be placed upon and surround a respective ceiling fan blade of a ceiling fan, be pressed against the surfaces thereof, and then slid off of the surfaces, thereby cleaning the surfaces by removing dirt and allergens therefrom.

A ceiling fan blade cleaner comprising: a main sheath member including an outer surface and an inner surface and a plurality of sheath wall members. The inner surface defines an interior volume; the inner surface is formed from a material adapted to attract and retain dirt and allergens thereon. The plurality of sheath wall members are spaced from one another and attached to the inner surface of the main sheath member thereby forming a plurality of individual ceiling fan blade sheath portions, wherein each of the individual ceiling fan blade sheath portion defines an interior volume adapted to substantially surround a blade of a ceiling fan. The plurality of sheath wall members are formed from a material adapted to attract and retain dirt and allergens thereon. Wherein each of the individual ceiling fan blade sheath portion is adapted to be placed upon and surround a respective ceiling fan blade of a ceiling fan, be pressed against the surfaces thereof, and then slid off the surfaces, thereby cleaning said surfaces by removing dirt and allergens therefrom.

The present invention holds significant improvements and serves as a ceiling fan blade cleaner. For purposes of summarizing the invention, certain aspects, advantages, and novel features of the invention have been described herein. It is to be understood that not necessarily all such advantages may be achieved in accordance with any one particular embodiment of the invention. Thus, the invention may be embodied or carried out in a manner that achieves or optimizes one advantage or group of advantages as taught herein without necessarily achieving other advantages as may be taught or suggested herein. The features of the invention which are believed to be novel are particularly pointed out and distinctly claimed in the concluding portion of the specification. These and other features, aspects, and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings and detailed description.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The figures which accompany the written portion of this specification illustrate embodiments and method(s) of use for the present invention, a Ceiling Fan Blade Cleaner constructed and operative according to the teachings of the present invention.

FIG. 1 shows a perspective view illustrating a Ceiling Fan Blade Cleaner having a rectangular shape according to an embodiment of the present invention.

FIG. 2 is a perspective view illustrating a Ceiling Fan Blade Cleaner having an oblong shape according to an embodiment of the present invention.

FIG. 3 is a perspective view illustrating a first in-use condition of the Ceiling Fan Blade Cleaner attached to a ceiling fan blade on a ceiling fan according to an embodiment of the present invention of FIG. 1.

FIG. 4 is a perspective view illustrating a second in-use condition placed upon and surround the ceiling fan blade of the ceiling fan, be pressed against the surfaces thereof, and then slid off the surfaces of Ceiling Fan Blade Cleaner according to an embodiment of the present invention of FIG. 1.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

As discussed above, embodiments of the present invention relate to a covering device for fan blades on ceiling fans and more specifically relates to a ceiling fan blade cleaner should be user-friendly and safe in-use and, yet should operate reliably and be manufactured at a modest expense. Thus, a need exists for a ceiling fan blade cleaner adapted to be placed upon and surround a respective ceiling fan blade of a ceiling fan, be pressed against the surfaces thereof, and then slid off of the surfaces, thereby cleaning the surfaces by removing dirt and allergens therefrom.

Generally speaking, the Ceiling Fan Blade Cleaner comprising a novel product offering consumers a practical solution to the aforementioned challenges. As the name implies, the Ceiling Fan Blade Cleaner is a line of enhanced sheathes that are specially designed for easily cleaning ceiling fan blades. Design intent is to offer consumers an easier and more effectual means of removing dust and grime that accumulates on the blades of ceiling fans.

The Ceiling Fan Blade Cleaner may comprise a series of five interconnected units, with each individual sheathe configured to mimic the outline of standard ceiling fan blades. As such, the units would be generally rectangular or oblong in shape, with a variety of sizes and shapes made available to accommodate the various style ceiling fan blades available.

The Ceiling Fan Blade Cleaner may be manufactured of lightweight synthetic material and woven with stretchy elastic to ensure a custom like fit. The Ceiling Fan Blade Cleaner may be configured specifically to attract dust and debris, trapping this dust and dirt within the interior of each sleeve. The inner surface of the Ceiling Fan Blade Cleaner may boast a textured, porous surface, on which dust and debris would naturally cling. Additionally, the Cleaners may be augmented with a cleansing solvent along with a scented component to leave behind a pleasant smell.

As envisioned, the Ceiling Fan Blade Cleaner may be extremely simple to use. Each individual compartment may be inserted over each fan blade, with the sheathes fitted around the blades as one would apply a glove or a sock. In this manner, the Ceiling Fan Blade Cleaner may be able to trap dust and dirt on each side of the blade, so that when the sheathe is removed by pressing both hands on each side and sliding it off, all debris is completely wiped away from the blade's surface and contained within the sleeve. When finished, each Ceiling Fan Blade Cleaner may be discarded in the closest garbage receptacle.

The Ceiling Fan Blade Cleaner would enable consumers to clean their ceiling fans in a simple and efficient manner Eliminating the need to stir up piles of dust that quickly cover furniture and flooring beneath the fan, the Ceiling Fan Blade Cleaner may allow consumers to easily clean their ceiling fan trapping and removing detritus from each blade. Consumers should appreciate that dust, dirt, grime and allergens would be contained within the Cleaner, as opposed to blowing about the room.

Perhaps most importantly, because dust, mildew, mold spores, pet dander and other airborne allergens would adhere to the inside of the Ceiling Fan Blade Cleaner, use of this product could greatly reduce the amount of harmful allergens permeating the household environment. Resulting in fresher, cleaner air, the Ceiling Fan Blade Cleaner may be greatly beneficial to those who suffer allergies, asthma, or similar respiratory ailments.

Simple to use, the Ceiling Fan Blade Cleaner may be easily attached and quickly removed from any ceiling fan blade in an almost effortless fashion, greatly reducing the tediousness that is common to this chore. As such, the Ceiling Fan Blade Cleaner should receive an enthusiastic market reception.

Referring now to FIGS. 1-4, showing perspective views illustrating ceiling fan blade cleaner 100 according to an embodiment of the present invention of FIG. 1.

Ceiling fan blade cleaner 100 comprises: main sheath member 110 including outer surface 120 and inner surface 140 and a plurality of sheath wall members 160. Outer surface 120 of main sheath member 110 is formed from a plastic material. Inner surface 140 defines interior volume 150; inner surface 140 is formed from a material adapted to attract and retain dirt and allergens thereon.

Plurality of sheath wall members 160 are spaced from one another and attached to inner surface 140 of main sheath member 110 thereby forming plurality of individual ceiling fan blade sheath portions 170, wherein each of individual ceiling fan blade sheath portion 170 defines interior volume 180 adapted to substantially surround blade 320 of ceiling fan 310 as shown in first in-use condition 300 of FIG. 3 and second in-use condition 350 of FIG. 4. Wherein each of individual ceiling fan blade sheath portion 170 forms interior volume 180 having rectangular shape 184 as shown in FIG. 1. Wherein each individual ceiling fan blade sheath portion 170 forms interior volume 180 having oblong shape 200 as shown in FIG. 2. Wherein individual ceiling fan blade sheath portion 170 are formed offset from one another thereby forming stepped-type configuration 190 adapted to allow user 360 to clean successive fan blades 320 without cross-pollinating an adjacent ceiling fan blade sheath portions 170 as shown in FIG. 4.

Plurality of sheath wall members 160 are formed from a material adapted to attract and retain dirt and allergens thereon. Main sheath member 110 and plurality of sheath wall members 160 are formed from a bio-degradable material. Main sheath member 110 and plurality of sheath wall members 160 are disposable. Main sheath member 110 and plurality of sheath wall members 160 may also be reusable. Main sheath member 110 and plurality of sheath wall members 160 are formed from a synthetic material that is woven with an elastic material. Wherein the inner surface 140 of main sheath member 110 and plurality of sheath wall members 160 include cleaning solvent 114 placed thereon. Cleaning solvent 114 is chosen from a list of cleaning solvents 114 consisting of ammonia, soap, acetic acid, and sodium hypochlorite. Main sheath member 110 and plurality of sheath wall members 160 are formed from porous material adapted to attract and retain dirt and allergens thereto.

Inner surface 140 of main sheath member 110 and plurality of sheath wall members 160 include a scented material thereon adapted to leave behind a chosen scent upon ceiling fan blades 320 of ceiling fan 310. Inner surface 140 of main sheath member 110 and plurality of sheath wall members 160 include scented material 118 thereon adapted to leave behind a chosen scent upon ceiling fan blades 320 of ceiling fan 310.

Wherein each of the individual ceiling fan blade sheath portion 170 is adapted to be placed upon and surround a respective ceiling fan blade 320 of ceiling fan 310, be pressed against the surfaces thereof, and then slid off the surfaces, thereby cleaning the surfaces by removing dirt and allergens therefrom as shown in second in-use condition 350 of FIG. 4. Wherein there are four sheath wall members 160 thereby forming five ceiling fan blade sheath portion 170, such that said ceiling fan blade cleaner 100 is adapted to clean blades 320 of ceiling fan 310 having five blades.

The embodiments of the invention described herein are exemplary and numerous modifications, variations and rearrangements can be readily envisioned to achieve substantially equivalent results, all of which are intended to be embraced within the spirit and scope of the invention. Further, the purpose of the foregoing abstract is to enable the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the public generally, and especially the scientist, engineers and practitioners in the art who are not familiar with patent or legal terms or phraseology, to determine quickly from a cursory inspection the nature and essence of the technical disclosure of the application.

Claims

1. A ceiling fan blade cleaner comprising:

a main sheath member including: an outer surface; and an inner surface; wherein said inner surface defines an interior volume; wherein said inner surface is formed from a material adapted to attract and retain dirt and allergens thereon; and
a plurality of sheath wall members; wherein said plurality of sheath wall members are spaced from one another and attached to said inner surface of said main sheath member thereby forming a plurality of individual ceiling fan blade sheath portions, wherein each said individual ceiling fan blade sheath portion defines an interior volume adapted to substantially surround a blade of a ceiling fan; and wherein said plurality of sheath wall members are formed from a material adapted to attract and retain dirt and allergens thereon;
wherein each said individual ceiling fan blade sheath portion is adapted to be placed upon and surround a respective ceiling fan blade of a ceiling fan, be pressed against the surfaces thereof, and then slid off said surfaces, thereby cleaning said surfaces by removing dirt and allergens therefrom.

2. The ceiling fan blade cleaner of claim 1, wherein there are four said sheath wall members thereby forming five ceiling fan blade sheath portion, such that said ceiling fan blade cleaner is adapted to clean the blades of a ceiling fan having five blades.

3. The ceiling fan blade cleaner of claim 1, wherein each said individual ceiling fan blade sheath portion forms an interior volume having a rectangular shape.

4. The ceiling fan blade cleaner of claim 1, wherein each said individual ceiling fan blade sheath portion forms an interior volume having a oblong shape.

5. The ceiling fan blade cleaner of claim 1, wherein said main sheath member and said plurality of sheath wall members are formed from a synthetic material that is woven with an elastic material.

6. The ceiling fan blade cleaner of claim 1, wherein said inner surface of said main sheath member and said plurality of sheath wall members are formed from porous material adapted to attract and retain dirt and allergens thereto.

7. The ceiling fan blade cleaner of claim 1, wherein said inner surface of said main sheath member and said plurality of sheath wall members include a cleaning solvent placed thereon.

8. The ceiling fan blade cleaner of claim 5, wherein said inner surface of said main sheath member and said plurality of sheath wall members include a cleaning solvent placed thereon.

9. The ceiling fan blade cleaner of claim 1, wherein said inner surface of said main sheath member and said plurality of sheath wall members include a scented material thereon adapted to leave behind a chosen scent upon said ceiling fan blades of a said ceiling fan.

10. The ceiling fan blade cleaner of claim 8, wherein said inner surface of said main sheath member and said plurality of sheath wall members include a scented material thereon adapted to leave behind a chosen scent upon said ceiling fan blades of a said ceiling fan.

11. The ceiling fan blade cleaner of claim 1, wherein said individual ceiling fan blade sheath portion are formed offset from one another thereby forming a stepped-type configuration adapted to allow a user to clean successive fan blades without cross-pollinating an adjacent ceiling fan blade sheath portions.

12. The ceiling fan blade cleaner of claim 1, wherein said outer surface of said main sheath member is formed from a plastic material.

13. The ceiling fan blade cleaner of claim 1, wherein said main sheath member and said plurality of sheath wall members are formed from a bio-degradable material.

14. The ceiling fan blade cleaner of claim 7, wherein said cleaning solvent is chosen from a list of cleaning solvents consisting of ammonia, soap, acetic acid, and sodium hypochlorite.

15. The ceiling fan blade cleaner of claim 1 wherein said main sheath member and plurality of sheath wall members are disposable.

16. The ceiling fan blade cleaner of claim 1 wherein said main sheath member and plurality of sheath wall members are reusable.
