SYSTEM TO COMMUNICATE INFORMATION USING MOBILE-ENABLED APPLICATION

The present invention generally relates to the field of a system to communicate information using a mobile-enabled application and method thereof. The invention, particularly relates to system and method for a submitter to communicate information related to an incident such as crime, personal emergencies, medical emergencies, suspicion activities, using a mobile-enabled application to the targeted receiver system, such as local, state or federal agencies. The submitter can transfer live streaming video(s), voice memos, text message(s), picture(s) or any combination thereof related of the incident to the targeted received system on real time basis (optionally). The submitter must be an authenticate user.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION (1) Field of the Invention

The present invention generally relates to the field of a system to communicate information using a mobile-enabled application and method thereof. The invention, particularly relates to a system and method for a submitter to communicate information related to an incident using a mobile-enabled application to the targeted receiver system selected from local, state or federal agencies.

(2) Background of the Invention

Mobile applications have become a day to day requirement in the increasingly evolving mobile internet environment. A mobile application or mobile app as it is sometimes referred to, is a currently executing computer software application/program that can physically move information from one computer (mobile device) to another host server while it is being executed by the user. Mobile applications demonstrate many benefits and efficiencies and also immediacy of message/information distribution to an authorized host computer system.

The point of using a mobile app is to seamlessly connect and interact with customers, making it a valuable tool for the modern businesses. Apps reduce costs of SMS messages and paper newsletters. They simplify communicate by securely, instantly and directly messaging customers. Further, many government agencies are also connecting and interacting with the citizens via mobile applications only. Additionally, there are many mobile applications the citizens are utilizing to avail themselves of services from the local or state agencies, such as paying municipal bills, water bills, local taxes, transportation levies, getting business registrations, availing themselves of various certificates, etc.

Some different types of mobile applications to connect with the local, state or federal agencies are available in the prior art. For example, the following patents and non-patent literatures are provided for their supportive teachings and are all herein incorporated by reference: French government launched antiterrorist mobile application, “SAIP” (Système d'alerte et d'information des populations), launched to provide citizens to access useful advice and best practices on how to behave, tailored on the type of alert and the geographical area affected. The user will also be invited to share the information with his or her contacts on social media (See: http://www.forbes.com/sites/federicoguerrini/2016/06/17/worried-about-threats-to-euro-2016-france-launches-anti-terrorist-mobile-alert-app/#aa18d55451c5). Croton-Harmon School District has also developed a mobile application named as “Anonymous Alerts”, which helps empower students in the Croton-Harmon School District to report their concerns quickly using its new state-of-the-art patented anti-bullying and safety-reporting app (See: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2016/02/prweb13234036.htm). Further, Delhi traffic police′ mobile application encourages local residents to report the traffic violators by submitting videos/photos to the Delhi traffic police (See: http://www.bgtin/news/delhi-police-app-now-rewards-users-for-reporting-traffic-violations/). Many mobile applications, such as “Incident Report”, are also available which assists with the incident management process with regards to work-related injuries at construction sites, schools, or practically anywhere you or your employees work (See: http://www.gocanvas.com/mobile-forms-apps/4320-Incident-Report?show_device=true).

Prior art patent U.S. Pat. No. 8,180,274 discloses a system for managing and messaging critical student information. The system includes storing information associated with individual students, such as important medical information or contact information for the student's parent or guardian, and providing different authorized users, such as school administrators, teachers, or coaches, permission to access the information and/or send messages for particular students. Another prior art document U.S. Pat. No. 9,294,900 discloses computerized systems and methods that are used to enable users to report crimes, safety hazards or other perceived problems to the appropriate authorities via an alert. Such alerts may be communicated to the authorities through any suitable communication method such as, phone calls, emails and/or SMS text messages. Yet another prior art document US Pat. App. No. 2005/0013417 discloses an alert notification system that automatically disseminates a warning for dangerous conditions-such as, for example, like a storm, a chemical fire, or a threatened gas explosion—to the people in the affected geographic area, school, or organization Prior art patent U.S. Pat. No. 9,071,579 discloses a system and method for submission and receipt of communications and information including sending, receiving, and responding to mood related, time-sensitive and/or secretive messages or information, through a one-step submission to communication networks and/or social media platforms, through an anonymous submit and targeted authorized receipt process.

However, above mentioned references and many other similar references has one or more of the following shortcomings:

    • (i) only for providing information;
    • (ii) only web-based applications;
    • (iii) not supporting to real time information transmission;
    • (iv) one way application;
    • (v) not directed to the right choice of concerned agencies; and
    • (vi) most important many times it is intended for the anonymous users.

The present application addresses the above mentioned concerns and short comings with regard to providing a method for a submitter (authenticate users only) to communicate information using a mobile-enabled application to a targeted receiver system, such as local, state, or federal agencies, fire department, hospital, etc.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Given the disadvantages mentioned above and limitations inherent in the mobile applications for communication now present in the prior art, the present invention provides a system and method thereof to communicate information using a mobile-enabled application. As such, the general purpose of the present invention, which will be described subsequently in greater detail, is to provide a system and method thereof for a submitter to communicate information using a mobile-enabled application to the targeted receiver system, such as local, state or federal agencies.

An object of the invention is to provide a method for a submitter to communicate information using a mobile-enabled application to a targeted receiver system comprising: Logging in to the mobile-enabled application by the submitter using a an authenticate credentials; wherein the mobile-enabled application is pre-installed on an object device; selecting a category provided by the mobile-enabled application; wherein the category is selected from one of the three categories, crime, suspicion or emergency; selecting a targeted receiver system prompted by the mobile-enabled application based on the category selected; uploading a data related to an incident on the mobile-enabled application; wherein the data comprises live streaming video(s), voice memos, text message(s), picture(s) or combination thereof; transmitting the data of the incident to the targeted receiver system; optionally the submitter may store the information on the app server and submit it to the targeted receiver later; matching and verifying the data with the targeted receiver system choosen by the submitter; transferring the data to a matched targeted receiver system; and finally receiving a confirmation message by the submitter from the targeted receiver system.

It is another object of the invention to provide a method for a submitter to communicate information using a mobile-enabled application wherein the authenticated credentials used may be a face recognition, social security number, finger printing, government issued identification number, driving license number, email identification.

It is yet another object of the invention to provide a method for a submitter to communicate information using a mobile-enabled application wherein the targeted receiver system selected from the local, state or federal ministries, departments and agencies such as hospitals, fire departments, police, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) etc.

It is yet another object of the invention to provide a method for a submitter to communicate information using a mobile-enabled application wherein the object device used may be a smartphone, mobile phone, wearable device, wraparound device, hand held device, mobile station, vehicle computer system, laptop, tablet, or the similar mobile devices.

It is yet another object of the invention to provide a method for a submitter to communicate information using a mobile-enabled application wherein the incident may be an accident, medical emergency, fire breakout, natural disaster, crime, murder, safety hazards, harassment, abusing, bullying, theft, tress passing, riots, terrorist activity, suspicion activity, personal emergencies, etc.

It is yet another object of the invention to provide a method for a submitter to communicate information using a mobile-enabled application wherein the submitter is not an anonymous.

It is yet another object of the invention to provide a method for a submitter to communicate information using a mobile-enabled application wherein the data transmitted to the targeted receiver system also includes location and time details.

It is one of the aspects of the present invention to provide a system for a submitter to communicate information of an incident comprising: the submitter; a targeted receiver system; a mobile-enabled application; wherein the mobile-enabled application operates to receive a data from the submitter and transfers the said data to the targeted receiver system; and an object device running the mobile-enabled application.

It is another aspect of the present invention to provide the system for a submitter to communicate information of an incident wherein the submitter is present at the incident site and records & communicates the data to the targeted receiver system using the mobile-enabled application.

It is another aspect of the present invention to provide the system for a submitter to communicate information of an incident wherein the submitter is not an anonymous.

It is another aspect of the present invention to provide the system for a submitter to communicate information of an incident the submitter logged in-to the mobile-enabled application using authenticated credentials; wherein the authenticated credentials may be a face recognition, social security number, finger printing, government issued identification number, driving license, email identification.

It is another aspect of the present invention to provide the system for a submitter to communicate information of an incident wherein the targeted receiver system selected from local ministries, departments and agencies, federal ministries, departments and agencies, state ministries, departments, and agencies, etc.

It is another aspect of the present invention to provide the system for a submitter to communicate information of an incident wherein the object device comprises smartphone, mobile phone, wearable device, wraparound device, hand held device, mobile station, vehicle computer system, laptop, tablet, or the similar mobile devices.

It is another aspect of the present invention to provide the system for a submitter to communicate information of an incident wherein the incident may be an accident, medical emergency, fire breakout, natural disaster, crime, murder, safety hazards, harassment, abusing, bullying, theft, tress passing, riots, terrorist activity, suspicion activity, personal emergencies, etc.

It is another aspect of the present invention to provide the system for a submitter to communicate information of an incident wherein the data may be a live streaming video(s), voice memos, text message(s), picture(s) or any combination thereof.

These together with other objects of the invention, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the invention, are pointed out with particularity in the disclosure. For a better understanding of the invention, its operating advantages and the specific objects attained by its uses, reference should be had to the accompanying drawings and descriptive matter in which there are illustrated preferred embodiments of the invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

In the following detailed description, reference is made to the accompanying drawings which form a part hereof, and in which is shown by way of illustration specific embodiments in which the invention may be practiced. These embodiments are described in sufficient detail to enable those skilled in the art to practice the invention, and it is to be understood that the embodiments may be combined, or that other embodiments may be utilized and that structural and logical changes may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. The following detailed description is, therefore, not to be taken in a limiting sense, and the scope of the present invention is defined by the appended claims and their equivalents.

Our smartphones have capabilities of running different types of programs, from games to productivity tools, from health tips to monitoring our vital parameters of a human body. There are hundreds of thousands of apps available but finding the right ones can be difficult and new apps are released every day. Several mobile applications are also developed for monitoring and investigating closed circuit television (CCTV) or digital cameras installed at the various residential or commercial complexes. Further, investigative and monitoring technologies have also improved in recent years. Evidence and information obtained from bystanders and other witnesses remain critical tools for law enforcement, safety, school and other officials. Additionally, when such information is obtained from bystanders, the monitoring of the bystander reports provides such officials with another tool to combat crime and locate hazards.

A mobile-enabled application is an application that serves an authentic democratic law enforcement tool by building on community policing through public-private affiliated partnership. A method for a submitter (bystanders or witness) using mobile-enabled application to communicate information related to an incident direct to the authorities concerned forms the locus of the present invention. The mobile-enabled application also allows a submitter to transmit incident evidence in the form of videos, photos, voice messages, text messages or any combinations thereof. The mobile-enable application only allows the authenticate users or submitters to log-in and submit the information. In the present invention to overcome the drawback mentioned above, a method for a submitter (bystanders or witness) immediately in real time (or may communicate later) using mobile-enabled application to disclose information related to an incident to the concerned local, state and or federal ministries, departments and agencies are considered.

FIG. 1 shows a schematic view illustrating one of the embodiments when an incident is a road accident. However, it may be any incident. A system and method for a submitter to communicate information, regarding a traffic accident, using a mobile-enabled application to a targeted receiver system is illustrated in FIG. 1. A system for a submitter to communicate information of an incident 104 including the submitter 101; a targeted receiver system (not shown in the Fig); the mobile-enabled application operates to receive data from the submitter and transfers the data to the targeted receiver system; and an object device 102 running the mobile-enabled application 103. When any incident happens, such as road accident 104, and the submitter 101 decides to communicate information related to the road accident 104 to the appropriate local or state or federal authorities. Then the submitter 101 will log in to the mobile-enabled application 103 installed on the object device 102. The object device includes a smartphone, mobile phone, wearable device, wraparound device, hand held device, mobile station, vehicle computer system, laptop, tablet, or any similar mobile or digital communication device. Only genuine and identified submitter(s) could log in to the mobile-enabled application 103. The submitter 101 uses an authenticated credential to log in to the mobile-enabled application 103. The validating credentials include face recognition, social security number, finger prints, government issued identification number, driving license, or email Id. The submitter can't be an anonymous entity or person. The mobile-enabled application 103 allows access only after verification of the authenticated credentials of the submitter 101.

In operation, the submitter 101 records the incident using either video, audio, snapshot or any combination thereof. Next, the submitter 101 selects a category on the mobile-enabled application 103 provided by the application. A prompt selected from one of the three categories: crime, suspicion or emergency. The mobile-enabled application 103 then prompts the list of a targeted receiver system related to the selected alert of the submitter 101. The targeted receiver system includes: local, state or federal ministries, departments and agencies. Further, the targeted receiver system list is also related to the location of the submitter 101. The submitter 101 selects the targeted receiver system (which is not shown in the FIG. 1) from the list prompted by the mobile-enabled application 103. The submitter 101 next uploads the data 106 related to an incident on the mobile-enabled application 103. The submitter 101 also has a choice of selecting a type of the data 106 such as video, audio, photo or any combination thereof. Further, the data can be live streaming video(s), voice memos, text message(s), photo(s), or any combination thereof. The downloaded data also includes the location and time details of capture. The submitter 101 also has a choice of transmitting the data in real time to the targeted receiver system. Optionally, the submitter 101 may store the data on the cloud server of the mobile-enabled application and may transmit some or all of the data later on. The backend system of the mobile-enabled application matches and verifies the data with the targeted receiver system chosen by the submitter. The mobile-enabled application 103 transfers the data to the matched targeted receiver system. Finally, the submitter 101 receives a confirmation message 107 from the targeted receiver system.

Further, it is noted, the incident can be an accident, medical emergency, fire breakout, natural disaster, crime, murder, safety hazards, harassment, abusing, bullying, theft, tress passing, riots, terrorist activity, suspicion activity, personal emergencies, anti-social behavior, etc.

It is to be understood that the above description is intended to be illustrative, and not restrictive. For example, the above-discussed embodiments may be used in combination with each other. Many other embodiments will be apparent to those of skill in the art upon reviewing the above description.

The benefits and advantages that may be provided by the present invention have been described above concerning specific embodiments of the app. These benefits and or advantages of this invention and any elements or limitations that may cause them to occur or to become more pronounced are not to be construed as critical, required, or essential features of any or all of the embodiments.

While the present invention has been described regarding particular embodiments, it should be understood that the embodiments are illustrative and that the scope of the invention is not limited to these embodiments.

Many variations, modifications, additions and improvements to the embodiments described above are possible. It is contemplated that these variations, modifications, additions and improvements fall within the scope of the invention.

Claims

1. A method for a submitter to communicate information using a mobile-enabled application to a targeted receiver system, comprising:

a) logging in to the mobile-enabled application by the submitter using an authenticate credentials; wherein the mobile-enabled application is pre-installed on an object device;
b) selecting a category provided by the mobile-enabled application; wherein the category is selected from one of three categories of crime, suspicion or emergency;
c) selecting a targeted receiver system prompted by the mobile-enabled application based on the category selected;
d) uploading a data related to an incident on the mobile-enabled application; wherein the data comprises live streaming video(s), voice memos, text message(s), picture(s) or combination thereof;
e) transmitting the data on the incident to the targeted receiver system; wherein the submitter also has a storage system to store the data on an application server and will submit the data to the targeted receiver system at a later time;
f) matching and verifying the data with the targeted receiver system chosen by the submitter; and
g) receiving a confirmation message by the submitter from the targeted receiver system.

2. The method for a submitter to communicate information using a mobile-enabled application according to claim 1, wherein the authenticated credentials are selected from the group consisting of: face recognition, social security number, finger printing, government issued identification number, driving license, or email identification.

3. The method for a submitter to communicate information using a mobile-enabled application according to claim 1, wherein the targeted receiver system is selected from a group including: local agencies, federal agencies, or state agencies.

4. The method for a submitter to communicate information using a mobile-enabled application according to claim 1, wherein the object device is selected from a group consisting of: smartphone, mobile phone, wearable device, wraparound device, hand held device, mobile station, vehicle computer system, laptop, tablet, or mobile computer.

5. The method for a submitter to communicate information using a mobile-enabled application according to claim 1, wherein the incident is selected from a group comprising: an accident, medical emergency, fire breakout, natural disaster, crime, murder, safety hazards, harassment, abusing, bullying, theft, tress passing, riots, terrorist activity, suspicion activity, or personal emergencies.

6. The method for a submitter to communicate information using a mobile-enabled application according to claim 1, wherein the submitter is not an anonymous source.

7. The method for a submitter to communicate information using a mobile-enabled application according to claim 1, wherein the data transmitted to the targeted receiver system also includes location and time details.

8. A system for a submitter to communicate information of an incident, comprising:

a) a targeted receiver system;
b) a mobile-enabled application; wherein the mobile-enabled application operates to receive a data from the submitter and transfers the data to the targeted receiver system; and
c) an object device running the mobile-enabled application.

9. The system for a submitter to communicate information of an incident according to claim 8, wherein the submitter is present at the incident site and records and communicates the data to the targeted receiver system using the mobile-enabled application.

10. The system for a submitter to communicate information of an incident according to claim 9, wherein the submitter is not an anonymous source.

11. The system for a submitter to communicate information of an incident according to claim 10, wherein the submitter logged into the mobile-enabled application using an authenticated credentials; wherein the authenticated credentials is selected from a group including: a face recognition, social security number, finger printing, government issued identification number, driving license, and email identification.

12. The system for a submitter to communicate information of an incident according to claim 8, wherein the targeted receiver system is selected from a group comprising of: local agencies, federal agencies, or state agencies.

13. The system for a submitter to communicate information of an incident according to claim 8, wherein the object device is selected from a group that consists of: smartphone, mobile phone, wearable device, wraparound device, hand held device, mobile station, vehicle computer system, laptop, tablet, or mobile computers.

14. The system for a submitter to communicate information of an incident according to claim 8, wherein the incident is selected from a group consisting of: an accident, medical emergency, fire breakout, natural disaster, crime, murder, safety hazards, harassment, abusing, bullying, theft, tress passing, riots, terrorist activity, suspicion activity, personal emergencies, etc.

15. The system for a submitter to communicate information of an incident according to claim 8, wherein the data is selected from a group consisting of: a live streaming video(s), voice memos, text message(s), picture(s), or any combination thereof.
