BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention

The invention relates to containers and more particularly to a container (e.g., jar) including a base having a space with a pull ring and a release liner formed therein, a clockwise pulling of the pull ring may detach a seal to expose contents in the container.

2. Description of Related Art

A conventional container is shown in FIG. 7 and comprises a container body 62 having an interior space for containing, for example, food product; an enclosure including a hollow base 68 having a groove 66 releasably mounted on an opening of the container body 62, and a lid 64 hingedly secured to a top edge of the base 68; and a seal 82 removably supported by two opposite supports 70 on an inner surface of the base 68.

However, air including moisture may enter the interior space of the container body 62 through gaps between the seal 82 and an inner surface of the base 68. Thus the food product may have gone sour due to oxidation and/or moisture.

Thus, the need for improvement still exists.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to FIGS. 1 to 6A, a container (e.g., jar) in accordance with the invention comprises the following components as discussed in detail below.

A container body 10 has an interior space 12 and includes an annular neck 14 on a top, and a groove 16 on an outer surface of the neck 14. A hollow base 18 includes a plurality of projections 20 on a bottom edge, an interior space 21, an annular edge 213 between a bottom of the interior space 21 and an inner surface of the interior space 21, and a seal 22 and an aligning member 30 both defined on the bottom of the base 18. The seal 22 includes a pull ring 24 and a first release liner 26. The pull ring 24 includes a connection member 241 attached to a top of the first release liner 26. The connection member 241 is protruded on both a top of a central portion of the pull ring 24 and a bottom thereof. The pull ring 24 is a starting point of a line which terminates at an edge of the seal 22 by curvedly passing through the first release liner 26. A substantial portion of the seal 22 is surrounded by the line. A portion of the first release liner 26 is formed as a straight member 28. Length of the first release liner 26 is about half of a perimeter of the seal 22. An end of the straight member 28, as a portion of the first release liner 26, is formed as a second release liner 27 which terminates at an edge of the seal 22. After removing the seal 22, the bottom of the space 21 is spaced from the aligning member 30 by the straight member 28. That is the aligning member 30 is formed at the bottom of the space 21 without the seal.

A recess 32 is formed on a top edge of the base 18. A lid 34 is pivotably secured to the base 18 at the recess 32. A spoon cavity 36 is provided in an inner surface of the lid 34 and is configured to temporarily fasten a spoon 28 which is disposed in the space 21 when the lid 34 is closed onto the base 18.

A tab 40 projects out of a top edge of the lid 34. The tab 40 is received in a cavity 42 on a top edge of the base 18 when the lid 34 is closed onto the base 18.

The projections 20 are spherical or multi-sided.

An annular gap 19 open to a bottom is formed between the space 21 and an outer surface of the base 18. An annular flange 211 is formed on an underside of the base 18 and is spaced from the space 21. A plurality of equally spaced ridges 212 are formed on an outer surface of the space 21 and are in the gap 19. The projections 20 are disposed in the groove 16 by snapping and the ridges 212 are frictionally secured to the neck 14.

The pull ring 24 is a starting point of a line which clockwise extends to the edge of the seal 22 via the second release liner 27.

As shown in FIG. 5 specifically, an individual may insert his or her finger (e.g., index finger as shown) into the pull ring 24. Next, the individual may clockwise pull the pull ring 24, the first release liner 26 and the second release liner 27 to release the seal 22. After releasing the seal 22, only the aligning member 30 is left in the space 21. Next, the individual may use the spoon 38 to scoop up, for example, powder stored in the space 12. Further, the individual may use the spoon 38 to smooth the top of the powder to make it flush with the aligning member 30. It is very convenient. After use, the individual may secure the spoon 38 to the spoon cavity 36 by snapping.

While the invention has been described in terms of preferred embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that the invention can be practiced with modifications within the spirit and scope of the appended claims.
