BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present embodiment is in the technical field of personal hygiene devices, more particularly, the present embodiment is in the technical field of hair brushes. Typically hair brushes contain a brush with bristles and a handle. There is a need in the marketplace for a hairbrush that allows for easy storage for accessories and styling tools.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present embodiment is a hairbrush that allows for a styling tool or accessory to be looped through a movable gate opening at the base of a hair brush and secured in place for storage and ease of use. The movable gate in this embodiment is opened and closed by the use of a small hinge that allows for a piece of the brush to swing open and then lock close per a latching part keeping the styling tool or accessory enclosed in the brush handle. This hairbrush embodiment allows for easy access to the hair styling tool or accessory contained on the brush along with storage of that tool or accessory contained on the brush.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

It should be understood that certain features of the invention, which are, for clarity, described in the content of separate embodiments, may be provided in combination in a single embodiment. Conversely, various features of the invention which are describes in the content of a single embodiment may be provided separated or in any appropriate sub combination. It is to be noted that certain features of the embodiments are illustrated by way of non-limited examples. Also, a skilled person in the art will be aware of the prior art which is not explained in the above for succinct purposes.

Referring now to the invention in more detail, in FIG. 1-7 there is shown a hairbrush with accessory holding handle 100 showing a traditional flat brush which consists of a brush head portion 104, a bristle portion 102, a j-shaped handle portion 106, a movable gate 112 swiveling around a spindle 110 situated at the bottom end of the body 106, a male latching pin 116, and a female latching part 114 in this embodiment. In the closed position, the hairbrush with accessory holding handle 100 will have an open air element 108.

In more detail, still referring to the invention of FIG. 1, brush head 104 is comprised of numerous bristles 102 attached mechanically, or by hand, on one of the flat surfaces of brush head 104. In this embodiment, the brush head 104 can be made of ebony, rosewood, beech, plastic, polyacetal, or other synthetic or natural materials. The brush head 104 can be flat, round, vented, padded, paddled, or other shapes. The bristles 102 can made from boar hair, nylon, stainless steel, plastic, or other synthetic or natural materials.

In more detail, still referring to the invention of FIG. 1, in one embodiment the j-shaped handle 106 is an elongated hollow or solid structure with one end coupled to the brush end and one end attached to the movable gate 112 swiveling around a spindle 110 and locking once the male latching pin 116 is engaged with the female latching part 114. In one embodiment, the j-shaped handle 106, the movable gate 112, the male latching pin 116 and the female latching part 116 are made, but not limited to, plastics, thermoplastics polyester elastomer (TPE-E), ceramic, wood, stainless steel or other natural or synthetic materials. Optionally, the j-shaped handle portion 106 may be circle, oval, rectangle, square, or other shaped.

In more detail, still referring to the invention of FIG. 1, the top first end of brush head 104 consists of a female latching part 114 of the gate 112 in this embodiment. The top first end of the movable gate 112 consists of a male latching pin 116 which engages and interlocks in the female latching part 114 when closed and locked. The locked and closed movable gate 112 provides the open air element 108 inside the hairbrush with accessory holding handle.

Referring now to the invention shown in FIG. 2, the side view of the hairbrush with accessory holding handle 100 the spindle 110 is a hollow or solid cylindrical shaped pin in this embodiment, but could also be shaped spherical, triangular, or other shaped, that is mechanically attached, or by hand, in this embodiment to the j-shaped handle 106 as well as the movable gate 112 at the base of the movable gate 112. The spindle 110 in this embodiment may be made of stainless steel, plastic, or any other suitable synthetic or natural material. The spindle 110 allows for the movable gate 112 to pivot open and closed away from the hairbrush with accessory holding handle 100 in this embodiment. In another embodiment the movable gate 112 could pivot on a spring loaded gate. The spindle could also be attached to the top of the movable gate 112 in another embodiment. The movable gate 112 has an H shaped top portion that is mechanically attached, or by hand, to the male latching pin 116 in this embodiment. It may also be I shaped or any other suitable shape. The male latching pin 116 is a hollow or solid shaped pin made of stainless steel, plastic or other synthetic or natural materials that is parallel to the movable gate 112 and interlocks with the female latching part 114 when closed. The female latching part 114 interlocks with the male latching pin 116 when closed allowing for the movable gate 112 to remain in a static position.

Referring now to the invention shown in FIG. 3, the back view of the hair brush with accessory holding handle 100, the movable gate 112 is shown in the closed and locked position. The now closed j-shaped handle 106 in this embodiment shows an oval area of open air 108. The open air element 108 could be circular, square, triangular, or other shaped.

Referring now to the invention shown in FIG. 4, the female latching part 114 is shown in this embodiment to have a slightly greater than semi-circle shaped latch part that interlocks with the male latching pin 116. In this embodiment, the female latching part 114 is shown as a semi-circle, but could be square, triangular or other shaped. In this embodiment, the female latching part 114 coincides with the male latching pin 116 as to allow the male latching pin 116 to be manually pushed by the user into the female latching part 114 in this embodiment. Other embodiments could have a magnetic lock, latch, or other locking mechanisms. The female latching part 114 may be made of stainless steel, plastic, or other synthetic or natural materials.

Referring now to the invention shown in FIG. 5-6 when the movable gate 112 is opened, it allows the user to store a rubber band, elastic, scrunchie, keychain, or other items that allow for hanging around the movable gate 112. Once the user closes the movable gate 112 by applying manual force 112 to the male latching pin 116, in this embodiment, the male latching pin 116 engages and interlocks with the female latching part 114. The elastic or rubber band in this embodiment is now stored and contained by the hairbrush with accessory holding handle 100 and allows for readily available styling use for the user. In order to re-open the movable gate 112, the user would apply manual force in this embodiment. In another embodiment, where the movable gate 112 is spring loaded, the user would apply manual force to open, but not close the movable gate 112.

Referring now to the invention shown in FIG. 7, this shows the hairbrush with accessory holding handle 100 in use view by the hairstylist. The movable gate 112 is in the closed and locked position and the styling tool or accessory is stored on the hairbrush with accessory holding handle 100.

While the foregoing written description of the invention enables one of ordinary skill to make and use what is considered presently to be the best mode thereof, those of ordinary skill will understand and appreciate the existence of variations, combinations, and equivalents of the specific embodiment, method, and examples herein. The invention should therefore not be limited by the above described embodiment, method, and examples, but by all embodiments and methods within the scope and spirit of the invention.
