FIELD OF THE TECHNOLOGY

The present invention relates to the field of garden machinery technology, and more particularly to a post driver and puller combo.

BACKGROUND

Fence posts are widely used in security fences for vineyards, farms, industrial establishments or important national departments. At present, installation of a fence post is done by the use of a hammer to hit the post into the ground. However, these fence posts may not be permanently fixed in one position. Sometimes, it is required to change the position of the fence posts according to the situation, and therefore it is required to pull out these fence posts from the ground for re-location. However, there is no specific tool for fence post extraction. At present, it requires an operator to knock on the side of the fence post and shake it several times before the fence post can be pulled out. It is not only time consuming and laborious, but it may damage the fence posts and affect the re-use of these fence posts.

SUMMARY

The technical problem to be solved is to provide a simple and easy-to-use post driver and puller combo which can reduce labor intensity and ensure the integrity of the fence posts in view of the above-mentioned deficiencies of the prior art.

In order to solve the above-mentioned technical problems, the technical solution adopted is to provide a post driver and puller combo which may include a hollow main cylinder capable of accommodating therein a fence post, and a post-pulling mechanism provided at an upper portion of the main cylinder and disposed transversely therethrough. The post-pulling mechanism is freely detachable from the main cylinder.

Preferably, the post-pulling mechanism includes a pressing bar and a clasp. The clasp may be provided at a front end of the pressing bar and is capable of holding the fence post. A strip-shaped through hole may be formed and extending axially on the main cylinder. A front part of the pressing bar may extend through the strip-shaped through hole and is connected with the clasp. The pressing bar can be rotatably connected with the main cylinder by means of a shaft which intersects a central axis of the main cylinder.

Preferably, the clasp is hinged to the front end of the pressing bar.

Preferably, the clasp is plate-like and has a U-shaped slot formed on one side thereof, and the U-shaped slot is capable of engaging with the fence post.

Preferably, a pair of handrails is provided symmetrically about the main cylinder on two sides thereof, and the handrails are arranged at two sides of the pressing bar.

Preferably, a handle is provided at a rear end of the pressing bar.

Preferably, the handle is sleeved thereon with a rubber anti-slip sleeve.

Preferably, a base of the main cylinder is provided with a radially outwardly extending support base.

The beneficial effect of adopting the above technical scheme is that a fence post can be inserted into a hollow main cylinder. The top of the fence post is hit and the post is driven into the ground. When extraction of the fence post is needed, the main cylinder can be placed at one side of the fence post. A post-pulling mechanism, which can engage with the fence post, can be used to easily pull the post out of the ground. The post driver and puller combo of the present application has the functions of both fence post erection and fence post extraction because the device is a combination of a fence post erection machine and a fence post extraction machine. Thus, the device is more convenient to use and quick in operation. Also, the device is simple in structure, easy to assemble, light in weight, and easy to transport.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The post driver and puller combo of the present application will now be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings and specific examples in order to provide a clear understanding of the objects, technical solutions and advantages of the device. It is to be understood that the specific embodiment described herein is merely illustrative of the device and is not intended to be limiting.

Referring to the FIGURE, the present application discloses a post driver and puller combo which may include a hollow main cylinder 1 capable of accommodating therein a fence post. A post-pulling mechanism may be provided at an upper portion of the main cylinder 1 and disposed transversely therethrough. The post-pulling mechanism can be freely detachable from the main cylinder 1. A user can insert a fence post into the hollow main cylinder 1 and hit the top of the fence post so as to easily drive the fence post into the ground. When extraction of the fence post is needed, the user can place the main cylinder at one side of the fence post and use the post-pulling mechanism to engage with the fence post such that the user can easily pull the fence post out of the ground.

In a preferred embodiment, the post-pulling mechanism may include a pressing bar 2 and a clasp 3 which is capable of engaging with a fence post. A strip-shaped through hole 4 may be formed and extending axially on the main cylinder 1. A front part of the pressing bar 2 may be inserted through the strip-shaped through hole 4 and may be hingedly connected with the clasp 3. The pressing bar 2 can be rotatably connected with the main cylinder 1 by means of a shaft 5 which intersects a central axis of the main cylinder 1. The clasp 3 can be hingedly connected with a front end of the pressing bar 2 so that the clasp 3 can rotate about the front end of the pressing bar 2. This can prevent the clasp 3 from being stuck and ensure that the fence post can be smoothing pulled out. In accordance with the lever principle, when the clasp 3 is engaged with the fence post and a rear end of the pressing bar 2 is pressed down, the fence post can be easily pulled out as the clasp 3 moves up.

In one embodiment, the clasp 3 may be plate-like and may have a U-shaped slot 6 formed on one side thereof. The U-shaped slot 6 of the clasp 3 can couple or engage with the fence post. It is more convenient to engage the U-shaped slot 6 with the fence post when the U-shaped slot 6 is formed on a lateral side of the clasp 3.

In order to further optimize the above-mentioned technical solution, and prevent the main cylinder 1 from being tilted during fence post erection, the main cylinder 1 may be provided with a pair of handrails 7 provided symmetrically about the main cylinder 1 on two sides thereof. The handrails 7 may be arranged on two sides of the pressing bar 2. Thus, one user can hold the handrails 7 on both sides of the main cylinder 1, and another user can hit the top of the fence post, thereby firmly driving the fence post into the ground.

In order to increase the contact area between the main cylinder 1 and the ground, the base of the main cylinder 1 may be in the form of a radially outwardly extending support base 8, so that the main cylinder 1 can be supported more firmly on the ground to ensure the result of the fence post erection.

In order to further optimize the above-mentioned technical effect, a rear end of the pressing bar 2 may be provided with a handle 9, and a rubber anti-slip sleeve which can be sleeved onto the handle 9 in order to increase the friction between the handle 9 and the hands of the user.

When a fence post needs to be erected, the main cylinder 1 is placed at the position where the fence post is to be erected, and the pressing bar 2 is detached from the main cylinder 1. Then, the fence post is inserted into the main cylinder 1, and the handrails 7 are grasped by the hands of a user, and the top of the fence post is hit by another user in order to drive the fence post into the ground. When a fence post needs to be extracted, the main cylinder 1 is placed at one side of the fence post, the pressing bar 2 is installed on the main cylinder 1, and the fence post is held by the clasp 3. Then, the handle 9 is pressed down, and the fence post can be easily pulled out from the ground. The post driver and puller combo of the present application has the functions of both fence post erection and fence post extraction because the device is a combination of a fence post erection machine and a fence post extraction machine. The post driver and puller combo of the present application is simple in structure, easy to assemble, light in weight, and easy to transport. It is not necessary to use any other tools to assemble and disassemble the device.

The principle and embodiment of the post driver and puller combo of the present application have been set forth with reference to specific examples, and the description of the above embodiment is merely for the purpose of understanding the device. It should be noted that it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications and adaptations may be made to the device without departing from the principle of the device, which falls within the scope of the appended claims.
