Description
RELATED APPLICATION

This application claims the benefit of priority of Spanish Patent Application No. 201730274 filed Mar. 15, 2017, the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference in their entirety.

FIELD AND BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a protective device for pools, wells or reservoirs, the main aim of which is to prevent external elements from falling onto the aquatic surfaces of said pools, wells or reservoirs.

The field of application of the present invention therefore falls within the industrial sector of construction and maintenance of pools, wells and reservoirs and, more specifically, of the aquatic surfaces of said pools, wells or reservoirs.

In the sector related to the maintenance of aquatic surfaces of pools, wells or reservoirs, to protect said surfaces and prevent external elements from falling onto the same, the main solution used is to cover the aquatic surface with a tarpaulin that is fastened to the structure of the pool, well or reservoir. Thus, for example, to protect the aquatic surface contained in a pool, a tarpaulin with a surface that is large enough to cover the entire aquatic surface of the pool is used, said tarpaulin comprising a fastening system able to fasten the tarpaulin in an extended condition to the structure of the pool. A variant of this fastening system is for the tarpaulin to be thermally protective with the ability to float on the water and to thus increase the temperature and reduce the evaporation of the aquatic surface, as well as to maintain the temperature of the aquatic surface throughout the night.

The fastening system can comprise pins situated on the sides of the tarpaulin and holes prepared to receive said pins situated on the structure of the pool, or the opposite could be the case, in that the structure of the pool could comprise pins and the sides of the tarpaulin could comprise holes prepared to receive the aforementioned pins.

The main drawback of this solution is that the tarpaulins are suspended at a height with respect to the aquatic surface, and therefore do not allow the insects resting on top of the same to hydrate themselves.

Furthermore, another drawback of this solution is that fastening the tarpaulin to the structure of the pool consists of investing a substantial amount of time, given that each pin must be inserted through the corresponding hole.

Likewise, another drawback of this solution is that fastening these types of tarpaulins for pools in which the aquatic surface is at the ground level is very uncomfortable, given that the holes or pins, depending on the structure of the pool, are at the ground level, which means that the user would have to get down on their knees each time they needed to insert the pin through the hole. This also creates to a high risk of injury to the feet of the users of the pool, especially if the fastening system of the tarpaulin is not properly installed. In other cases, fastening these types of tarpaulins implies drilling into the pavement, increasing the installation costs of the fastening system.

Moreover, this fastening system, as well as the variant in which the tarpaulin is thermally protective, has another drawback, due to the fact that when the tarpaulin is removed from the aquatic surface, external elements that were on the surface can fall onto the aquatic surface.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main purpose of the present invention is to provide a solution to all of the aforementioned drawbacks.

As a result, the present invention must provide a solution to the technical problem, being that the protective device, once extended over the aquatic surface of the pool, well or reservoir, must be able to float on said aquatic surface so that insects can rest on the same without drowning, and in turn said device must not be moved by external climatic elements (such as: wind, rain, etc.) which would prevent proper protection of the aquatic surface by partially or entirely uncovering the same.

Moreover, the present invention must provide a solution to the technical problem of an easy mounting of the protective device over the aquatic surface of the pool, well, reservoir, especially with regard to requiring a short time for mounting the same.

To this end, the present invention is based on a protective device for pools, wells or reservoirs that comprises a plastic mesh able to float on the water, configured to cover at least the aquatic surface of the pool, well or reservoir, said mesh being joined to a flexible frame along at least one part of the perimeter thereof through joining means, said frame heavy enough so that when the mesh is in an extended condition over the aquatic surface of the pool, well or reservoir, the frame maintains said mesh extended.

In a preferred embodiment of the protective device for pools, wells or reservoirs, the frame is a lead core rope and, more specifically, comprises string lead coated in braided polyamide, polyester or polypropylene.

Preferably, the joining means can be grippers arranged on the perimeter of the mesh that comprise at least an opening configured so that the frame can pass through the same.

In another preferred embodiment of the protective device for pools, wells or reservoirs, the fame is joined to the mesh along the entire perimeter of the mesh.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWINGS

The previous advantages and characteristics, in addition to others, shall be understood more fully in light of the following detailed description of exemplary embodiments, with reference to the drawings attached, which must be taken by way of illustration and not limitation, wherein:

FIG. 1 is a schematic view that shows a first application of the protective device for pools, wells or reservoirs according to the invention, over a pool, the structure of which is raised to a height above the ground.

FIG. 2 is a schematic view that shows a second application of the protective device for pools, wells or reservoirs according to the invention over a pool, the aquatic surface of which is at ground level.

DESCRIPTION OF SPECIFIC EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION

As can be seen in the two figures, the protective device (1) for pools, wells or reservoirs that comprises a plastic mesh (2) able to float on the water, configured to cover at least the aquatic surface (3) of the pool (8), said mesh (2) being joined to a flexible frame (5) along at least one part of the perimeter thereof by joining means, said frame (5) heavy enough so that when the mesh (2) is in an extended condition over the aquatic surface of the pool (3) it maintains said mesh (2) extended.

Preferably, the frame (5) is arranged along the entire perimeter of the mesh (2), being joined to the same by joining means.

In these preferred embodiments, the frame (5) is a lead core rope and the joining means are grippers (6) arranged along the perimeter of the mesh (2) that comprise at least an opening configured so that the frame (5) can pass through the same.

In FIG. 1, the pool (8), over which the protective device (1) for pools, wells or reservoirs is applied, has a structure that is raised to a certain height above the ground. In order to be able to apply the protective device (1) for pools, wells or reservoirs according to the present invention, the user must extend the mesh (2) over the aquatic surface (3) of the pool (8) such that the frame (5) is suspended at a certain height above the ground that is sufficient to maintain the mesh (2) extended over the aquatic surface of the pool.

In FIG. 2, the aquatic surface of the pool (8) over which the protective device (1) for pools, wells or reservoirs is applied is at ground level. In order to be able to apply the protective device (1) for pools, wells or reservoirs according to the present invention, the user must extend the mesh (2) over the entire aquatic surface of the pool (8) such that the frame (5) is arranged on the ground around the outer perimeter of the pool (8). Since the frame (5) is heavy enough to keep the mesh (2) extended when the mesh (2) is in an extended position, the protective device (1) is not moved by external climatic elements.

As can be seen in these figures, the protection of the pools (8) by means of the protective device (1) is extremely simple, since it is only necessary to extend the mesh (2) over the aquatic surface of the pool (8) without needing to fasten said protective device (1) to the structure or perimeter of the pool (8).

Likewise, by means of these figures, it can be seen that the protective device for pools, wells or reservoirs can be used in an equally simple way for both pools with a structure that is elevated to a certain height above the ground as well as those with an aquatic surface that is at ground level.

A person skilled in the art will be able to carry out modifications and variations based on the exemplary embodiments shown and described without departing from the scope of the invention as defined in the attached claims.
