ONE-PIECE STAINLESS STEEL SMOKING PIPE
A unitary smoking pipe made of stainless steel is provided. The one-piece stainless steel construction is adapted to distribute the heat from the bowl cavity portion of the smoking pipe to the remaining portion of the body. Also, an air inlet extending through the body so as to fluidly communicate the bowl cavity to an opposing mouthpiece hole may do so at a downwardly angle relative to a longitudinal axis of the body, enabling a deeper bowl cavity.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention relates to smoking pipes and, more particularly, a one-piece construction stainless steel unbreakable smoking pipe.
Pipe smoking, it has been said, contributes to a somewhat calm and objective judgement in all human affairs. However, the smoking pipe itself can be a source of frustration for pipe smokers as they can be easily broken and become uncomfortably hot to hold during use. Since smoking pipes are made from breakable material and screwed or glued together, they are susceptible to breakage and overheating. For example, stone, glass, and wood pipes can crack, shatter, or splinter; furthermore, all these materials absorb heat from the burning or smoldering smoking material so as to make the portion of the pipe retaining the smoking material uncomfortable to handle.
As can be seen, there is a need for one-piece construction stainless steel unbreakable smoking pipe that does not heat up quickly.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONIn one aspect of the present invention, a smoking pipe includes an elongated stainless steel body extending from a mouthpiece and to a bowl end; a bowl cavity recessed into the bowl end; a mouthpiece hole provided at the mouthpiece end; and an air inlet extending within the elongated stainless steel so as to fluidly communicate the mouthpiece hole and the bowl cavity.
In another aspect of the present invention, the smoking pipe includes an elongated stainless steel body extending from a mouthpiece and to a bowl end, wherein the smoking pipe is of a unitary construction; a bowl cavity recessed into the bowl end; a mouthpiece hole provided at the mouthpiece end; and an air inlet extending within the elongated stainless steel so as to fluidly communicate the mouthpiece hole and a bottom portion of the bowl cavity, wherein the air inlet extends at a downward angle of approximately three degrees relative to a longitudinal axis of the elongated stainless steel body; and a peripheral portion provided along a periphery of the elongated stainless steel body, wherein the peripheral portion is flat, dimensioned and adapted to support the elongated stainless steel body on a supporting surface so that the bowl cavity us upward-facing.

The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.
Broadly, an embodiment of the present invention provides a unitary smoking pipe made of stainless steel so as to distribute the heat from the bowl cavity portion of the smoking pipe to the remaining portion of the body. Also, an air inlet extending through the body so as to fluidly communicate the bowl cavity to an opposing mouthpiece hole may do so at a downwardly angle relative to a longitudinal axis of the body, enabling a deeper bowl cavity.
It should be understood by those skilled in the art that the use of directional terms such as upper, lower, upward, downwardly, top and the like are used in relation to the illustrative embodiments as they are depicted in the figures, the upward direction (or upper) being toward the top of the corresponding figures and a downward direction being toward the bottom of the corresponding figure.

An air inlet 14 may extend through the body 10 so as to fluidly communicate the bowl cavity 12 to a mouthpiece hole 18 along a surface of the mouthpiece end 19. The body 10 may be made from stainless steel. Unexpectedly, a unitary stainless steel construction stays cooler compared to other materials because solid stainless steel mass allows the heat to be absorbed from the bowl cavity 12 to the rest of the pipe body 10, thereby evenly distributing (since there is no discontinuity of materials) the heat away from the bowl cavity 12, making the bowl end 13 stay cooler longer. Prior art smoking pipes tend to accumulate heat at or near the bowl cavity 12 after the smoking material is lit, and since the bowl end 13 is where users tend to hold the smoking pipe, this buildup of heat can be uncomfortable or worse.
A method of using the present invention may include the following. The pipe body 10 disclosed above may be provided. A user may pack smoking material (not shown) into the bowl cavity 12. Thereafter, smoke from the burning smoking material passes through the bottom portion 20 thereof and drawn through the air inlet 14 when the user decreases the air pressure therein by inhaling via the mouthpiece hole 18. Of course, if the user drops the pipe body 10, being a unitary construction of stainless steel, the present invention will not break.
It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention.
Claims
1. A smoking pipe, comprising
- an elongated stainless steel body extending from a mouthpiece and to a bowl end;
- a bowl cavity recessed into the bowl end;
- a mouthpiece hole provided at the mouthpiece end; and
- an air inlet extending within the elongated stainless steel so as to fluidly communicate the mouthpiece hole and the bowl cavity.
2. The smoking pipe of claim 1, wherein the smoking pipe is of a unitary construction.
3. The smoking pipe of claim 1, wherein the air inlet extends at a downward angle relative to a longitudinal axis of the elongated stainless steel body.
4. The smoking pipe of claim 3, wherein the downward angle is approximately three degrees.
5. The smoking pipe of claim 1, wherein the air inlet extends to a bottom portion of the bowl cavity.
6. The smoking pipe of claim 1, further comprising a peripheral portion provided along a periphery of the elongated stainless steel body, wherein the peripheral portion is flat, dimensioned and adapted to support the elongated stainless steel body on a supporting surface so that the bowl cavity us upward-facing.
7. A smoking pipe, comprising
- an elongated stainless steel body extending from a mouthpiece and to a bowl end, wherein the smoking pipe is of a unitary construction;
- a bowl cavity recessed into the bowl end;
- a mouthpiece hole provided at the mouthpiece end; and
- an air inlet extending within the elongated stainless steel so as to fluidly communicate the mouthpiece hole and a bottom portion of the bowl cavity, wherein the air inlet extends at a downward angle of approximately three degrees relative to a longitudinal axis of the elongated stainless steel body; and
- a peripheral portion provided along a periphery of the elongated stainless steel body, wherein the peripheral portion is flat, dimensioned and adapted to support the elongated stainless steel body on a supporting surface so that the bowl cavity us upward-facing.
