BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Field of Invention

The present invention relates to a portable beer pong table that includes a buoyancy feature for placement into water.

Description of Related Art

Beer pong is a common drinking game that is usually engaged in by younger individuals. The game is especially popular at colleges and universities as a recreational activity. Generally, cups are arranged on to a flat surface preferably in a diamond configuration and individuals toss ping pong balls into the cups as a form of eliminating a cup out of play. Teams are arranged whereas if a ping pong ball hits a cup then a member of the team must drink a beer beverage contained within the cup. Normally the cups are placed on a flat surface table and usually the game is confined to an indoor or outside card table. Many students enjoy spring break activities there are usually associated with pool parties, therefore it would be advantageous to have a floating beer pong table. Such a floating table is disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 8,905,406 to Brown (Brown). Brown is a portable table that maybe broken down and essentially triangular with holes within the surface for placement of cups.

Also, U.S. Patent Publication No. 2015/0335972 to Fissell (Fissell) discloses a cup holder that is triangular with an outer wall that provides a framing arrangement for the cups to engage in beer pong. One drawback in a floating pong table is the need to secure the table in a stationary position while the table is floating. It's therefore an objective of the present invention to provide a beer pong table that includes a series of anchors to secure the table in a stationary position while floating on water.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a portable pong table that includes: a top surface; a base, where the base is adapted for buoyancy on water; a plurality of holes in the top surface, where each hole is adapted to receive a cup; and a plurality of anchors suspended from the base, wherein the plurality of anchors is adapted to stabilize the base on water.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 depicts a portable pong table in accordance with the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The present invention relates to a portable beer pong table that includes a top surface with a series of holes within the top surface. A base is provided that is preferably rectangular which supports the top surface. Further the holes are arranged in a triangular providing support for a cup within each hole. Also with respect to the present invention, anchors are provided to anchor the floating base in that water. An anchor is preferably attached to each corner of the base.

FIG. 1 depicts a portable beer pong table in accordance with the present invention. Table 100 includes a Base 50 that has a top flat Surface 44. A top Surface 44 includes a series of holes arranged in a triangular shape that are adapted to receive cups 40. Holes 42 lie below each cup 40 shown in FIG. 1. The present invention also includes anchors 20a, 20b, 20c, 20d. These anchors are positioned at each corner of Base 50. Each anchor includes a cord with a weight at the bottom of the cord to essentially anchor the table in a stationary position. The buoyant Table 100 may be placed in the water as roughly depicted in FIG. 1. The base 50 is designed of buoyant material to allow for floating of the beer pong table for use with the present invention.

The foregoing descriptions of specific embodiments of the present invention have been presented for purposes of illustration and description. They are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise forms disclosed, and obviously many modifications and variations are possible in light of the above teaching. The exemplary embodiment was chosen and described in order to best explain the principles of the invention and its practical application, to thereby enable others skilled in the art to best utilize the invention and various embodiments with various modifications as are suited to the particular use contemplated.
