Heat Resistant Apron Assembly
A heat resistant apron assembly includes an apron that may be worn. A first strap is coupled to the apron and the first strap is extended around a neck when the apron is worn. A second strap is coupled to the apron and a third strap is coupled to the apron. The third strap is selectively tied to the second strap when the apron is worn. A pair of elastic members is provided and each of the elastic members is coupled to the apron. A pair of pockets is provided and each of the pockets is coupled to an associated one of the elastic members. Each of the pockets insertably receives a hand. Each of the pockets is comprised of a thermally insulating material to facilitate a hot object to be grabbed without burning the hands.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION (1) Field of the Invention (2) Description of Related Art including information disclosed under 37 CFR 1.97 and 1.98The disclosure and prior art relates to apron devices and more particularly pertains to a new apron device that includes a pair of heat resistant pouches for grabbing hot objects.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONAn embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising an apron that may be worn. A first strap is coupled to the apron and the first strap is extended around a neck when the apron is worn. A second strap is coupled to the apron and a third strap is coupled to the apron. The third strap is selectively tied to the second strap when the apron is worn. A pair of elastic members is provided and each of the elastic members is coupled to the apron. A pair of pockets is provided and each of the pockets is coupled to an associated one of the elastic members. Each of the pockets insertably receives a hand. Each of the pockets is comprised of a thermally insulating material to facilitate a hot object to be grabbed without burning the hands.

A pouch 28 is provided that has a peripheral edge 30. The peripheral edge 30 of the pouch 28 has an upper side 32 and the peripheral edge 30 of the pouch 28 is coupled to the second surface 16 of the apron 12. The upper side 32 is spaced from the apron 12 to define an opening 33 into the pouch 28 for receiving objects. A first strap 34 is coupled to the apron 12 and the first strap 34 extends around a neck when the apron 12 is worn thereby suspending the apron 12 on the neck. The first strap 34 has a first end 36 and second end 38. Each of the first 36 and second ends 38 is coupled to the top side 24 of the apron 12 such that the first strap 34 forms a closed loop.
A second strap 40 is coupled to the apron 12 and the second strap 40 is positioned on the first lateral side 20. The second strap 40 has a distal end 42 with respect to the apron 12. A third strap 44 is coupled to the apron 12 and the third strap 44 is positioned on the second lateral side 22. The third strap 44 has a distal end 46 with respect to the apron 12. The distal end 42 of the second strap 40 is selectively tied to the distal end 46 of the third strap 44. In this way each of the second 40 and third 44 straps are wrapped around the torso when the apron 12 is worn.
A pair of elastic members 48 is provided and each of the elastic members 48 is coupled to the apron 12. Each of the elastic members 48 has a first end 50 and a second end 52. The first end 50 of each of the elastic members 48 is coupled to the second surface 16 of the apron 12. Moreover, each of the elastic members 48 extends downwardly along the second surface 16. The elastic members 48 are spaced apart from each other and each of the elastic members 48 is comprised of a resiliently stretchable material.
A pair of pockets 54 is provided and each of the pockets 54 is coupled to an associated one of the elastic members 48 to insertably receive a hand. Each of the pockets 54 is comprised of a thermally insulating material. Thus, each of the pockets 54 facilitates a hot object, such as a pot or a pan, to be grabbed without burning the hands. Each of the pockets 54 comprises a first panel 56 that has a perimeter edge 58 and the perimeter edge 58 of the first panel 56 has a top side 60.
A second panel 62 is provided that has a perimeter edge 64 and the perimeter edge 64 of the second panel 62 has a top side 66. The perimeter edge 64 of the second panel 62 is coupled to the perimeter edge 58 of the first panel 56. Moreover, the top side 60 of the first panel 56 is spaced from the top side 24 of the second panel 62 to define an opening 66 for receiving the hand. The second panel 62 is comprised of a thermally insulating material. The top side 66 of the second panel corresponding to each of the pockets 54 is coupled to the second end 52 of an associated one of the elastic members 48.
In use, the apron 12 is worn and having the first strap 34 extending around the neck and having each of the second 40 and third 44 straps being tied around the torso. Each of the hands is selectively inserted into the opening 66 in an associated one of the pockets 54. Thus, the hot object may be grabbed without burning the hands. In this way the hot object may be manipulated when the apron 12 is worn without the use of oven mitts or the like.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
Claims
1. A heat resistant apron assembly having integrated pot holders wherein said assembly is configured to facilitate a user to carry a hot object when said apron is worn, said assembly comprising:
- an apron being configured to be worn;
- a first strap being coupled to said apron wherein said first strap is configured to extend around a neck when said apron is worn thereby suspending said apron on the neck;
- a second strap being coupled to said apron;
- a third strap being coupled to said apron, said third strap being selectively tied to said second strap wherein each of said second and third straps are configured to be wrapped around the torso when said apron is worn;
- a pair of elastic members, each of said elastic members being coupled to said apron; and
- a pair of pockets, each of said pockets being coupled to an associated one of said elastic members wherein each of said pockets is configured to insertably receive a hand, each of said pockets being comprised of a thermally insulating material wherein each of said pockets is configured to facilitate a hot object to be grabbed without burning the hands.
2. The assembly according to claim 1, wherein said apron has a first surface, a second surface and peripheral edge extending therebetween, said peripheral edge having a first lateral side, a second lateral side and a top side, each of said first and second lateral sides having a curved portion, said curved portion corresponding to each of said first and second lateral sides being concavely arcuate between said corresponding first and second lateral sides and said top side, said first surface being configured to a torso when said apron is worn.
3. The assembly according to claim 2, wherein said first strap has a first end and second end, each of said first and second ends being coupled to said top side of said apron such that said first strap forms a closed loop.
4. The assembly according to claim 2, wherein:
- said second strap is positioned on said first lateral side, said second strap having a distal end with respect to said apron; and
- said third strap being positioned on said second lateral side, said third strap having a distal end with respect to said apron, said distal end of said second strap being selectively tied to said distal end of said third strap.
5. The assembly according to claim 2, wherein each of said elastic members has a first end and a second end, said first end of each of said elastic members being coupled to said second surface of said apron having each of said elastic members extending downwardly along said second surface, said elastic members being spaced apart from each other.
6. The assembly according to claim 1, wherein each of said pockets comprises a first panel having a perimeter edge, said perimeter edge having a top side.
7. The assembly according to claim 6, wherein each of said pockets comprises a second panel having a perimeter edge, said perimeter edge of said second panel having a top side, said perimeter edge of said second panel being coupled to said perimeter edge of said first panel, said top side of said first panel being spaced from said top side of said second panel to define an opening wherein said opening is configured to receive a hand.
8. The assembly according to claim 6, wherein said second panel is comprised of a thermally insulating material.
9. The assembly according to claim 8, wherein said top edge of said second panel is coupled to a second end of an associated one of said elastic members.
10. A heat resistant apron assembly having integrated pot holders wherein said assembly is configured to facilitate a user to carry a hot object when said apron is worn, said assembly comprising:
- an apron being configured to be worn, said apron having a first surface, a second surface and peripheral edge extending therebetween, said peripheral edge having a first lateral side, a second lateral side and a top side, each of said first and second lateral sides having a curved portion, said curved portion corresponding to each of said first and second lateral sides being concavely arcuate between said corresponding first and second lateral sides and said top side, said first surface being configured to a torso when said apron is worn;
- a first strap being coupled to said apron wherein said first strap is configured to extend around a neck when said apron is worn thereby suspending said apron on the neck, said first strap having a first end and second end, each of said first and second ends being coupled to said top side of said apron such that said first strap forms a closed loop;
- a second strap being coupled to said apron, said second strap being positioned on said first lateral side, said second strap having a distal end with respect to said apron;
- a third strap being coupled to said apron, said third strap being positioned on said second lateral side, said third strap having a distal end with respect to said apron, said distal end of said second strap being selectively tied to said distal end of said third strap wherein each of said second and third straps are configured to be wrapped around the torso when said apron is worn;
- a pair of elastic members, each of said elastic members being coupled to said apron, each of said elastic members having a first end and a second end, said first end of each of said elastic members being coupled to said second surface of said apron having each of said elastic members extending downwardly along said second surface, said elastic members being spaced apart from each other; and
- a pair of pockets, each of said pockets being coupled to an associated one of said elastic members wherein each of said pockets is configured to insertably receive a hand, each of said pockets being comprised of a thermally insulating material wherein each of said pockets is configured to facilitate a hot object to be grabbed without burning the hands, each of said pockets comprising: a first panel having a perimeter edge, said perimeter edge having a top side, and a second panel having a perimeter edge, said perimeter edge of said second panel having a top side, said perimeter edge of said second panel being coupled to said perimeter edge of said first panel, said top side of said first panel being spaced from said top side of said second panel to define an opening wherein said opening is configured to receive a hand, said second panel being comprised of a thermally insulating material, said top edge of said second panel being coupled to said second end of an associated one of said elastic members.
