COMPACT SLEEPING UNIT FOR AN ACCOMMODATION FACILITY

Disclosed is a compact sleeping unit (1) for an accommodation facility (4), comprising at least one standing area (20), at least some sections of which have headroom, and at least one sleeping area (30). The compact sleeping unit (1) is characterized in that the standing area (20) is arranged on a lower storey (2) and the sleeping area (30) is arranged on an upper storey (3).

Description

The present invention relates to a compact sleeping unit for an accommodation facility as claimed in the preamble of claim 1, and to an accommodation facility having such a compact sleeping unit as claimed in claim 15.

Known in the field of accommodation facilities such as, for example, hotels, hostels, youth hostels and the like, are accommodation facilities that are composed substantially of compact sleeping units. The compact sleeping units serve to offer the possibility of overnight accommodation with a minimum volume. Sanitary facilities such as WCs and washing or showering facilities are provided separately, e.g. by a communal area of WC cubicles and by a communal washing and showering area. These areas for communal use, in combination with the individual compact sleeping units, form the accommodation facility. Such facilities are known, e.g. as capsule hotels, from Japan, wherein there the sleeping units may also be arranged over one another, such that the guests have to crawl into the individual tubular sleeping units, e.g. via ladders.

An accommodation facility having compact sleeping units is known, for example, from EP 0 620 886 B1. These compact sleeping units are rectangular in shape, and each have a bed that is realized over the entire width of the sleeping unit, and that has to be entered from the foot end. The remaining area of the ground surface of the compact sleeping unit serves as living space, or for opening the door. A multiplicity of such sleeping units, together with sanitary areas for communal use, form the accommodation facility, in the form of a hotel.

It is disadvantageous in this case that the guests have to share the washing and showering area. This can result in busy periods, for example in the morning, such that the washing and showering facilities are not immediately available to every guest. In addition, the lack of privacy in the use of the communal washing and showering facilities may deter people from using such hotels. Moreover, the washing and showering facilities are reached via the communal corridor, such that, not only is it necessary to cover a certain distance, but it is also necessary to take along all washing and showering accessories.

The patent document DE 10 2011 101 080 B4 discloses compact sleeping units as sleeping boxes, which each have a relaxation or sleeping area, which extends horizontally, and a changing area, which extends vertically. The relaxation or sleeping area and the changing area are realized such that they are continuous and transition into one another. The volume of the sleeping box is minimized in that, although it is possible to stand upright to change in the changing area, it is nevertheless necessary to crawl into the adjacent sleeping area. Two such compact sleeping boxes can be combined with one another in a space-saving manner, in that they are joined to form a common unit. In this case, the sleeping boxes are arranged with their changing areas next to each other and their relaxation or sleeping areas over one another. In this way, the sleeping boxes combined with one another can have a minimal volume. Two pairs of such sleeping boxes can also be combined with a further, intermediate, box having a sanitary area, such that the common sanitary area can be directly accessible from four sleeping boxes.

It is disadvantageous in this case that, again, a washing or showering area is used communally by the user of a plurality of sleeping boxes. The previously described disadvantages of communal washing and showering areas can thus not be fully remedied. Moreover, the additional box as a sanitary area greatly increases the volume required for the compact sleeping units, which is inconsistent with the basic concept of the compact sleeping units, namely, to create a facility for overnight accommodation with minimal volume.

The utility model DE 299 20 851 U1 likewise discloses a compact sleeping unit in the form of an individual cabin. The individual cabin disclosed here describes a facility comparable to the patent document DE 10 2011 101 080 B4, having a high area for standing upright, and a flat area without standing height, into which it is necessary to crawl. A plurality of such individual cabins can be combined together in a composite manner to reduce the volume for use of such individual cabins. The area of standing height may comprise a sanitary facility in the form of a washbasin. A showering facility is not provided in this case.

It is disadvantageous in this case that the sanitary facility, as a washbasin, is realized such that it is very compact, to enable the compact design of the sleeping units to be maintained. As a result, the washbasin is also integrated into the area of the individual cabin that has standing height. In addition, these sanitary facilities, as washbasins, are not very convenient, and are of a very spartan design. This is due to the fact that the primary aim of the invention of DE 299 20 851 U1, and also of DE 10 2011 101 080 B4, is to provide sleeping boxes with the least possible volume, with the result that there is no space for more washing facilities than just a small washbasin.

In the case of the previously described accommodation facilities, or their sleeping units, it is disadvantageous that, owing to their minimal volume, such compact sleeping units may frequently be perceived by their users as being too cramped and oppressive, and this may deter potential users from using them. In addition, the beds are usually accessed in that they have to be entered via the foot end or via the head end. Moreover, in some cases the beds can only be accessed in that it is necessary to climb up or crawl down into the beds. For older people, in particular, this can be very awkward and unpleasant, such that such sleeping units are perceived as uncomfortable, and are not used.

It is an object of the present invention to improve the comfort of a compact sleeping unit of the type described at the outset. In particular, a compact sleeping unit is to be provided, that can be perceived by the user as being more spacious, or less cramped and oppressive, than as known hitherto.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the features of the characterizing part of claim 1, and by the features of claim 15. Advantageous developments are described in the dependent claims.

The present invention thus relates to a compact sleeping unit for an accommodation facility such as, for example, an hotel or the like. The compact sleeping unit has at least one standing area that, at least in sections, has standing height, i.e. in the standing area is of a height such that here it is possible for an adult person to stand upright. The compact sleeping unit additionally has at least one sleeping area, i.e. an area in which an adult person can sleep or rest lying down.

Such compact sleeping units are known from the prior art. They have the disadvantage that they may be perceived as being very cramped and oppressive, and usually the bed has to be accessed from the head end or foot end, in some cases even by climbing up or crawling down, which can greatly diminish comfort in the use of such compact sleeping units, and hence their attractiveness. These deficits in comfort are due to the aim of such compact sleeping units, to provide a sleeping facility with minimal volume.

The compact sleeping unit according to the invention is characterized in that the standing area is arranged on a lower storey, and the sleeping area is arranged on an upper storey. In this case, “lower” and “upper” are to be understood in relation to height. “Storeys” are to be understood to mean differing levels above one another as in a building, in particular such as, for example, in the case of a maisonette apartment.

The present invention is then based on the concept that, by the extension of a compact sleeping unit to a second storey, although the volume is substantially increased to create more usable area, or usable volume, for the user, the base area can nevertheless be kept small. In other words, a large amount of usable space, or usable volume, can be created on a minimal base area. At the same time, owing to the second storey, a certain spaciousness can be imparted to the compactness of the sleeping unit, such that a compact sleeping unit according to the invention can be perceived by the user as being as less oppressive, and therefore as more comfortable.

Preferably, the standing area comprises substantially the entire lower storey, and is used for occupation when standing, e.g. for entering the compact sleeping unit, for dressing, showering and the like. The standing area may be divided, for example, into an entrance area, a changing area and a washing area, each of which may have standing height, at least in sections. It is not necessary in this case for the lower storey to have standing height over its entire area, but only partially.

Preferably, the at least one entrance area of the lower storey has standing height, such that the compact sleeping unit can be entered upright. In addition, it is consequently possible to use standard doors that can also be opened inward at standing height. Preferably, the remaining areas of the lower storey also substantially have standing height, such that it is possible, for example, to change or shower while standing upright, and thus in a comfortable manner.

The upper storey is likewise for occupation, but not necessarily for occupation when standing, since here a possibility is created for the user to relax, i.e. to lie down to rest or sleep. This in principle does not require any standing height, such that, despite there being two storeys, the height of the compact sleeping unit as a whole can be kept as small as possible. The sleeping area may also be referred to as a rest area. Preferably, however, the upper storey is also of standing height, at least in section, in order to offer the user greater comfort in the ability to stand upright, in particular in accessing the sleeping facility from a standing position, or in rising from the sleeping facility by standing upright.

It is also advantageous in this case that, owing to the usable area being divided into two storeys, it is possible to achieve separation of the sleeping area of the upper storey from, for example, an entrance area, changing area or showering or washing area of the lower storey. This makes it possible, for example, for dirt that may be brought into the compact sleeping unit on shoes to be kept away from the sleeping area. The wetness from the showering or washing area can also be kept away from the sleeping area. In this way, the quality of sleeping or resting can be improved.

According to a further aspect of the present invention, the upper storey has at least one sleeping means, preferably a bed, wherein the sleeping means is arranged higher than a floor of the upper storey. A “sleeping means” in this case is to be understood to mean a means, or facility, for sleeping, lying, resting, relaxing and the like, which preferably may be a bed. This sleeping means in this case is raised relative to the floor of the upper storey. It is advantageous in this case that the user can lie down on the sleeping means, or rise from the sleeping means, as in the case of a “normal” bed. In other words, sleeping on the floor can be avoided. This can increase comfort, especially for older persons.

Preferably, the area of the floor of the upper storey that is arranged next to the sleeping means, and from which the sleeping means can be accessed, likewise has standing height. This can render occupation of the upper storey more comfortable for the user, in particular because it makes it easier and more comfortable to lie down on the sleeping means, and to rise from the sleeping means.

Preferably, the upper-storey area that has standing height is arranged, at least in sections, on the long side of the sleeping means, such that it is made possible to access or leave the sleeping means via its lateral side, as in the case of a “normal” bed. For the user, this can create the impression of being able to enjoy the customary comfort of a bed as at home, despite the compactness of the sleeping unit.

According to a further aspect of the present invention, the standing area beneath the sleeping means has standing height, and beneath the floor of the upper storey the standing height is not attained. In other words, the floor of the upper storey is arranged with a lateral offset relative to the standing area of the lower storey. As a result, the previously described advantages of the standing height of the lower storey and the comfortable accessing of the sleeping means of the upper storey can be combined, in that the sleeping means is arranged both above the lower-storey area that has standing height and higher than the floor of the upper storey. The area of the lower storey, beneath the floor of the upper storey, that accordingly does not have standing height may usefully be used, for example, as storage space.

It is advantageous in this case that the floor of the upper storey can be accessed by surmounting a lesser height difference. This enables a device for surmounting this difference to be realized in a more compact manner, by means of an ascent means such as, for example, a staircase, which can favor the compactness of the sleeping unit as a whole. In addition, owing to the offset of the areas of standing height of the two storeys, the structural height of the compact sleeping unit as a whole can be reduced, which likewise can render possible a more compact sleeping unit.

According to a further aspect of the present invention, the lower storey and the upper storey are connected to each other by means of an ascent means, preferably by means of a staircase. The ascent means can enable the user to change over between the two storeys, through a corresponding opening of the upper storey. The ascent means may be, for example, a ladder. Preferably, however, the connection between the two storeys is made by a staircase. For the user, and particularly for older persons, this can be comparatively more comfortable and safer.

According to a further aspect of the present invention, the ascent means, preferably the staircase, is of a closed design. This means that at least the vertical gaps between the individual steps are realized such that they are closed. Preferably, the ascent facility is arranged, at least on one side, on a wall or on a plurality of walls of the compact sleeping unit, such that, here also, a closure can be effected.

In this way, the area beneath the ascent means can be used for storing luggage, clothing or the like. It is advantageous in this case that objects, or also dirt, that may be carried up the ascent means by the user's feet and deposited there, cannot fall through the closed individual levels and into the lower storey, onto persons or objects. As a result, for example, the objects stowed beneath the ascent means can be stored in a clean manner.

Preferably, the area beneath the ascent means is realized as a closet, in particular having various shelves or various storage surfaces. A convenient and clean storage facility can thereby be created.

Preferably, the closet is realized such that it is open at the side, i.e. it does not have any doors or the like. It is advantageous in this case that, owing to the minimal base area of the compact sleeping unit, doors swinging open could be somewhat obstructive. In addition, in this way the stowed objects can be rendered easily and rapidly accessible.

Preferably, the closet may alternatively have a curtain or laterally movable doors in order to create a closable closet, but to avoid the disadvantage of the doors swinging open. This can have the advantage that a closed closet may be perceived by the user as being tidy in appearance. In addition, in this way the objects stored in the closed closet can be protected against dust, dirt and the like.

According to a further aspect of the present invention, the lower storey and the upper storey are connected by means of an opening that preferably extends beyond the base area of an ascent means. An ascent means, by which a user can change over between the two storeys, can lead through this opening. At the same time, light can pass through this opening from one storey into the other storey, which can serve to illuminate the respectively other storey. Air can also be exchanged, through this opening, between the two storeys.

Preferably, the opening is realized such that it is considerably larger horizontally than is necessary for the ascent means. For this purpose, preferably, the opening is realized in the upper storey as an air space over the entry area of the lower storey, i.e. the upper storey interrupted over the entrance area of the lower storey, such that, not only can an ascent means be arranged here, but above the entrance area it is also possible to have a view upward, over both storeys, preferably to the ceiling of the ceiling of the compact sleeping unit. For the user, this can create an impression of greater spaciousness, and make the sleeping unit appear less cramped and oppressive.

According to a further aspect of the present invention, there is a window arranged in the upper storey. Light can enter from outside through the window, into the interior of the compact sleeping unit, and make the interior appear less cramped and oppressive. “Outside” in this case may be understood to mean outside of the accommodation facility, and from outside of the compact sleeping unit, from a corridor or the like inside the accommodation facility.

Preferably, the window is arranged in the upper storey of the compact sleeping unit. This can have the advantage that the window can be arranged at such a height over the floor of the first storey, and therefore also in relation to the exterior environment of the compact sleeping unit, that, although light can enter the interior of the compact sleeping unit, it is not possible to look in from the outside.

Preferably, the window is visible from the sleeping means. It is advantageous in this case that the user can look out through the window from the sleeping means, which can improve the comfort of use of the compact sleeping unit. In particular, owing to this possibility of looking out, the compact sleeping unit can be perceived as less cramped and oppressive.

Preferably, the window is realized over the entire area of the compact sleeping unit, such that the effects achieved by the window can be enhanced.

Preferably, the window is arranged above the entrance area of the lower storey, or in the area of the opening that connects the two storeys. It is advantageous in this case that, in this way, the lower storey, and in particular the entrance area of the lower storey, can be illuminated naturally through the opening that connects the two storeys, in that usually it is the interior of the lower storey that is visited most frequently, or occupied for the longest amount of time. In this way, also, it is possible to enter from the outside into a naturally illuminated compact sleeping unit, which can create a more pleasing impression on the user, instead of entering a dark compact sleeping unit and possibly having to search in the dark for a light switch.

According to a further aspect of the present invention, the lower storey and/or the upper storey has a washing area that has standing height, at least in sections. There may be a washbasin, a shower, or a shower and a washbasin in the washing area. The user can thus shower or wash at any time, and alone. For many people, this is more important than having their own WC, such that the latter does not have to be integrated into the compact sleeping unit, such that the volume, and in particular the base area, can be kept small. The distance from the sleeping means to the shower or washbasin can also be shortened. Moreover, the washing or showering accessories are always available and do not have to be taken along as would be necessary in the case of a communal washing and showering area.

Providing the washing area exclusively in the upper storey can have the advantage that the discharge of the used water can be configured more easily, in respect of the required installations, than in the case of the washbasin being arranged in the lower storey, where the discharge would have to be provided beneath the floor of the lower storey. The latter can necessitate raising the flower of the lower storey, or otherwise hinder reliable discharging of the waste water, such that these disadvantages can be avoided by providing the washing area in the upper storey.

Furthermore, it may be advantageous in this case that a user can access the washbasin directly after rising from the sleeping area, without having to leave the upper storey. This can be perceived as particularly pleasant and convenient.

It may also be advantageous that further persons can occupy the lower storey, without a user in the upper storey having to feel inconvenienced or restricted in using the washing area, and in particular the shower.

It may additionally be advantageous that, owing to the washing area being arranged exclusively in the upper storey, an additional usable space can be created in the lower storey, which would otherwise be occupied by the washing area. A second sleeping area can thus be arranged, for example in the lower storey, in particular beneath the washing area, to enable the compact sleeping unit to be used, with separate sleeping facilities, by two persons. A relaxation area such as, for example, a sofa or a lounger, may also be arranged in the lower storey, in particular beneath the washing area, to enable this area of the compact sleeping unit to be used like a living room, e.g. for reading, relaxing, watching television, etc. Also in the lower storey there may also additionally be sufficient volume to accommodate a storage means such as, for example, an open or closed closet, in particular next to the relaxation area.

Alternatively, there may also be a first washing area, in the form of a shower, in the upper storey, and a second washing area, in the form of a washbasin, in the lower storey. In this way, the aforementioned advantages of a shower in the upper storey can be maintained, but with the creation of a facility in the lower storey, for example for hand-washing immediately after entering the compact sleeping unit, without having to enter the upper storey, and in particular the shower, while wearing shoes. It can also be made possible, for example, to brush one's teeth in the lower storey, without having to enter the shower for this purpose. In this case, reliable discharge from the washbasin of the lower storey can be ensured in that the outflow of a washbasin can be positioned considerably higher than the outflow of a shower.

Preferably, insofar as the shower is arranged in the lower storey, the shower is arranged such that it is spaced apart from the entrance area of the sleeping unit, or from the entrance area. As a result, on the one hand, dirt or the like that may be brought in from outside, e.g. on the soles of the user's shoes, into the compact sleeping unit, can be kept away from the washing area. On the other hand, the shower water can be kept away from the rest of the floor of the compact sleeping unit, to prevent the floor from becoming wet and in order that the shower water is not spread further by the feet inside the compact sleeping unit.

According to a further aspect of the present invention, the washing area has at least one washing means, preferably a shower and/or a washbasin. By means of a washbasin, certain washing facilities, e.g. for teeth brushing, can be created within the compact sleeping unit. A shower can also provide for showering within the compact sleeping unit, which can particularly increase the convenience of use of such a compact sleeping unit, since it can be made possible to shower, for example, directly after rising, without leaving the compact sleeping unit. Showering can also be performed alone, which can be perceived by many people as being very important for preserving privacy.

According to a further aspect of the present invention, the compact sleeping unit has a partition means, preferably a door or a curtain, which is realized such that it can separate the washing area from the rest of the first storey or from the rest of the second storey. In this way, the washing area, as a wet area, can be separated from the rest of the interior. This makes it possible to avoid the rest of the interior of the compact sleeping unit from becoming wet as the result of use of the washing facility, and in particular the shower.

According to a further aspect of the present invention, the partition means is of a translucent design. In this way, the interior of the washing area can be lit from outside, i.e. from the rest of the interior of the compact sleeping unit, e.g. from outside through a window. In addition, in this way the interior of the washing area can be perceived as less cramped and oppressive.

According to a further aspect of the present invention, the lower storey and/or the upper storey has an image representation that can be illuminated. This is to be understood to mean that an image is graphically represented on a background, and this image can be illuminated from behind and/or from in front. The image representation is preferably a pictorial representation. In this way, the interior of the compact sleeping unit can be embellished and thereby made more comfortable.

Preferably, the image representation produces a three-dimensional optical effect, such that the interior of the compact sleeping unit can appear less cramped and oppressive.

Preferably, the image representation is arranged in the upper storey, and particularly preferably parallel to the longer side of the sleeping means, on the inner wall of the compact sleeping unit that is opposite the latter, such that the image representation can be seen, in particular, from the sleeping means. In this way, the positive effect of the image representation can be brought to bear precisely where the user can spend time for sleeping or relaxing.

Preferably, the illumination of the image representation can be switched on and off, such that, for example, the illumination can be switched off for sleeping. This also enables the electricity consumption to be reduced, when the user is not in the compact sleeping unit.

Preferably, the illumination of the image representation can be dimmed. In this way, the user can adjust as required the brightness, and thus the noticeability, of the image representation that can be illuminated, e.g. with low illumination for resting or sleeping.

Preferably, the image representation is printed on a film. This enables the image representation to be produced easily and inexpensively. In addition, a flexible, i.e. pliable, film is easily handled and mounted or removed.

Preferably, the image representation occupies substantially the entire surface of the corresponding wall of the compact sleeping unit. The effects of the image representation can thereby be enhanced.

According to a further aspect of the present invention, the image representation is designed to be illuminated from behind by means of LEDs. The illumination from behind, i.e. from the rear of the image representation, can be space-saving, because the illumination can be integrated into the wall of the compact sleeping unit. The illumination, or the lighting means, can also be protected from access by the user. The use of LEDs can be advantageous because LEDs can be long-lasting and energy-saving, and also generate little heat. In addition, owing to their compact structural design, LEDs can be used in a very space-saving manner, such that the image representation that can be illuminated can be integrated flatly into the wall or arranged flatly on the wall.

According to a further aspect of the present invention, the image representation is designed to be replaceable. The user can thus search for an image for their stay, from a plurality of available images. This enables the compact sleeping unit to be made more individual, which can increase the comfort of use.

The present invention also relates to an accommodation facility having at least one compact sleeping unit as previously described. Such compact sleeping units can be combined to form an hotel, hostel or the like. Other mobile or non-mobile accommodation facilities, intended to accommodate many people permanently or short-term, can also be constructed in this manner, e.g. as accommodation means at events such as, for example, a football event, a festival or the like. Emergency accommodation means such as, for example, refugee camps or the like, may also be realized as such an accommodation facility. In this case, the advantage of such compact sleeping units can be used to provide, on a minimal base area, a facility for overnight accommodation that nevertheless, owing to its two-storey structure, inter alia, can offer a certain degree of comfort. In particular, integrated storage facilities and a personal washing area, and in particular showering area, can provide for comfort for more prolonged use.

Two exemplary embodiments and further advantages of the invention are explained in the following in combination with the following figures. There are shown therein:

FIGS. 1 to 5 show differing perspective schematic representations, or top views, of a compact sleeping unit 1 according to a first exemplary embodiment, from differing sides, or storey-wise from above. The compact sleeping unit 1 extends in the horizontal plane in a longitudinal direction X, which may also be referred to as depth X, and a transverse direction Y, which may also be referred to as width Y. Extending perpendicularly in relation to the horizontal plane is a vertical direction Z, which may also be referred to as height Z, see e.g. FIGS. 1 to 3.

According to the invention, the compact sleeping unit 1 has a lower storey 2 and an upper storey 3, which are arranged over one another in the height Z. The lower storey 2 has substantially a standing area 20 that, in the height Z, is dimensioned in such a manner that an adult person can stand upright here. The standing area 20 is divided, according to its functions, into differing areas 20a, 20b, 20c, wherein there are arranged, in the depth X, starting from the front side of the compact sleeping unit 1, an entrance area 20a, then a changing area 20b, and finally a washing area 20c, see e.g. FIGS. 1 and 4. These areas 20a, 20b, 20c have a uniform floor 21, starting from which the standing height is measured, in the height Z, see e.g. FIG. 1.

The front side of the compact sleeping unit 1 has an entrance door 22 that can be opened outward, so that no space for this function is required inside the compact sleeping unit 1, see e.g. FIG. 4. The part of the standing height 20 into which the entrance door 22 leads therefore also constitutes the entrance area 20a.

In the entrance area 20a, an ascent means 23, in the form of a closed staircase 23, leads into the upper storey 3. The area beneath the staircase 23, which does not have standing height, serves as a storage means 24 in the form of an open closet 24, or an open lower stair step 24. For example, suitcases and the like, and clothing and the like, can be stored here. For this purpose, there is also a clothes rail 25 provided in the closet 24, to allow clothing to be hung up. On the floor of the closet 24 there is also a waste bin 26, arranged in a space-saving manner. This part of the standing area 20 can therefore also be referred to as a changing area 20b, since the closet 24 is also directly accessible here. Provided between the changing area 20b and the staircase 23 is a partition wall 27, which closes off the staircase 23 from the changing area 20b to the side in the transverse direction Y, see e.g. FIG. 1.

The changing area 20b is delimited in the depth X by a translucent partition means 29 in the from of a glass door 29. Behind the glass door 29 is the washing area 20c of the compact sleeping unit 1, which has a washing means 28 in the form of a shower 28a, and a washing means 28 in the form of a washbasin 28b, see e.g. FIGS. 1 and 4.

The upper storey 3 of the compact sleeping unit 1 forms the sleeping area 30. The upper storey 3 has a floor 31 that, in the height Z, is arranged above the closet 24 and the washbasin 28b, see e.g. FIGS. 2 to 5. Beneath the floor 31, the standing height is not attained, such that the closet 24 and the washbasin 28b can be arranged here without the quality of standing upright being impaired for the user. The staircase 23 ends at this floor 31 of the upper storey 3.

The upper storey 3, as a sleeping area 30, has a sleeping means 33 in the form of a bed 33, which is arranged higher than the floor 31 of the upper storey 3, and specifically above the standing area 20 of the lower storey 2. This renders possible an overall structure of the compact sleeping unit 1 that is as flat as possible. The bed 33 in this case can be used comfortably from the side, and with the height difference of a standard bed 33 relative to the floor 31, which can greatly improve the comfort of the compact sleeping unit 1 according to the invention, cf., for example, FIGS. 2 and 3.

Arranged on the wall, next to the head end of the bed 33, at the rear, i.e. facing away from the front side of the compact sleeping unit 1 in the depth X, is a storage or depositing means 35 in the form of a bedside cabinet 35, to create a storage facility that can be reached from the bed 33, cf., for example, FIG. 2.

The staircase 23 leads from the lower storey 2, through an opening 32 in the upper storey 3, to the floor 31 of the upper storey 3, this opening 32 being deliberately realized such that it is considerably wider horizontally than would be necessary for taking through the staircase 23. As a result, owing to the opening 32, an air space 32 above the entrance area 20a is also created, such that more light can be exchanged between the two storeys 2, 3, cf., for example, FIGS. 1 and 2. This can give the user an impression of greater spaciousness of the compact sleeping unit 1.

Toward the air space 32, the bed 22 has a translucent delimiting means 34, in the form of a glass partition pane 34. This partition pane 34 makes it possible, for example, to prevent a bed cover from falling downward through the air space 32. Owing to the translucency of the partition pane 34, an impression of greater spaciousness can be achieved, or the impression of a visual separation by the partition pane 34 can be avoided, see e.g. FIGS. 1 and 2.

Arranged above the entrance door 22 is a window 36, which extends substantially over the entire width Y of the compact sleeping unit 1 and which in the height Z is arranged somewhat above the bed 33, cf., for example, FIGS. 1 to 3 and 5. Through the window 36, natural light can pass from outside into the compact sleeping unit 1, such that the interior can appear brighter. In addition, in this way the compact sleeping unit 1 can be entered in a lit state. Moreover, it is possible to create for the user the possibility of being able to look out through the window 36, in particular from the bed 33, cf., for example, FIGS. 1 to 3.

Arranged in the upper storey 3, on the left inner side of the compact sleeping unit 1, i.e. opposite the bed 33 in the width Y, is an image representation 37 that can be illuminated, which can be viewed by the user, in particular from the bed 33. The interior of the compact sleeping unit 1 can thereby be made more welcoming. The image representation 37 is realized as a flat film and let into the side wall of the compact sleeping unit 1, or it occupies the entire side wall of the upper storey 3, i.e. it extends over the entire depth X and height Z of the side wall. A very impressive effect of the image representation 37 that can be illuminated can thus be achieved. The illumination of the image representation 37 is effected from behind, by means of a multiplicity of LEDs.

The image representation 37 is preferably designed to be replaceable, such that a user can search for the image according to their requirement, which can impart a certain individual character to the compact sleeping unit 1.

The image representation 37 has a three-dimensional effect, such that the upper storey 3 of the compact sleeping unit 1 can be perceived by the user as being wider.

FIGS. 6 to 9 show differing perspective schematic representations, or top views, of a compact sleeping unit 1 according to a second exemplary embodiment, from differing sides, or storey-wise from above. The compact sleeping unit 1 according to the second exemplary embodiment differs from the compact sleeping unit 1 according to the first exemplary embodiment of FIGS. 1 to 5 in that a washing area 30c is also provided in the second storey. This washing area 30c is arranged, in the width Y, next to the sleeping means 33 at the level of the floor 31 of the upper storey 3 and, in the depth X, maximally spaced apart from the ascent means 23. The washing area 30c has a washing means 38 in the form of a shower 38a, which can be separated from the rest of the upper storey 3 by a partition means 39.

Accordingly, in the lower storey 2, it is possible to dispense with a washing area 20c of the scope of a shower 28a, cf., for example, FIGS. 1 and 4. Instead, a smaller washing area 20c, having only a washbasin 28b, may be provided, in order to create here the possibility for a user, for example, to brush their teeth, wash their hands, face, etc. without having to use the shower 38a on the upper storey 3 for this purpose. This can be advantageous, in particular, if a user, for example, wishes to wash their hands immediately after entering the compact sleeping unit 1, before having removed their shoes, which may possibly be dirty.

As an alternative to the washbasin 28b, a storage means 24, in the form of an open or closed clothes closet 24, could also be arranged at this location. This would crate additional stowage space, even if this were to necessitate dispensing with the previously described advantages of a separate washbasin 28b in the lower storey. In this case, as described in the first exemplary embodiment, for the lower storey 2, there could be a washbasin in the washing means 38 of the upper storey 3 (not represented).

Since the transfer of the shower 38a into the upper storey 3 has released a not inconsiderable volume of the lower storey 2, in the case of the compact sleeping unit 1 according to the second exemplary embodiment there is the possibility to create an additional relaxation area 20b, e.g. in the form of a lounger 20d, by dispensing with the storage means 24 beneath the ascent means 23 and beneath the floor 31 of the upper storey 3, including the area beneath the shower 30c of the upper storey 3. This lounger 20d can be used for relaxing, reading, watching television etc., as an alternative to the sleeping means 33 of the upper storey 3. However, the lounger 20d may also be used as an additional sleeping means 20d of the lower storey 2. In any case, the lounger 20d may have one or more cushions 20e, which can be arranged in a removable manner on an outer wall of the compact sleeping unit 1, in such a manner that, for the user, the comfort of the lounger 20d can be increased.

According to the invention, the compact sleeping unit 1 according to FIGS. 1 to 5 and that according to FIGS. 6 to 9 have numerous features that can improve the comfort of use of such a compact sleeping unit 1, as compared with known compact sleeping units 1, as previously described. In this case, the arranging of the bed 33 in a second storey 3 is of particular importance, since this creates considerably more design and usage possibilities, for a comparable base area, in comparison with known compact sleeping units 1. A separate sleeping area 30 can thus be created, which can be spaced apart from the entrance area 20a and the like, which can improve sleeping comfort. In addition, the window 36 and the image representation 37 that can be illuminated of the upper storey 3, by means of the optical effects that can be achieved thereby, make it possible to achieve an impression of the compact sleeping unit 1 that is more spacious, or less oppressive. Moreover, a personal washbasin 20c, 30c in one of the two storeys 2, 3, or also in both storeys 2, 3, together with, in particular, a personal shower 28a, 38a, can significantly increase the comfort of use of a compact sleeping unit 1.

FIG. 10 shows a schematic representation of an accommodation facility 4 having compact sleeping units 1 according to the invention, according to one of the two exemplary embodiments, from above. A plurality of compact sleeping units 1 according to the invention are arranged in a corresponding area 40 inside a building. This area 40 is accessible from outside, through an access door 44.

Adjoining the area 40 of the compact sleeping units 1 inside the building is a common WC area 41, in which individual WC cabins 42, and washbasins 43 for communal use, are arranged. In this way, a plurality of compact sleeping units 1 according to the invention can be combined to form an accommodation facility 4, e.g. as an hotel.

Claims

1. A compact sleeping unit for an accommodation facility, having at least one standing area, that, at least in sections, has standing height, and at least one sleeping area, characterized in that the standing area is arranged on a lower storey, and the sleeping area is arranged on an upper storey.

2. The compact sleeping unit as claimed in claim 1, wherein the upper storey has at least one sleeping means, preferably a bed, wherein the sleeping means is arranged higher than a floor of the upper storey.

3. The compact sleeping unit as claimed in claim 2, wherein the standing area beneath the sleeping means has standing height, and beneath the floor of the upper storey the standing height is not attained.

4. The compact sleeping unit as claimed in claim 1, wherein the lower storey and the upper storey are connected to each other by means of an ascent means, preferably by means of a staircase.

5. The compact sleeping unit as claimed in claim 4, wherein the ascent means, preferably the staircase, is of a closed design.

6. The compact sleeping unit as claimed in claim 1, wherein the lower storey and the upper storey are connected by means of an opening that preferably extends beyond the base area of an ascent means.

7. The compact sleeping unit as claimed in claim 1, wherein there is a window arranged in the upper storey.

8. The compact sleeping unit as claimed in claim 1, wherein the lower storey and/or the upper storey have/has a washing area that has standing height, at least in sections.

9. The compact sleeping unit as claimed in claim 8, wherein the washing area has at least one washing means, preferably a shower and/or a washbasin.

10. The compact sleeping unit as claimed in claim 9, additionally having a partitioning means, preferably a door or a curtain, which is realized such that it can separate the washing area from the rest of the first storey or from the rest of the second storey.

11. The compact sleeping unit as claimed in claim 10, wherein the partition means is of a translucent design.

12. The compact sleeping unit as claimed in claim 1, wherein the lower storey and/or the upper storey have/has an image representation that can be illuminated.

13. The compact sleeping unit as claimed in claim 12, wherein the image representation is designed to be illuminated from behind by means of LEDs.

14. The compact sleeping unit as claimed in claim 12, wherein the image representation is designed to be replaceable.

15. An accommodation facility, having at least one compact sleeping unit as claimed in claim 1.
