Armorer Tool
An armorer tool designed to disassemble, assemble, clean, and maintain the function of firearms, to include, but not be limited to, all Glock pistols.

BACKGROUNDThe Glock Operator's Tool, referred to throughout as the armorer tool, is designed for, but is not limited to, Glock pistols. The armorer tool is designed for, but not limited to, applications in firearm maintenance, assembly and disassembly of firearms, and all associated applications relating to the functioning of firearms and their various accessories and components. Prior tools designed to function in the above noted areas of application lack both the combination of each configured feature all combined on the armorer tool and specific configured elements unique to this tool.
Current iterations of firearm armorer tools require one to require one to use different tools to achieve the same function of the armorer tool or they lack the function of the armorer tool features entirely. Some current iterations of armorer tools may help to disassemble a firearm magazine but lack a punch to remove frame pins or vice versa. The armorer's tool also has features, such as the channel that secures the firing pin for assembly and disassembly, that are unique to the armorer's tool. The armorer's tool is a combination of unique function, such as the magazine base plate removal feature and the hollow channel for securing the firing pin mechanism, with existing generic design such as the straight punch protrusion.
SUMMARYIn general terms, this disclosure is directed to an armorer tool for the assembly, disassembly, maintenance, and cleaning of various firearms, to include all Glock pistols, but not to be limited to such.
In one aspect, a method for disassembly, and assembly, of the firing pin mechanism whereby the firing pin and spring are secured on the armorer tool's spring assist channel
In another aspect, a method for disassembly of firearm magazines whereby the magazine plate is secured, and released, by an edge and elongate member of the armorer tool.
In yet another aspect, a method whereby the back strap, on the hand grip of a firearm, is removed by an edged member on the armorer tool.
In yet another aspect, the edged members of the armorer tool reach various areas of the firearm to assist in cleaning and general maintenance of function.
In another aspect, a method whereby an elongate member, attached to the body of the tool located and referred to as the ‘front portion’, assists in removing and manipulating various firearm parts.
Various embodiments are described herein in detail with reference to the drawings, wherein like reference numerals represent like parts and assemblies throughout the several views. Reference to various embodiments does not limit the scope of the appended claims. Additionally, any examples set forth in this specification are not intended to be limiting and merely set forth some of the many possible embodiments for the appended claims.
Claims
1. An armorer tool for use with all parts of a firearm, including but not limited to the firearm frame and its components, the firearm slide and its components, the firearm barrel and it's components, the firing pin group and its components, the firing pin spring and all associated components, the magazine to be inserted into the firearm and its components, comprising: an elongate member comprising a front portion, a rear portion, and a body portion between the front portion, and the rear portion, the front portion comprising a straight length of material protruding from the body configured to manipulate firearm components mentioned above, but not limited to such; the rear portion comprising at least two protrusions, extending beyond the surface, configured to secure the base plate of a firearm magazine, and at least one protrusion configured to assist in firearm cleaning; the body consisting of at least two protrusions protruding beyond a profile of the body portion, and opposing each protrusion on the rear portion configured to secure magazine base plates, configured to fit into the detent of a firearm magazine, at least one hollowed portion that indents into the surface of the body, containing at least one cut out on the lip surface of the hollowed indent configured to secure elements of the firing pin, and containing at least three semi-circle, indented, hollowed edges configured to secure the edges of the firing pin spring, and at least one protrusion, extending beyond the surface of the body closest to the front portion, all of which is disposed on the body portion at locations configured to be aligned with the elements noted.

The armorer tool of claim 1, wherein at least two protrusions on the rear are aligned, in opposing position, to the two protrusions on the body, configured so that the two protrusions on the body are inserted into the magazine base plate detent as the two protrusions on the rear align with the outer edge of the magazine base plate.

The armorer tool of claim 1, wherein a length of hollowed surface of the body creating a vacant channel, containing at least one hollowed notch cut into the lip of the hollowed channel on the body surface, and containing at least three protruding, semi-circle protrusions with space between each configured to secure the edges of a firing pin spring, configured to secure the components of a firing pin mechanism.
4. The armorer tool of claim 1, wherein at least one protrusion, with a edged surface, from the surface of the body, on the end where the front portion attaches to the body portion, extends from the surface of the body configured to manipulate firearm parts requiring an edged surface.
5. The armorer tool of claim 1, wherein at least one protrusion, with an edged surface, extends from the surface of the body, on the opposite end of the body from the surface where the front portion is attached.
6. A method for assembly, disassembly, and cleaning of a firearm, the method comprising: a. Utilizing the front portion of the armorer tool to manipulate parts of the firearm components related to assembly and disassembly; b. Utilizing the protrusions on the body, and the rear, of the armorer tool, which are in opposing positions configured to both secure the edge of the firearm magazine baseplate and depress the detent on the magazine baseplate simultaneously; c. inserting a firing pin mechanism into the hollowed channel in the body portion of the armorer tool so that the spring mechanism and firing pin protrusion mate with the channel utilizing the cut out in the lip of the channel and the semi-circle protrusions in the channel such that the firing pin mechanism is secured with the channel; d. manipulating elements of a firearm with the front portion of the armorer tool; e. manipulating elements of a firearm with the sharp edge of at least one protrusion on the body portion closest to the front portion; f. Utilizing at least one protrusion as noted above, on the body portion opposite the front portion, to reach firearm areas to be cleaned.
7. The method of claim 6 further comprising: subsequently removing the firearm magazine base plate from the magazine and armorer tool
8. The method of claim 6 further comprising: subsequently disassembling the firing pin mechanism and removing it from the hollowed channel in the armorer tool.
9. The method of claim 6 further comprising: subsequently re-inserting the firing pin assembly into the hollowed channel on the body portion and assembling the firing pin mechanism and removing it from the hollowed channel in the armorer tool.
10. The method of claim 7, wherein a protrusion on the body portion, in opposing position to the protrusion on the rear portion, are are used, respectively, to depress the detent on the firearm magazine base plate and slide over the opposing edge of the magazine base plate, thereby mating the armorer tool to the magazine base plate while sliding the magazine base plate apart from the main portion of the magazine

The method of claim 8, wherein the protruding firing pin notch is inserted into the cut out in the lip of the hollowed channel in the body portion of the armorer tool and the firing pin spring is mated to the three semi-circle protrusions within the hollowed channel of the body portion securing the firing pin mechanism within the hollowed channel

The method of claim 9, wherein the protruding firing pin notch is inserted into the cut out in the lip of the hollowed channel in the body portion of the armorer tool and the firing pin spring is mated to the three semi-circle protrusions within the hollowed channel of the body portion securing the firing pin assembly within the hollowed channel
