Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a container structure of a spray can that may be manufactured at a reduced manufacturing cost.

2. Description of Related Art

A spray can is a container filled with compressed fluid and content such as paint, oil, or hair styling products. For improving rigidity of the spray can, a traditional spray can is integrally made of metal. Since the traditional spray can is a metallic integral structure, it is able to sustain pressure caused by the compressed fluid. However, the traditional spray can of an integral structure can be refilled only by specialized tools. Therefore, the traditional spray can is inconvenient for refilling.

In order to mitigate a problem that the traditional spray can is inconvenient for refilling, a conventional spray can with two detachable bodies has been invented. The conventional spray can has an upper body and a lower body. The lower body is detachably connected to the upper body of the conventional spray can. When the conventional spray can runs out of content therein, the upper body and the lower body are detachable from each other for refilling in the steps as follows. First refill the lower body Then, rejoin the lower body and the upper body. Finally, refill the conventional spray can with compressed fluid by a pneumatic compressor.

The conventional spray can is able to sustain the pressure caused by the compressed fluid; nevertheless the lower body and the upper body are still made of metal. The conventional spray can has problems of high manufacturing and machining expenses. On the other hand, in order to enhance rigidity of the lower body and the upper body of the conventional spray can, thickness of the lower body and the upper body of the conventional spray can has to be increased, which further increases expense of material for manufacturing.

To overcome the shortcomings of the conventional spray can, the present invention provides a spray can to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main objective of the present invention is to provide a spray can that is able to reduce manufacturing expense on the premise of maintaining rigidity of the spray can.

The spray can comprises a first body, a second body, and a reinforcing sleeve. The first body is made of plastic. The second body is made of plastic and is connected to the first body. The reinforcing sleeve is made of metal. The reinforcing sleeve is sleeved on the second body and is adjacent to a joining portion where the second body is connected to the first body. The first body and the second body made of plastic save a lot of material and machining expenses. The reinforcing sleeve made of metal enhances the rigidity of the joining portion of the first body and the second body.

With reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, a spray can in accordance with the present invention has a first body 10, a second body 20, and a reinforcing sleeve 30. The second body 20 is mounted to the first body 10. The reinforcing sleeve 30 is sleeved on the second body 20. The second body 20 and. the reinforcing sleeve 30 are fixed together.

With reference to FIGS. 2, 3, and 4, the first body 10 is made of plastic. The first body 10 has a lengthwise direction, an inner circumference, an outer circumference, a first end 101, a second end 102, an assembling portion 11, an annular abutting portion 12, and a gas injection hole 13. The inner circumference and the outer circumference of the first body 10 are opposite each other. The first end 101 and the second end 102 of the first body 10 are opposite in the lengthwise direction of the first body 10. The assembling portion 11 is disposed at the first end 101 of the first body 10. The assembling portion 11 has a thread formed on the outer circumference of the first body 10.

The annular abutting portion 12 is disposed on the outer circumference of the first body 10. The annular abutting portion 12 is joined to the assembling portion 11 adjacent to the first end 101 of the first body 10. With reference to FIG. 4, the gas injection hole 13 is formed through the first body 10 along the lengthwise direction of the first body 10. The gas injection hole 13 is disposed adjacent to the second end 102 of the first body 10 and may be mounted with a check valve.

With reference to FIGS. 1, 2, 5, and 6, the second body 20 is made of plastic. The second body 20 has a lengthwise direction, an interior circumference, an exterior circumference, a first end 201, a second end 202, a connecting portion 21, and two engaging rings 22. The interior circumference and the exterior circumference of the second body 20 are opposite each other. The first end 201 and the second end 202 of the second body 20 are opposite each other in the lengthwise direction of the second body 20.

The connecting portion 21 of the second body 20 is disposed at the second end 202 of the second body 20. The connecting portion 21 has a thread formed on the interior circumference of the second body 20. With reference to FIGS. 6 and 7, the two engaging rings 22 are formed on the exterior circumference of the second body 20. The two engaging rings 22 are disposed adjacent to the second end 202 of the second body 10 and are spaced at an interval.

With reference to FIGS. 2, 5, and 6, the reinforcing sleeve 30 is made of metal. The reinforcing sleeve 30 is sleeved on the second body 20 and is fixed to the second body 20. The reinforcing sleeve 30 has an interior circumference, an exterior circumference, and two engaging grooves 31. The two engaging grooves 31 of the reinforcing sleeve 30 correspond to the two engaging rings 22 of the second body 20 in amount and position. In the embodiment of the present invention, the second body 20 is made by molding. The two engaging grooves 31 of the reinforcing sleeve 30 respectively engage with the two engaging rings 22 of the second body 20.

The reinforcing sleeve 30 is connected to and fixed on the second body 20 when the second body 20 is being molded. The two engaging grooves 31 of the reinforcing sleeve 30 make the two engaging rings 22 formed on the interior circumference of the second body 20 when the second body 20 is being molded. With the reference to FIG. 8, the connecting portion 21 of the second body 20 is screwed with the assembling portion 11 of the first body 10. The second end 202 of the second body 20 and the reinforcing sleeve 30 abut against the annular abutting portion 12 of the first body 10 together at the same time. The reinforcing sleeve 30 is disposed adjacent to a joining portion -here the second body 20 is connected to the first body 10.

Steps of refilling the spray can in accordance with the present invention are as follows. First of all, the second body 20 is nscre ed from the first body 10. Since the reinforcing sleeve 30 is fixed to the second body 20, the reinforcing sleeve 30 is detached from the first body 10 with the second body 20. Content is refilled into the first body 10. The first body 10 and the second body 20 are rejoined again. Finally, compressed gas is injected into the first body 10 and the second body 20 through the gas injection hole 13 of the first body 10.

The first body 10 and the second body 20 of the spray can in accordance with the present invention are made of plastic. Therefore, the spray can in accordance with the present invention has an advantage of low material expenses. Compared to the conventional spray can integrally made of metal, the spray can in accordance with the present invention saves the expense of machining. The manufacturing expense of the spray can in accordance with the present invention is further reduced. The metallic reinforcing sleeve 30 mounted and fixed to the second. body 20 enhances the rigidity of the joining portion of the first body 10 and the second body 20. The reinforcing sleeve 30 makes the first body 10 and the second body 20 that are made of plastic able to sustain the pressure caused by the compressed gas. The reinforcing sleeve 30 also prevents the compressed gas bursting out from the joining portion of the first body 10 and the second body 20 to damage the spray can in accordance with the present invention. The reinforcing sleeve 30 avoids dangerous situation when the spray can in accordance with the present invention is in use.
