Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The subject-matter of the present invention is a structural node of tight separable joint between neck of a bottle and a threaded screwed cap, both of which are made of the same plastic, preferably of PET type.

BACKGROUND OF THE ART

Universally known bottles, especially for beverages, are typically made of elastic plastic of PET type, and caps screwed onto threaded necks of such bottles are usually made of coloured polyethylene (PE) or polyethylene of HDPE type which, to carry out the recycling process, requires the two materials to be sorted separately increasing thus significantly the cost of recycling for both of the two plastics.

Known from Polish patent description No. PL 178507 is a threaded plastic cap for closing a bottle or a container with a threaded neck, comprising a cylindrical portion with inner thread and upper bottom, said cap being screwed onto outer thread of the bottle neck, whereas between bottom of the screw cap and upper face edges of the cap there is a profiled seal covering also the axial orifice of the neck.

Moreover, lower rim of threaded portion of the cap is joined, by means of ribs, with a protection ring which, on its inner portion, is provided with locking lips catching outer protrusions provided on neck of the bottle.

Known from description of European patent No. EP 2862811 B1 is also a capping device for containers, especially bottles, with opening indicating means, comprising an inner cover connected with pouring sleeve, a cap, an outer casing, a base, and an indicator ring, whereas the plastic inner cover, fixed by means of a thread to the pouring sleeve, is provided on its inner surface with sealing means in the form of inner sing-shaped protrusion to provide sealing during the repeated capping of the bottle.

Further, from patent description No. U.S. Pat. No. 3,063,589 known is a bottle lock comprising an element composed of lower sleeve internally threaded to be joined with a container (bottle) and an upper sleeve threaded externally to be joined with its closing cap. Both sleeves are separated from each other by vertically situated ring to ensure tightness for a liquid.

An inconvenience of the above-quoted technical solutions is their excessively complex multi-component structure increasing significantly the manufacturing cost.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The objective of the present invention is to provide a simple and compact structure of structural node for tight and separable joint between threaded neck of bottle or container and a threaded screwed cap used to close the bottle or the contained which, both the container and the cap, would be made of the same material, preferably of PET type, such structure permitting to eliminate flaws and inconveniences of the above-quoted technical solutions, including elimination of necessity to segregate the materials, i.e. separate PET bottles from their caps made in the prior art of HDPE-type polyethylene and carry out recycling of the two materials separately.

The subject-matter of the structural node of tight separable joint between threaded neck of a bottle with a plastic screw cap according to the present invention consist in that the node comprises the cylindrical neck of the bottle and the cap screwed onto outer thread provided on the neck, said cap being provided with inner thread and an inner bushing joined inseparable with bottom of the screw cap, whereas outer surface of the bushing has at least one annular sealing tongue end of which fits tight to cylindrical surface of the neck or end of the at least one annular tongue is tightly fit in at least one circumferential groove provided on inner cylindrical surface of the neck. The cap, on inner surface of its sleeve-shaped portion, is preferably provided with annular offsets situated above its thread ends of which are tightly set in circumferential grooves provided on outer surface of the neck above its outer thread and opposite said offset ends, whereas the outer thread of bottle neck is provided with profiled protrusions on lower surface of its grooves, while the outer thread of the cap has profiled protrusions on upper surface of its crest, and between each two neighbouring protrusions provided on grooves of the outer thread there is a profiled protrusion provided on crest of the inner thread. The profiled protrusions provided on inner and outer thread have preferably two rectangular walls situated obliquely with respect to each other which, when seen from the front side, have the shape of isosceles triangles. It is also favourable when the inner sleeve of the cap has, on its inner surface, one stiffening annular tongue or several annular tongues or a stiffening thread, whereas length “L” of the inner sleeve equals 0.2-1.2 of length “L1” of outer cylindrical portion of the cap, while the sealing rings have thickness g=0.1-1.0 mm, and distances “b” between them are 0.1-5 mm. It is further favourable when outer diameters “D2” of annular sealing tongues are larger than the inner diameter “D1” of bottle neck so that D2=1.05-1.15 D1. It is also favourable when the cap is provided with a cylindrical element joined inseparably with its bottom, and outer surface of this cylindrical element has annular sealing tongues whereas the both cylindrical neck of the bottle and its screw cap are made of Polyethylene terephthalate (PET).

Application of the new structure of bottle neck screw cap equipped with a monolithic inner sleeve or a cylindrical element provided with stiffening elements and sealing elements and adaptation of structure of the bottle neck to said elements made possible to manufacture the cap also of plastic of PET type, also coming from recycling and analogous to this of which the bottle or the container onto which the cap is screwed is made. This eliminates the arduous necessity to segregate material of the bottle from material of its cap reducing thus the cost of recycling of the materials.
