Description
BACKGROUND 1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates generally to systems and methods to cool a head of a person, and more specifically, to a system and method including the features of cooling the head of a person with a fan secured to a headwear worn by the user.

2. Description of Related Art

Systems and methods for cooling a head of a person is well known in the art. For example, FIG. 1 illustrates a hat 101 having a body 103 that covers the head of the user when worn. Such headgear is well known and comes in different shapes, designs, and for different uses; all tailored to cool the head of the user along with protecting against sun exposure.

One of the problems with hat 101 and similar headwear is the limited use. For example, the headgear does not actively cool the head of the user via one or more cooling devices and is limited to merely shading the head. Accordingly, there is a need for headwear configured to actively cool the head of the user.

Although great strides have been made in the area of headwear, many shortcomings remain.

While the system and method of use of the present application is susceptible to various modifications and alternative forms, specific embodiments thereof have been shown by way of example in the drawings and are herein described in detail. It should be understood, however, that the description herein of specific embodiments is not intended to limit the invention to the particular embodiment disclosed, but on the contrary, the intention is to cover all modifications, equivalents, and alternatives falling within the spirit and scope of the present application as defined by the appended claims.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Illustrative embodiments of the system and method of use of the present application are provided below. It will of course be appreciated that in the development of any actual embodiment, numerous implementation-specific decisions will be made to achieve the developer's specific goals, such as compliance with system-related and business-related constraints, which will vary from one implementation to another. Moreover, it will be appreciated that such a development effort might be complex and time-consuming, but would nevertheless be a routine undertaking for those of ordinary skill in the art having the benefit of this disclosure.

The system and method of use in accordance with the present application overcomes one or more of the above-discussed problems commonly associated with conventional headwear. Specifically, the system of the present application includes the features of actively cooling the head of the user via a plurality of fans in gaseous communication with one of more tubes configured to channel the air from the fans to selective locations around the head of the user. These and other unique features of the system and method of use are discussed below and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.

The system and method of use will be understood, both as to its structure and operation, from the accompanying drawings, taken in conjunction with the accompanying description. Several embodiments of the system are presented herein. It should be understood that various components, parts, and features of the different embodiments may be combined together and/or interchanged with one another, all of which are within the scope of the present application, even though not all variations and particular embodiments are shown in the drawings. It should also be understood that the mixing and matching of features, elements, and/or functions between various embodiments is expressly contemplated herein so that one of ordinary skill in the art would appreciate from this disclosure that the features, elements, and/or functions of one embodiment may be incorporated into another embodiment as appropriate, unless described otherwise.

Referring now to the drawings wherein like reference characters identify corresponding or similar elements throughout the several views, FIGS. 2-5 depict various views of a cooling headwear system 201 in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present application. It will be appreciated that system 201 overcomes one or more of the above-listed problems commonly associated with the conventional systems and methods to cool the head of the user.

In the contemplated embodiment, system 201 includes a cushion body 203 configured to carry one or more of the components of system 201 therein. As depicted in the FIG. 2, the cushion is configured to rest on the head of the user and a plurality of hollow tubes 205 extending therefrom and configured to channel air to a port 207 positioned proximate to the nose of the user.

FIG. 3 illustrates a cutout back view of the cushion body 203 having the various components carried therein. System 201 is further provided with one or more fans 301a, 301b disposed within the thickness of the cushion body 203 and configured to direct air through one or more tubes 303a, 303b in gaseous communication with tubes 205 and/or a plurality of rear head tubes 309a, 309b configured to direct the air to the back of the user's head. In one contemplated embodiment, the tubes 309a, 309b are flat to further accommodate the contouring of the user's head. Also, it should be appreciated that a plurality of ports could be in gaseous communication with the tubes for providing air at selective locations around the head.

The fans are secured in location via cushion body 203 and powered by a battery 311 conductively coupled thereto via wires 307a, 307b. A USB port 313 and/or similarly suitable port is utilized to recharge the battery 311.

The system is further provided with one or more straps 315 configured to engage with the head of the user and configured to secure the cushion body 203 is a relatively stationary position. In one embodiment, the straps 315 are adjustably attached to the cushion body 203 and are configured to engage with each other via a quick-release device, e.g, a hook-loop fastener.

Referring now to FIGS. 4 and 5, respectively front and back views of a system 401 are shown in accordance with an alternative embodiment of the present invention. It will be appreciated that system 401 could include one or more the features of system 201. It should be appreciated that the system 401 optionally includes one or more tubes for channeling air to the nose of the user (not shown in the exemplary embodiment). In the contemplated embodiment, system 401 includes a cushion body 403 contoured to fit on the head of the user and having a thickness for carrying the various components of system 401 therein.

System 401 includes one or more fans 501a, 501b conductively coupled to a battery 511 with a port 513 and in gaseous communication with one or more tubes 517a, 517b configured to channel air to a plurality of ports such as ports 525a, 525b selectively positioned at various locations around the head of the user.

The system 401 is further provided with a pad 519 configured to receive air therethrough ports 523a, 523b for humidification and filtering via humidifier 521 and filters 509a, 509b. Optional straps 515 are adjustably secured to the body 403 and are configured to secure the body in a stationary position during use.

Although systems 201 and 401 are shown without additional headwear, e.g., baseball cap, it will be appreciated that the features discussed herein could be incorporated with headwear commonly known in the art.

The particular embodiments disclosed above are illustrative only, as the embodiments may be modified and practiced in different but equivalent manners apparent to those skilled in the art having the benefit of the teachings herein. It is therefore evident that the particular embodiments disclosed above may be altered or modified, and all such variations are considered within the scope and spirit of the application. Accordingly, the protection sought herein is as set forth in the description. Although the present embodiments are shown above, they are not limited to just these embodiments, but are amenable to various changes and modifications without departing from the spirit thereof.

Claims

1. A headgear cooling system, comprising:

a body configured to secure to a head of a user;
a fan secured to the body and in gaseous communication with a port;
a pad secured to the body;
a humidifier secured to the pad; and
a battery conductively coupled to the fan;
wherein the battery provide electrical current to the fan, which in turn pushes air through the port.
