Independent feeding tray

The present invention is known as an Independent Feeding Tray known as IFT. The IFT is a molded plastic food tray wherein portion of the tray will have a molded circular cup onto the tray for the securing the cup of packaged food cups that will be placed onto a food tray. IFT tray will have a plastic molded cup that will be molded onto the plane of the tray right bottom corner. The IFT tray will be offered with a molded cup onto the left bottom corner of the tray. The IFT tray will be one solid piece. The molded plastic cup to be placed on the right bottom corner of the tray for individuals with only the usage of right hand. A separate IFT tray with a molded cup onto the left bottom corner of the food tray for individuals with the usage of only a left hand. The IFT tray having a molded cup onto the tray will allow packaged food cups to be placed into the IFT molded cup for example Yogurt, Jello, Ice Cream, Applesauce, etc. The molded cup of the IFT will prevent the packaged food cup from moving up or down, right or left across the tray. The IFT will be made of plastic. The color of the food tray will be red. The molded cup on the IFT provides the independence by a stroke patient and or other neurological diseases with the usage of one hand to feed themselves. The IFT with a molded cup onto the tray will provide patients with the knowledge that they can feed themselves without relying on assistance from a nurses aide or family member. The IFT tray with a molded cup onto the food tray provides the continued usage and never having the concern of the cup being misplaced or lost during the daily cleaning by kitchen staff of a Nursing Home, Hospital or Rehab facility on a daily basis after a patient concludes their meal.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

The invention Independent Feeding Tray will be known as IFT is molded plastic tray with a molded circular cup molded onto the tray. The IFT will be made of plastic material resin for the tray and circular cup to be molded onto the tray. As it can be inferred from the drawings, essential a component the IFT is a washable food tray as one solid plastic molded piece. The IFT invention allows patients with one hand usage to feed themselves independently of the food cups served daily on a food tray.

Referring to the drawings and in particular to FIG. 1, the food tray invention IFT of the present invention contains a molded cup molded to the tray means FIG. 1 molded cup molded to tray. The molded cup means FIG. 1 for containing and holding the a food cup in the molded cup to the tray. The molded cup means FIG. 1 has a molded cup. DESCRIPTION Field of Invention

The present IFT invention relates to a plastic food tray with a plastic molded cup onto the tray and is constructed as a single solid unit. The tray has circular molded cup onto the IFT tray right lower plane corner and or left lower corner plane of the IFT tray. The cup to be molded onto the IFT tray on the right corner and or left corner which will allow an individual with the usage of one hand to feed themselves when a food cup is placed on the IFT tray. The IFT tray will allow simple nested stacking of multiple trays. The material of the tray will be plastic. The color of the tray will be red.

The IFT tray plastic tray will be durable and washed at high heat water temperature for cleaning everyday as the IFT will be a reusable tray.

The IFT tray will prevent the misplacement of the molded cup at a Nursing Homes, Hospitals or Rehab facilities when it is cleaned and washed daily by the kitchen staff at these facilities. The cup that is molded onto the tray as one solid piece.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The independent Feeding Tray (IFT) was invented for the purpose of providing a food tray with a molded cup onto the tray as one solid unit. The IFT will allow individuals that have suffered a stroke or a neurological disease to feed themselves when a food cup is placed on the IFT tray. The IFT tray will provide a patient that have only the usage of one hand can now independently feed themselves through the IFT tray when a food cup is placed on the meal tray. The IFT molded cup is not an insert. The IFT invention is a molded cup molded onto the right corner of the food tray for usage by individual with the usage only their right hand. The IFT tray molded cup on left corner of the food tray for a left hand usage. The IFT molded cup onto the tray will prevent the movement of the food cup on the IFT from moving up, down, right or left when a patient seeks remove the food via a spoon from a food cup when placed into the IFT molded cup. The FIGS. 1-6 show the food tray and molded cup that is molded onto the tray as one solid piece as an independent feeding tray for an individual with the usage of one hand.

The tray will be made of plastic, durable and washable at high heat water temperature. The IFT food tray color will be red. The IFT will tray will stackable as well reused daily at meal time.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The invention is a Independent Feeding Tray will be known as IFT. The IFT tray was invented for individuals with usage of one hand to feed themselves when a food cup is placed on the food tray.

The IFT is a common type food tray with a circular shape cup molded directly onto the plane of the food tray. FIG. 1 of the independent food tray diagram shows the food tray and molded cup on to the tray of the invention.

The IFT has a molded cup on the tray and is not an insert. The IFT tray invention has a molded cup molded onto the plane of the tray. The IFT with the molded cup will provide an individual with the usage of one hand to feed themselves to easily spoon the food from the cup when placed into the molded cup of the IFT. The molded cup molded onto the tray will prevent the packaged food cup when it is placed into the molded cup from moving up or down and or across the tray when a patient will spoon the food from the cup.

The U.S. Pat. No. D801,120 S is food tray with integral cup holder however the invention IFT tray has a molded cup onto the tray. The IFT invention is a molded circular cup molded directly onto the food tray for food cups to be placed directly into the molded cup. The IFT food tray will prevent any movement of a food cup.

The Single hand use food tray U.S. Pat. No. 5,598,944 is a bowl that is placed into the food tray. The invention IFT is food tray with a circular shaped cup and is molded onto the surface of food tray as one solid piece.

The IFT food tray will be plastic, durable and washable at high heat water temperature for daily cleaning on a daily basis and reused for patients with usage of one hand.

When the IFT is cleaned and washed by the kitchen staff of a Nursing Home, Hospital, Rehab Facility the IFT tray with the molded cup onto tray will prevent the cup from being misplaced or lost when returned after every meal. This is due to the fact the cup is molded onto the tray.

BRIEF SUMMARY AND OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION

The invention Independent Feeding Tray for individuals with usage of one hand to feed themselves when a packaged food cup such as yogurt, jello, ice cream that will be typically placed on tray at meal time.

The Independent Feeding Tray will be known as IFT.

The invention of the IFT is to provide a food tray with a molded shaped cup that is molded directly onto the surface of the food tray. The molded cup that is molded directly onto the tray is for food cups. An individual with the usage of one hand can spoon the food from the food cup that is securely placed into the molded cup on the tray. The molded cup onto the food tray will prevent the food cup from moving up or down or right or left across the food tray. The IFT placing of the molded cup onto the RIGHT corner of food tray for a patient or resident with only the usage of the right hand to feed themselves. The IFT with the placing of the molded cup onto LEFT corner of the food tray for only usage of the left handed patient or resident. The IFT tray will permit the patient or resident to feed themselves and will not rely on family member or nurses aid to assist them to scoop the food cup which is placed on the tray during meal times. IFT will be used by patients and or residents of nursing homes, hospitals, and or homebound individuals with one hand usage to feed themselves on a daily basis at meal time. The IFT invention will also serve children and military vets with use of one hand to feed themselves.

The IFT molded cup onto the tray is “not an insert” but rather molded cup molded onto the surface of the IFT tray and is one solid piece.

The color of the IFT tray will be red so as patients can easily identify food on the tray.

The IFT tray will be made of plastic and washable at high heat temperature water when cleaned daily.

The IFT with the cup molded to the tray will prevent the cup from being misplaced or being lost by the kitchen staff when the food tray is cleaned and washed after each daily meal. The molding of the cup onto will

Claims

1. Food Tray IFT has molded cup molded onto tray for food Comprising:

Food holding means holding food said food holding means including a molded cylindrical cup that is molded onto the flat plane of the tray. A food holding section having a specified food holding orientation.
Cylindrical cup molded onto tray means cup is molded onto the flat plane of the tray. The molded cup is closed with a bottom wall which is molded with said flat surface portion

2. The independent food tray defined in claim 1 further comprising one integrally solid piece
