Weaponized Drinking Vessel
A weaponized drinking vessel is an apparatus that contains a beverage and inflicts significant damage and pain against an attacker. The apparatus includes a holder body, a drinking vessel, a plurality of impact ridges, at least one light source, a microcontroller, and a power source. The holder body protects and further insulates the drinking vessel. The drinking vessel contains a beverage and insulates the beverage. The plurality of impact ridges increases the force and trauma of the apparatus against an attacker. The at least one light source illuminates the surrounding environment of the apparatus so that a user may accurately impact the plurality of impact ridges, as well as the holder body against an attacker. The microcontroller and the power source allow the at least one light source to operate. The apparatus further includes a lid that protects and contains the drinking vessel within the holder body.
The current application claims a priority to the U.S. Provisional Patent application Ser. No. 62/589,301 filed on Nov. 21, 2017.
FIELD OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention relates generally to drinking vessels. More specifically, the present invention is a weaponized drinking vessel.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONIn modern society, there is an increase in need for self-protection. There are many types and kinds of devices that allow a user to defend themselves, from fire arms to melee-based weapons. However, not every person can acquire a firearm; therefore, melee-based weapons are often the most common and most accessible self-defense devices readily available. Melee weapons can include any found object that can be held in a person's hand and be used to defend oneself by offensive means. However, found objects are not designed with the intention to be used as a self-defense device. For instance, found objects are not designed to be impact resistant to withstand impact between the human body and the found object. Of course, there are melee weapons with the intent to be highly impact resistant with use. However, these melee weapons, such as brass knuckles, can be illegal to have on oneself in some places. There really are not that many devices that can serve as both a found object and as a self-defense device. Particularly, there are no devices that can be utilized effectively as both a drinking vessel and a melee weapon.
An objective of the present invention is to provide users with a combination of a drinking vessel and a melee weapon. The present invention intends to provide users with a drinking vessel that closely resembles a drinking mug or thermos while having the features and means to be readily utilized as a melee weapon without the need to modify the present invention. The present invention intends to provide the user with the speedy efficiency to use the present invention as either a drinking vessel or a melee weapon. The present invention intends to be extremely impacted resistant when the present invention is utilized as a melee weapon. The present invention contains a light source to greatly enhance the present invention's function as a melee weapon.
All illustrations of the drawings are for the purpose of describing selected versions of the present invention and are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention.
The present invention is a weaponized drinking vessel that serves not only as a commonly used tool, but as a readily accessible weapon. The present invention may be used in combat environments as well as a variety of safe environments as needed. The present invention comprises an ergonomic structure that allows a user to securely and quickly grasp the present invention. In order for the present invention to contain a beverage and effectively disarm an attacker, the present invention comprises a holder body 1, a drinking vessel 7, a plurality of impact ridges 9, at least one light source 14, a microcontroller 16, and a power source 17, seen in
The overall configuration of the aforementioned components securely houses a beverage while being used as a weapon. The drinking vessel 7 engages into the vessel receptacle 2, containing a beverage within the drinking vessel 7, seen in
In order to accommodate additional attack forms, the plurality of impact ridges 9 further comprises at least one track of ridges 11, clearly seen in
The at least one track of ridges 11 are further stabilized along the vessel receptacle 2 as the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a bracket 18. The bracket 18 comprises a first arm 19, a second arm 20, and an elongated bar 21, seen in
The rim 3 of the vessel receptacle 2 and the rim 8 of the drinking vessel 7 are protected against impact as a preferred embodiment of the present invention further comprises a lid 22, seen in
The lid 22 may be utilized as solely another weapon while the beverage is securely housed within the drinking vessel 7 as an alternate embodiment of the present invention comprises a cap 26, shown in
It is understood in various embodiments of the present invention that a sealing layer and a plurality of fasteners ensure the housing of the beverage within the drinking vessel 7. The plurality of fasteners provides a secure and easy way to access and close the beverage within the present invention.
A user is able to efficiently operate and maneuver the vessel against an attacker, as the lens 15 of the at least one light source 14 is oriented towards the set of first ridges 10, shown in
Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
