1.0—System Overview

1.1—This invention will provide an outdoor storage device for storing the average delivery you would receive from an online shopping service.

1.2—The Amazon Size Lock Box(Aka: ASLB) will differ from other lock boxes because it is engineered with statistical data in mind.

2.0—Improvement

2.1—Traditionally the online shopping service delivered product was 1.5 Linear Feet (l.f.) by 1 l.f by 0.75 l.f. in dimensions. Now with the availability of a full compliment of groceries added to inventory for shipping the average size package ahs increased 25 to 50 percent making what is targeted to the consumer market too small.

2.2—The ASLB device will also have a Standard Pad Lock Latch setup for securing the lock box or a Deluxe 4 Digit Lock System securing the contents of the lock box. The advantage of that method of securing the lock box is to allow an online shopper who owns the device to issue a access code with their order delivery notes so a driver would be able to locate the delivery inside the lock box.

2.3—The ASLB device will be weather proof with sealed seams and lid with hinges and hemmed edges and a slight tilt from back to front to drain off any moisture. The lid will be hinged with tamper proof hinges on the inside of the back edge and a steel latch fitted for a 4 Digit pad lock.

2.4—The bottom of the lock box will have a standing edge with bolt holes every 5 inches to allow attaching a steel base plate which is intended to be fastened to a structure.

2.5—The ASLB device shall come with a steel base which is matched with bolt holes so once the base plate is fastened to the structure of a buyers choice, the lock box will fit over the base plate and the buyer will need to thread the provided bolts into the base to hold the whole unit in place securely.

3.0—Advantage

3.1—With this new invention, you decide who has access to the contents by issuing the access code to delivery drivers or someone who may need to retrieve the contents for you.

3.2—Top hinged cover has an advantage over many other outdoor side access lock boxes because if you have weather in the form of snow or even accumulated rain measurable with a tape measure side access boxes will not be able to open up without clearing first and delivery people probably will choose to leave the package leaning on the outside instead. Heavy rain that could result in a puddle will leak into the side seams of a side opening lock box also.

3.3—Size is the best feature of this device because it will accommodate the majority of online shoppers orders. Buyers may have limited space for a ASLB so there will be 2 sizes to choose from Medium and Large.

4.1—The name AMAZON SIZE LOCK BOX has nothing to do with the inventor, manufacturer, seller or owner of the invention.

4.2—The name AMAZON SIZE LOCK BOX is a reference to its size only.

4.3—Another difference from the other Outdoor Lock Boxes is there seem to be none available with a 4 Digit Pad Lock Security accessory, and latch secure enough to protect the lock.

5.1—Preventing your online purchases turn up missing after you get home and track that they were delivered and are no where to be found.

5.2—The items you ordered being stolen can delay very important items that could be business related, critical to your health, or important time wise to a family member.

5.3—Time required to report missing deliveries, stolen good, refunds and reordering products that become missing can be costly too.

Claims

1) This invention provides an improvement to a product that has been available for years. The improvement is the ability of The Amazon Lock Box(aka: ALB) to accommodate deliveries of the average size since the evolution of online shopping offering full service grocery shopping as opposed to recent years where only limited grocery items were available online. More variety equates to more volume, which requires larger storage capacity.

2) The ALB shall be made of galvanized steel and made to resist weather and be sturdy structurally.

3) The ALB shall have a Pad Lock Latch or Key Pad Security system on a hinged door with over lapping sides to protect from weather also.

4) The ALB shall have a 2 piece base which can be fastened to a structure and then bolted to the bottom of the Lock Box.
