Description
TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention generally relates to hair design. More particularly, the invention relates hair extensions.

BACKGROUND ART

Long and thick hair is seen by many attractive. There are common techniques to extend or add hair including using clips, gluing, bonding, fusion sewing, hair transplanting, hair weaving, and surgical implantations of hair pieces. A common technique for attaching hair extensions involves tracking which includes braiding the natural hair. The extensions may include a number of tracks depending on the desired look are sewn to the braids. However, the existing methods are expensive, time consuming and complex in a way that needs to be done by an expert hair stylist or even by a surgeon. In addition, in many cases there is damage to the natural hair when removing the hair extensions.

DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION

According to an aspect of the invention a hair design apparatus includes hair, a first piece of magnetic material attached to the hair, and a second piece of magnetic material. The first piece cooperates together with the second piece to generate magnetic attraction thus, attaching the pieces with at least a part of a user's natural hair being located between the pieces. The hair may be either natural or synthetic. The terms “piece” and “plate” may be used interchangeably hereinafter. The two pieces can be magnets. In some example one of the pieces or the two pieces are made of a magnetic tape. The pieces can be protected with anti corrosion material. In some cases the pieces may be coated hydrophobic material which may be a nanomaterial. The pieces may be coated with silicon or PVC.

Illustrative embodiments of the invention are described below. In the interest of clarity, not all features of an actual implementation are described in this specification. It will of course be appreciated that in the development of any such actual embodiment, numerous implementation-specific decisions must be made to achieve the developers' specific goals, such as compliance with technology- or business-related constraints, which may vary from one implementation to another. Moreover, it will be appreciated that the effort of such a development might be complex and time-consuming, but would nevertheless be a routine undertaking for those of ordinary skill in the art having the benefit of this disclosure.

Attaching of the hair to the magnetic piece may be done in one or more locations, depending for example in the width of the track. In accordance with some embodiments of the present invention the attaching the hair to the magnetic piece can be done by gluing or sewing. Tracks may have various widths and lengths, for example between 5 mm to 300 mm, also the lengths and colors may vary. There are tracks in different styles such as straight, wavy and curly. All forms of tracks are applicable in various embodiments of the invention.

Schematic illustration of a back view of hair extension 100 according to some embodiments of the invention which includes a number of tracks is shown in FIG. 1. In FIG. 2 there is a schematic illustration of a front view of hair extension 100 with magnetic plate 101 attached to a top part of hair extension 100. An illustration of a back view of track 102 is shown in FIG. 3. The illustration of track 102 from the back with magnetic plate 101 attached to a top part is shown in FIG. 4.

Magnetic pieces 101 can be made of different metals which may different magnetic properties. Neodymium magnets can be in use such as N35 or N52. An advantageous feature according to some embodiments of the invention is that the user's natural hair is being held firmly between two magnetic plates. This enables the user to enjoy recreational activities and sports including swimming without removing the hair extensions.

Magnetic plates 101 may be shaped in many sizes. This may be desirable to fit different sizes of tracks or hair extensions. In some cases oblong plate 101 as illustrated in FIGS. 5A and 5B may have a length ranging between 5 mm to 100 mm. In some examples such plates may have a width between 2 mm to 10 mm, and a thickness between 2 mm to 10 mm. Round plates 101 as illustrated in FIG. 6 may have diameters ranging between 5 mm to 30 mm.

According to another aspect of the invention a method of hair extension includes placing a first piece of magnetic material attached to hair next to at least a part of a user's natural hair; and placing a second piece of magnetic material next to the other side of the mentioned part of user's hair. The two pieces generate magnetic attraction between them thus attaching both pieces to the aforementioned part of the user's hair located between them. According to some beneficial embodiments of the invention a user can easily perform hair extension by himself. One example is illustrated in FIGS. 8A to 8G. In FIG. 8A there is an illustration of a back view of natural hair of a user 104 before hair extending; FIG. 8B shows user's hair 104 tied up on top of the head and some of the hair left down in a straight line; FIG. 8C depicts placing of magnetic 101 plate behind the user's natural hair 101; FIG. 8D depicts attaching track 102 to user's natural hair 104 by magnetic force acting between magnetic plate 101 attached to track 102 and another (second) magnetic plate 101; FIG. 8E depicts attaching number of tracks 102 to user's hair 104 at the same manner; FIG. 8F is a side view of attaching track 102 to user's natural hair 104; FIG. 8G shows a hairstyle after attaching a hair extension 100 which includes number of tracks 102.

It will be appreciated by persons skilled in the art that the present invention is not limited by what has been particularly shown and described herein above. Rather the scope of the invention is defined by the claims which follow:
