BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION (1) Field of the Invention (2) Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed Under 37 CFR 1.97 and 1.98The disclosure and prior art relates to earring devices and more particularly pertains to a new earring device facilitating interchangeable ornaments on earrings.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONAn embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a pair of suspensions. Each of the suspensions is removably attached to an associated one of a pair of ears. A plurality of adornments is provided and a selected pair of the adornments is suspended on an associated one of the suspensions. In this way each of the adornments selectively enhances an ornamental appearance of the ears.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
Each of the suspensions 12 includes a pair of discs 26 and each of the discs 26 has a peripheral edge 27. The peripheral edge 27 corresponding to each of the discs 26 is attached to the second end 20 of the first rod 16 and each of the discs 26 extends upwardly from the first rod 16. The discs 26 are spaced apart from each other. Each of the suspensions 12 includes a pair of fingers 28 and each of the fingers 28 is attached to the first end 18 of the first rod 16. Moreover, the fingers 28 are spaced apart from each other.
Each of the suspensions 12 includes a second rod 30 that has a first end 32 and a second end 34. The first end 32 is positioned between each of the discs 26. A pin 36 extends through each of the discs 26 and engages the second rod 30 such that the second rod 30 is pivotally coupled to the first rod 16. The second rod 30 is selectively positioned in a first position having the first end 32 of the second rod 30 being spaced from the first end 18 of the first rod 16. The second rod 30 is extended through a piercing in an ear lobe when the second rod 30 is in the first position.
The second rod 30 is selectively positioned in a second position. The second rod 30 is positioned between each of the fingers 28 on the first rod 16 when the second rod 30 is in the second position. In this way the second rod 30 suspends the first rod 16 from the earlobe. Each of the fingers 28 frictionally engages the second rod 30 to releasably retain the second rod 30 in the second position. In an alternative embodiment 36 as shown in
A plurality of adornments 38 is provided and a selected pair of the adornments 38 is suspended on an associated one of the suspensions 12. In this way each of the adornments 38 to enhances an ornamental appearance of the ears 14 in the convention of earring 48s. Additionally, each of the pairs of adornments 38 may have a unique appearance with respect to each other. Each of the adornments 38 comprises an ornament 40 that has an outer surface 42. The outer surface 42 may be continuous such that the ornament 40 forms a sphere. Additionally, the outer surface 42 may have a plurality of intersecting sides such that the ornament 40 forms a jewel. Each of the adornments 38 may include a plurality of ornaments 40 or a single ornament 40.
A stem 44 is extend through the ornament such that the stem is coupled to the ornament. The stem 44 has a distal end 46 with respect to the outer surface 42. A ring 48 is coupled to the distal end 46 of the stem 44. The second rod 30 is extended through the ring 48 and the ring 48 is positioned around the first rod 16 such that the ornament 40 is suspended from the first rod 16 of the associated suspension. Additionally, the ring 48 may engage the bottommost bend 24 on the first rod 16 of the associated suspension such that the ornament 40 is inhibited from sliding on the first rod 16.
In use, second rod 30 on each of the suspensions 12 is positioned in first position. The ring 48 on a selected pair of the adornments 38 is slid onto and downwardly on the first rod 16 of one of the suspensions 12. The second rod 30 is extended through the piercing in one of the ears 14 and the second rod 30 is positioned in the second position. In this way the suspension and the associated adornment 38 are suspended from the ear. The selected pair of adornments 38 may be changed at any time to facilitate coordination with wardrobe or the like.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
