Ring Holder

Abstract

The current invention are ring holding devices such as pendants that securely hold and display rings. The base of the pendant is metal forming the outline of the desired shape (such as a heart). There is a latch that opens to allow the metal outline to be placed through the ring. The latch is closed, securing the ring in place, hanging from the body. The device may have bails to secure the pendant to a chain, to allow the pendant to be worn on a necklace, bracelet, or other accessories.

BACKGROUND

1. Field of the Invention

This invention relates generally to ring holders and, in particular, to ring holders design in combination with a necklace that can be wearable accessories.

2. Description of Prior Art

Many people wear rings that have sentimental and/or monetary value. Throughout the day, there are many reasons a ring may be taken off, such as for work, to wash hands, or for security purposes. When the ring is removed, the owner must find a place to store it and runs a risk of forgetting it. Simple do-it-yourself solutions include placing it in a pocket, having a dedicated storage spot, or stringing the ring through a necklace or bracelet.

There is still room for improvement in the art.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is an object of the current invention is a ring holder that allows a user to quickly and safely store a ring for any period of time. There can be different colors and shapes based on user preference.

Briefly described according to a preferred embodiment, the ring holder may be made of metal or other strong material, and may consist of bails connected to the base and an opening latch for accessing a perimeter member that circumscribingly forms a retention orifice. The bails may be connected at the top or back of the ring holder. A chain or string may be threaded through the bails and may allow the pendant to be worn as a necklace or bracelet, or attached to other accessories such as a keychain.

The base may be of a design that is made by a metal outline, with a hollow inside. The designs can be simple or complex, so long as a ring can be held.

The opening latch may be built into the body outline. When the latch is open, the body outline may be put through a ring, like putting thread through the eye of a needle. With the ring on the body, the latch may be closed, with the process being reversed to retrieve the ring.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

The current invention are ring holders 1 that allow a user to quickly and safely store a ring 20 for any periods of time. The ring holders 1 can be different colors and shapes for user preference.

As shown in FIGS. 1 through 3, the ring holder 1 would be a fashion accessary like a pendant that would be made of metal or other strong material, and consist of the body 10, bails 30 and an opening latch 15. The bails 30 can be at the top of the pendant as shown in the Figures or on the back of the ring holder 1. A chain 40 or string is threaded through the bails 30 to allow the ring holder 1 to be worn as a necklace or bracelet, or attached to other accessories such as a keychain.

The body 20 is a design is made by a metal outline, with a loop forming a hollow inside. The designs can be simple or complex, so long as a ring 20 can be held and can be any shape can be used to meet user preferences for a variety of events.

The opening latch 15 is built into the frame of the base 10. When the latch 15 is open, the ring 20 can be place on the ring holder 1 with the ring holder 1 going through the center of the ring 20 like putting thread through the eye of a needle. With the ring 20 on the body of the base, the latch 15 is closed. The process is reversed to retrieve the ring.

The latch 15 is connected to the base 10 with a tension hinge 12. The tension 12 will hold the latch 15 in place when it is closed against the base 10. The top of the latch 15 will have a flush connection to the end of the base 10.

The bails 30 can attach to a pin or pin or stick pin and cluck mechanism so that the ring holder 1 can be worn as a pin on a piece of clothing.

ADVANTAGES

The innovative ring holders allow a user to keep precious rings safe without losing aesthetic appeal. While many people wear rings on a chain, the current invention allows a user to quickly change from wearing the ring on a finger to wearing the ring as part of the device with the opening latch, the user doesn't have to remove the necklace. This saves time, decreases chance of losing a ring, and has a more professional look compared to a ring on a chain.

More than one ring 20 can be placed on the ring holder 1.

As to a further discussion of the manner of usage and operation of the present invention, the same should be apparent from the above description. Accordingly, no further discussion relating to the manner of usage and operation will be provided. With respect to the above description, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.

Claims

1. A ring holder comprising:

a generally annular base having an outer perimeter member circumscribing a formed inner orifice;

a latch connected to the annular base and forming an access to said inner orifice, said latch connected to the outer perimeter member by a hinge;

wherein the latch is adapted to move between an opened condition for disconnecting the outer perimeter member and a closed condition for connecting the outer peremeter member, said opened condition allowing for placing at least one ring on the base for support onto or removal from the perimeter member and wherein the said closed conditions secures the at least one ring onto the perimeter m.

2. The ring holder according to claim 1 wherein the base further comprises bails attached to said outer perimeter member.

3. The ring holder according to claim 2 wherein the base has a top angularly positioned relative to said latch and the bails are attached to the outer perimeter member at the top of the base.

4. The ring holder according to claim 3 wherein the base has a back and the bails are attached to the outer perimeter member at the back of the base.

5. The ring holder according to claim 1 wherein the hinge is a tension hinge.

6. The ring holder according to claim 1 wherein the ring holder is a fashion accessory.

7. The ring holder according to claim 6 wherein the fashion accessory is a pendant.

8. The ring holder according to claim 1 wherein the base has a back and a pin mechanism is attached to the base at the back of the base.

9. The ring holder according to claim 2 further comprising a chain, wherein the base is connected to the chain.

10. The ring holder according to claim 9 wherein a chain runs through the bails.

11. The ring holder according to claim 10 wherein the base is connected to chain via interaction with the bails such as to form a necklace.

12. A ring holding jewelry item comprising:

a pendant further comprising: an arcuate shaped band element having a first terminus and a second terminus, a circumferential length of the band element extending between said first terminus to said second terminus and circumscribing a majority of an area forming an inner receiving orifice; a positionable access latch, said latch connection at a first end at said first terminus in a rotatable manner such as to allow for alignment of a second end with the second terminus; and a locking element for selectively connecting said second end with said second terminus in a manner that allows the hand element and access latch combination to completely enclose the area forming an inner receiving orifice;

one or more bale connected to or formed by said arcuate shaped band element;

a supporting connection for running through and securing said one or more bales to a user; and

a ring for being loosely secured to and removably supported by the arcuate shaped band element.

13. The ring holding jewelry item of claim 12, wherein said arcuate shaped band element is further formed substantially into a heart shape.

14. The ring holding jewelry item of claim 12, wherein said supporting connection is selected from a group comprising: a necklace; a bracelet; a pin; a stick pin.

15. The ring holding jewelry item of claim 13, wherein said supporting connection is selected from a group comprising: a necklace; a bracelet; a pin; and a stick pin.

16. The ring holding jewelry item of claim 12, wherein said latch connection at a first end at said first terminus further comprises a hinge.

17. The ring holding jewelry item of claim 12, wherein said latch connection at a first end at said hinge is a spring urged tension hinge
