Headboard Storage Assembly
A headboard storage assembly includes a headboard that may be mounted on a support surface thereby facilitating the headboard to be aligned with a bed. A pair of first pockets is provided and each of the first pockets is coupled the headboard for storing objects. A pair of second pockets is each coupled the headboard for storing objects. A first door is hingedly coupled to the headboard and a first display is coupled to the first door to insertably receive an electronic device. Thus, the first display facilitates hands-free use of the electronic device for a user lying on the bed. A second door is hingedly coupled to the headboard and a second display is coupled to the second door. The second display insertably receives an electronic device thereby facilitating hands-free use of the electronic device for the user lying on the bed.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION (1) Field of the Invention (2) Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed Under 37 CFR 1.97 and 1.98The disclosure and prior art relates to storage devices and more particularly pertains to a new storage device for facilitating hands-free use of an electronic device on a bed.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONAn embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a headboard that may be mounted on a support surface thereby facilitating the headboard to be aligned with a bed. A pair of first pockets is provided and each of the first pockets is coupled the headboard for storing objects. A pair of second pockets is each coupled the headboard for storing objects. A first door is hingedly coupled to the headboard and a first display is coupled to the first door to insertably receive an electronic device. Thus, the first display facilitates hands-free use of the electronic device for a user lying on the bed. A second door is hingedly coupled to the headboard and a second display is coupled to the second door. The second display insertably receives an electronic device thereby facilitating hands-free use of the electronic device for the user lying on the bed.

A pair of first pockets 28 is each coupled the headboard 12 for storing objects. Each of the first pockets 28 is positioned on the second surface 20 of the headboard 12 and each of the first pockets 28 has a top end 30. The top end 30 corresponding to each of the first pockets 28 is open to access an interior of the corresponding first pocket 28. A pair of second pockets 32 is each coupled the headboard 12 for storing objects. Each of the second pockets 32 is positioned on the second surface 20 of the headboard 12 and each of the second pockets 32 has a top end 34. The top end 34 corresponding to each of the second pockets 32 is open to access an interior of the corresponding second pocket 32.
A plurality of first mating members 36 is provided and each of the first mating members 36 is coupled to the second surface 20 of the headboard 12. A first door 38 is hingedly coupled to the headboard 12. The first door 38 is selectively positioned in a stored position having the first door 38 lying on the headboard 12. Additionally, the first door 38 is selectively positioned in a deployed position having the first door 38 being positioned at an angle with the headboard 12.
The first door 38 has a first edge 40, a first surface 42 and a second surface 44. The first edge 40 is hingedly coupled to the first lateral side 24 of the headboard 12. Moreover, the first surface 42 of the first door 38 abuts the second surface 20 of the headboard 12 when the first door 38 is in the stored position. A first cushion 46 is coupled to the second surface 20 of the first door 38 and the first cushion 46 completely covers the second surface 20 of the first door 38.
A first display 48 is coupled to the first door 38 and the first display 48 insertably receives an electronic device 49, such as a smart phone, an ipad and other electronic device 49 that has an electronic display. The first display 48 facilitates hands-free use of the electronic device 49 for a user lying on the bed 16. The first display 48 is positioned on the first surface 18 of the first door 38 and the first display 48 is comprised of a translucent material. The first display 48 may comprise a plexiglass box or the like and the first display 48 may have a slot therein for receiving the electronic device 49.
A third pocket 50 is coupled to the first surface 42 of the first door 38 for storing headphones and other objects. A second mating member 52 is coupled to the first surface 18 of the first door 38. The second mating member 52 releasably engages an associated one of the first mating members 36 when the first door 38 is positioned in the stored position to retain the first door 38 and the stored position. Each of the first mating members 36 and the second mating member 52 may be a hook and loop fastener or the like.
A second door 54 is hingedly coupled to the headboard 12. The second door 54 is selectively positioned in a stored position having the second door 54 lying on the headboard 12. The second door 54 is selectively positioned in a deployed position having the second door 54 being positioned at an angle with the headboard 12. The second door 54 has a first edge 56, a first surface 58 and a second surface 60 and the first edge 56 of the second door 54 is hingedly coupled to the second lateral side 26 of the headboard 12. The first surface 58 of the second door 54 abuts the second surface 20 of the headboard 12 when the second door 54 is in the stored position. A second cushion 62 is coupled to the second surface 60 of the second door 54 and the second cushion 62 completely covers the second surface of the second door 54.
A second display 64 is coupled to the second door 54 and the second display 64 insertably receives an electronic device 49 thereby facilitating hands-free use of the electronic device 49. The second display 64 is positioned on the first surface 58 of the second door 54 and the second display 64 is comprised of a translucent material. The second display 64 may comprise a plexiglass box or the like and the second display 64 may have a slot therein for receiving the electronic device 49.
A fourth pocket 66 is coupled to the first surface 18 of the second door 54 for storing headphones and other objects. A third mating member 68 is coupled to the first surface 18 of the second door 54 and the third mating member 68 releasably engages an associated one of the first mating members 36 when the second door 54 is positioned in the stored position to retain the second door 54 in the stored position. The third mating member 68 may comprise a hook and loop fastener or the like.
A first input 70 is coupled to the headboard 12 the electronic device 49 is selectively electrically coupled to the first input 70. The first input 70 is positioned on the first lateral side 24 of the headboard 12 and the first input 70 comprises a plurality of usb ports or the like. A second input 72 is coupled to the headboard 12 and the electronic device 49 is selectively electrically coupled to the second input 72. The second input 72 is positioned on the second lateral side 26 of the headboard 12 and the second input 72 comprising a plurality of usb ports or the like.
A pair of speakers 74 is provided and each of the speakers 74 is coupled to the headboard 12 for emitting audible sounds. Each of the speakers 74 is electrically coupled to the first input 70 and the second input 72 to receive an audio signal from the electronic device 49. Each of the speakers 74 is embedded in the second surface 20 of the headboard 12 and each of the speakers 74 may be Bluetooth speakers 74 or the like for wireless communication with the electronic device 49.
A power supply 76 is coupled to the headboard 12 and the power supply 76 is electrically coupled each of the first input 70 and the second input 72 to charge the electronic device 49. The power supply 76 comprises a power cord 78 extending outwardly from the headboard 12 and the power cord 78 has a distal end 80 with respect to the headboard 12. A plug 82 is electrically coupled to the distal end 80 and the plug 82 is electrically coupled to a power source 84, such as a female electrical outlet or the like.
In use, the headboard 12 is mounted on the wall and the bed 16 is aligned with the headboard 12. The first door 38 is selectively opened to expose the first display 48 and the second door 54 is selectively opened to expose the second display 64. The electronic device 49 is positioned in a selected one of the first 48 and second 64 displays for hands-free use of the electronic device 49. In this way the user may lay in bed 16 while watching a movie or the like on the electronic device 49. The electronic device 49 is selectively plugged into the first 70 or second 72 input to charge the electronic device 49 and to send audio from the electronic device 49 through the speakers 74.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. Claims
1. A headboard storage assembly being configured to be mounted above a bed for viewing electronic devices, said assembly comprising:
- a headboard being configured to be mounted on a support surface thereby facilitating said headboard to be aligned with a bed;
- a pair of first pockets, each of said first pockets being coupled said headboard wherein each of said first pockets is configured to store objects;
- a pair of second pockets, each of said second pockets being coupled said headboard wherein each of said second pockets is configured to store objects;
- a first door being hingedly coupled to said headboard;
- a first display being coupled to said first door wherein said first display is configured to insertably receive an electronic device thereby facilitating hands-free use of the electronic device for a user lying on the bed;
- a second door being hingedly coupled to said headboard;
- a second display being coupled to said second door wherein said second display is configured to insertably receive the electronic device thereby facilitating hands-free use of the electronic device for the user lying on the bed;
- a first input being coupled to said headboard wherein said first input is configured to be electrically coupled to the electronic device; and
- a second input being coupled to said headboard wherein said second input is configured to be electrically coupled to the electronic device.
2. The assembly according to claim 1, wherein said headboard has a first surface, a second surface and a peripheral edge extending therebetween, said peripheral edge having a first lateral side and a second lateral side, said first surface being configured to be attached to the support surface.
3. The assembly according to claim 2, wherein each of said first pockets is positioned on said second surface of said headboard, each of said first pockets having a top end, said top end corresponding to each of said first pockets being open to access an interior of said corresponding first pocket.
4. The assembly according to claim 2, wherein each of said second pockets is positioned on said second surface of said headboard, each of said second pockets having a top end, said top end corresponding to each of said second pockets being open to access an interior of said corresponding second pocket.
5. The assembly according to claim 2, further comprising a plurality of first mating members, each of said first mating members being coupled to said second surface of said headboard.
6. The assembly according to claim 2, wherein said first door is selectively positioned in a stored position having said first door lying on said headboard, said first door being selectively positioned in a deployed position having said first door being positioned at an angle with said headboard said first door has a first edge and a first surface, said first edge being hingedly coupled to said first lateral side of said headboard, said first surface of said first door abutting said second surface of said headboard when said first door is in said stored position.
7. The assembly according to claim 6, further comprising a second mating member being coupled to a first surface of said first door, said second mating member releasably engaging an associated one of said first mating members when said first door is positioned in said stored position to retain said first door and said stored position.
8. The assembly according to claim 2, wherein said second door is selectively positioned in a stored position having said second door lying on said headboard, said second door being selectively positioned in a deployed position having said second door being positioned at an angle with said headboard, said second door having a first edge and a first surface, said first edge of said second door being hingedly coupled to said second lateral side of said headboard, said first surface of said second door abutting said second surface of said headboard when said second door is in said stored position.
9. The assembly according to claim 8, further comprising a third mating member being coupled to said first surface of said second door, said third mating member releasably engaging an associated one of said first mating members when said second door is positioned in said stored position to retain said second door in said stored position.
10. The assembly according to claim 2, further comprising a pair of speakers, each of said speakers being coupled to said headboard wherein each of said speakers is configured to emit audible sounds, each of said speakers being electrically coupled to said first input and said second input wherein each of said speakers is configured to receive an audio signal from the electronic device, each of said speakers being embedded in said second surface of said headboard.
11. The assembly according to claim 10, further comprising a power supply being coupled to said headboard, said power supply being electrically coupled each of said first input and said second input wherein said power supply is configured to charge the electronic device.
12. The assembly according to claim 11, wherein said power supply comprises a power cord extending outwardly from said headboard, said power cord having a distal end with respect to said headboard, said distal end having a plug being electrically coupled thereto wherein said plug is configured to be electrically coupled to a power source.
13. A headboard storage assembly being configured to be mounted above a bed for viewing electronic devices, said assembly comprising:
- a headboard being configured to be mounted on a support surface thereby facilitating said headboard to be aligned with a bed, said headboard having a first surface, a second surface and a peripheral edge extending therebetween, said peripheral edge having a first lateral side and a second lateral side, said first surface being configured to be attached to the support surface;
- a pair of first pockets, each of said first pockets being coupled said headboard wherein each of said first pockets is configured to store objects, each of said first pockets being positioned on said second surface of said headboard, each of said first pockets having a top end, said top end corresponding to each of said first pockets being open to access an interior of said corresponding first pocket;
- a pair of second pockets, each of said second pockets being coupled said headboard wherein each of said second pockets is configured to store objects, each of said second pockets being positioned on said second surface of said headboard, each of said second pockets having a top end, said top end corresponding to each of said second pockets being open to access an interior of said corresponding second pocket;
- a plurality of first mating members, each of said first mating members being coupled to said second surface of said headboard;
- a first door being hingedly coupled to said headboard, said first door being selectively positioned in a stored position having said first door lying on said headboard, said first door being selectively positioned in a deployed position having said first door being positioned at an angle with said headboard, said first door having a first edge and a first surface, said first edge being hingedly coupled to said first lateral side of said headboard, said first surface of said first door abutting said second surface of said headboard when said first door is in said stored position;
- a first display being coupled to said first door wherein said first display is configured to insertably receive an electronic device thereby facilitating hands-free use of the electronic device, said first display being positioned on said first surface of said first door, said first display being comprised of a translucent material;
- a third pocket being coupled to said first surface of said first door wherein said third pocket is configured to store headphones;
- a second mating member being coupled to said first surface of said first door, said second mating member releasably engaging an associated one of said first mating members when said first door is positioned in said stored position to retain said first door and said stored position;
- a second door being hingedly coupled to said headboard, said second door being selectively positioned in a stored position having said second door lying on said headboard, said second door being selectively positioned in a deployed position having said second door being positioned at an angle with said headboard, said second door having a first edge and a first surface, said first edge of said second door being hingedly coupled to said second lateral side of said headboard, said first surface of said second door abutting said second surface of said headboard when said second door is in said stored position;
- a second display being coupled to said second door wherein said second display is configured to insertably receive the electronic device thereby facilitating hands-free use of the electronic device, said second display being positioned on said first surface of said second door, said second display being comprised of a translucent material;
- a fourth pocket being coupled to said first surface of said second door wherein said fourth pocket is configured to store the headphones;
- a third mating member being coupled to said first surface of said second door, said third mating member releasably engaging an associated one of said first mating members when said second door is positioned in said stored position to retain said second door in said stored position;
- a first input being coupled to said headboard wherein said first input is configured to be electrically coupled to the electronic device, said first input being positioned on said first lateral side of said headboard, said first input comprising a plurality of ports;
- a second input being coupled to said headboard wherein said second input is configured to be electrically coupled to the electronic device, said second input being positioned on said second lateral side of said headboard, said second input comprising a plurality of ports;
- a pair of speakers, each of said speakers being coupled to said headboard wherein each of said speakers is configured to emit audible sounds, each of said speakers being electrically coupled to said first input and said second input wherein each of said speakers is configured to receive an audio signal from the electronic device, each of said speakers being embedded in said second surface of said headboard; and
- a power supply being coupled to said headboard, said power supply being electrically coupled each of said first input and said second input wherein said power supply is configured to charge the electronic device, said power supply comprising a power cord extending outwardly from said headboard, said power cord having a distal end with respect to said headboard, said distal end having a plug being electrically coupled thereto wherein said plug is configured to be electrically coupled to a power source.
