BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION (1) Field of the Invention (2) Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed Under 37 CFR 1.97 and 1.98.The disclosure and prior art relates to pocket square holding devices and more particularly pertains to a new pocket square holding device for holding a handkerchief.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONAn embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a panel that has a first side, a second side, an upper edge, a lower edge, a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge. The panel has a fold line therein that extends from the upper edge to the lower edge and is positioned between the first and second lateral edges. The panel includes a first rigid section that is positioned between the fold line and the first lateral edge and a second rigid section that is positioned between the fold line and the second lateral edge. A securing member is attached to the first side of the panel and is configured to releasably secure a handkerchief to the first side. A closure is attached to the panel and releasably secures the panel in a closed condition that has the first and second lateral edges positioned adjacent to each other and encloses the first side of the panel.
A handkerchief and a panel are included. The panel has a first side, a second side, an upper edge, a lower edge, a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge. The panel has a fold line therein that extends from the upper edge to the lower edge and is positioned between the first and second lateral edges. The panel includes a first rigid section that is positioned between the fold line and the first lateral edge and a second rigid section that is positioned between the fold line and the second lateral edge. A securing member is attached to the first side of said panel and releasably secures said handkerchief to said first side. A closure is attached to the panel and releasably secures the panel in a closed condition that has the first and second lateral edges positioned adjacent to each other and encloses the first side of the panel. The handkerchief extends upwardly away from the upper edge.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
A pair of rigid plates 32 is positioned within the panel 12 between the first and second sides 14, 16 to form the first and second rigid sections 28, 30. Each of the plates 32 is positioned adjacent to the fold line 26. Each of the plates 32 extends at least 90% of a distance between the upper and lower edges 20, 22 and at least 70% from the fold line 26 to an adjacent one of the first and second lateral edges 22, 24.
A securing member 34 is attached to the first side 14 of the panel 12 and releasably secures a handkerchief 36 to the first side 14. The securing member 34 is positioned on a first portion 38 of the panel 12 defined between the fold line 26 and the first lateral edge 22. A second portion 40 of the panel 12 between the fold line 26 and the second lateral edge 24 is positionable over the securing member 34. The securing member 34 includes at least one strap 42 that is attached to the first side 14. The strap has a pair of ends 44, 46 attached to the first side 14 and the strap 42 is elongated along a line orientated parallel to the upper edge 18. The strap 42 is spaced from the upper and lower edges 18, 20. The strap 42 is comprised of a resiliently elastic material.
A closure 48 is attached to the panel 12 and releasably secures the panel 12 in a closed condition that has the first and second lateral edges 22, 24 positioned adjacent to each other and encloses the first side 14 of the panel 12. The closure 48 includes a first mating member 50 and a second mating member 52 that is releasably coupleable to each other. The first mating member 50 is positioned adjacent to the first lateral edge 22 and the second mating member 52 is positioned adjacent to the second lateral edge 24. The first and second mating members 50, 52 each is attached to the first side 14 of the panel 12. The first and second mating members 50, 52 comprises a hook and loop fastener.
In use, the handkerchief 36 is positioned in the panel 12 and secured by the securing member 34 such that the handkerchief 36 extends upwardly away from the upper edge 18. The panel 12 is folded along the fold line 26 and the closure 48 secures the panel 2 in the closed condition. The panel 12 is then positionable in a pocket 54 of a suit 56 such that the handkerchief 36 extends outwardly of the pocket 54 and is secured by the securing member 34.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
