Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates generally to spoons, dispensing and stirring devices. More specifically, the present invention is a spoon that can hold, dispense and stir various substances, allowing any liquid, gel, lotion, powder, medication, food, sugar, seasoning, condiment or beverage to be easily administered and even dissolvable. The device can be made of any substance, even edible and/or recyclable materials.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is an upper perspective view of the invention held vertically.

FIG. 2 is a cross sectional view perspective view showing the T-shaped piece of string affixed to the cellophane membrane.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

All illustrations of the drawings are for the purpose of describing selected versions of the present invention and are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention.

The present invention is a spoon with a hollow tube 5 as the handle, closed at the top 6. Inside the tube 5 are any number of segments divided by a cellophane-type protective membrane, that can be made of any material 3 which prevents the coffee, liquid, gel, medication, beverage, food or any substance from falling out. The membrane holding the substance in place 3 is glued with a non-toxic, food-safe substance, to the wall of the tube 5. A T-shaped piece of string, or tab made of plastic or other material, is affixed to the membrane 3 where the membrane is connected to the tube, but only goes about 150 degrees on either side of the tube 5, leaving a short section of membrane 3 with no connecting string or tab. The string or tab 1 comprising the center of the “T” is unglued and protrudes from a small hole 2 in the side of the tube 5.

To dispense the substance, the protruding string or tab 1 is pulled out of the hole 2, which starts a tear in the protective membrane 3 where it is glued to the tube. The membrane 3 may be perforated if necessary, to ease the tear and ensure it tears along the tube wall 5. As the string or tab 1 is pulled out of the tube 5, more of the membrane 3 is torn and collapses downward by the force of gravity and the substance it was holding back. When the entire string or tab 1 has been pulled out, a short section of the membrane 3 remains connected to the tube 5, which prevents the membrane 3 from dropping out with the food substance. This is similar to a pack of gum and how a string or tab is used to tear open the cellophane wrapper.

The inventor would also like to include a version of the present invention with the spoon head/face turning into creamer or a sugar substance and dissolving into the coffee as well. Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.

Claims

1. A dispensing device comprising a handle, wherein that handle is a hollow tube capped at the top and sealed at the bottom, with a spoon head connected at the bottom of the handle.

2. The dispensing device of claim 1, wherein said device includes any number of segments inside the hollow tube where each segment is divided by a membrane.

3. The dispensing device of claim 1, wherein said device includes a pull-tab affixed to each dividing membrane inside the tube, and exiting the tube to the outside, via a small hole in the side of the tube.

4. The dispensing device of claim 1, wherein the handle portion of said device is composed of any solidified food-based substance that is capable of dissolving into a liquid or container.

5. The dispensing device of claim 1, wherein the spoon portion of said device is composed of any solidified food-based substance that is capable of dissolving into a liquid or container.

6. The dispensing device of claim 1, wherein the spoon head portion of said device can detach as it dissolves, delivering a consumable product into another substance or container.

7. The dispensing device of claim 1, wherein the membrane at the base of the tube can be perforated to allow for easier dispensing of any liquid, gel, lotion, powder, seasoning, medication or food product.

8. The dispensing device of claim 1, wherein the membrane at the base of the tube can be punctured to allow for quicker dispensing of any liquid, gel, lotion, powder, seasoning, medication or food product.
