LUGGAGE WITH ANTI-FALLING RETRACTABLE HANDLE
A luggage with anti-falling retractable handle includes a luggage body, two luggage wheels respectively mounted to two opposite lateral sides of the luggage body, and a retractable handle including two outer tubes fixedly mounted in the luggage body, two intermediate tubes respective mounted in the outer tubes and movable into and out of respective top ends of the outer tubes and two support rods respectively connected to respective bottom ends of the intermediate tubes remote from a top side of the luggage body in such a manner that when the intermediate tubes are received in the respective outer tubes, the support rods are extended out of respective opposing bottom ends of the outer tubes and the bottom side of the luggage body to stop against the floor on which the luggage wheels are supported.
The present invention relates to luggage technology and more particularly, to a luggage with anti-falling retractable handle which greatly increases the support distance between the front and back sides of the luggage body to prevent the luggage from falling down when the luggage is positioned in an erected position.
2. Description of the Related ArtAt the bottom of the luggage, wheels are installed so that the luggage can be easily pushed or pulled by the user. At the present, most luggage wheels are small diameter wheels to avoid increasing the overall size of the luggage. However, when moving on an uneven road surface (such as cracked or gravel ground), small diameter wheels can get stuck. Further, when carrying a luggage up or down stairs, the user needs to lift the luggage from stairs and to move the luggage by hand.
When a luggage is equipped with large diameter wheels, the luggage can be conveniently moved on an uneven road surface or stairs, however, the overall size of the luggage will increase, and the support point will be close to the inner side of the luggage body, making the luggage easy to fall down and not convenient for storage.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is therefore the main object of the present invention to provide a luggage with anti-falling retractable handle, which greatly increases the support distance between the front and back sides of the luggage body to prevent the luggage from falling down when it is positioned in an erected position.
To achieve this and other objects of the present invention, a luggage comprises a luggage body, two luggage wheels respectively mounted to two opposite lateral sides of the luggage body, and a retractable handle mounted in a back side of the luggage body. The retractable handle comprises two outer tubes fixedly mounted in the luggage body, two intermediate tubes respective mounted in the outer tubes and movable into and out of respective top ends of the outer tubes, and two support rods respectively connected to respective bottom ends of the intermediate tubes remote from the top side of the luggage body in such a manner that when the intermediate tubes are received in the respective outer tubes, the support rods are extended out of the respective opposing bottom ends of the outer tubes and the bottom side of the luggage body to stop against the floor on which the luggage wheels are supported.
Referring to
The luggage body 1 consists of a back panel 11, a front panel 12, a bottom panel 13, a top panel 14 and two opposing side panels 15. Further, the luggage body 1 comprises a giving-away surface 16 located on the junction between the bottom panel 13 and the back panel 11 and inwardly recessed toward the inside of the luggage body 1, a locating groove 151 located on each side panel 15 between the back panel 11 and the bottom panel 13 near the giving-away surface 16, and two position-limiting holes 17 cut through the giving-away surface 16 and the top panel 14. In this embodiment, the giving-away surface 16 is circularly arched.
The luggage wheels 2 each comprise a comprising a wheel holder 21 and a tire 22 pivotally mounted on the wheel holder 21. The wheel holder 21 is fixedly mounted the locating groove 151 on one side panel 15 of the luggage body 1 such that the tire 22 peripherally and partially protrudes over the giving-away surface 16 for moving on an uneven road surface or stairs.
The retractable handle 3 comprises two outer tube 31, two intermediate tubes 32, two inner tubes 33, a grip 34 and two support rods 35. The two outer tubes 31 are respectively mounted in the two position-limiting holes 17 of the luggage body 1 and affixed to the back panel 11. The two intermediate tubes 32 are respectively and axially slidably mounted in the outer tubes 31. The two inner tubes 33 are respectively and axially slidably mounted in the intermediate tube 32. The grip 34 is connected between respective one ends of the inner tubes 33 and disposed outside the intermediate tubes 32 and the outer tubes 31. Thus, the user can operate the grip 34 to move the intermediate tubes 32 and the inner tubes 33 into or out of the outer tubes 31. The support rods 35 are respectively connected to respective inner ends of the intermediate tubes 32 remote from the top panel 14 of the luggage body 1. Each outer tube 31 comprises a first locating hole 311 and a second locating hole 312 respectively disposed near two opposite ends thereof. Each intermediate tube 32 comprises a locating block 38 fixedly mounted therein, a spring member 37 transversely mounted in the locating block 38, and a lock pin 36 supported on the spring member 37 and transversely movable in and out of the intermediate tube 32. When the intermediate tube 32 is extended out of the outer tube 31, the lock pin 36 is engaged into the first locating hole 311 of the respective outer tube 31. On the contrary, when the intermediate tube 32 is received in the respective outer tube 31, the lock pin 36 is engaged into the second locating hole 312 of the respective outer tube 31 and the support rod 35 is extended out of a bottom end of the respective outer tube 31.
