Abstract

A chaga mushroom chew composition including a tobacco alternative having a mixture of mushrooms from the chaga mushroom-species and additives creating a smokeless tobacco-like composition. The chaga mushroom chew composition provides a healthy substitute for chewing tobacco, the composition capable of being absorbed orally providing health benefits to a user. The tobacco alternative is used to provide a product that has the same look and feel as tobacco.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The following includes information that may be useful in understanding the present disclosure. It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art nor material to the presently described or claimed inventions, nor that any publication or document that is specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.

1. FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates generally to the field of mushroom compositions and more specifically relates to a healthy alternative to a tobacco chew.

2. DESCRIPTION OF RELATED ART

Chewing tobacco is a type of smokeless tobacco product consumed by placing a portion of the tobacco between the cheek and gum or upper lip teeth and chewing. Unlike dipping tobacco, it is not ground and must be manually crushed with the teeth to release flavor and nicotine. Unwanted juices are then expectorated. Oral and spit tobacco increase the risk for leukoplakia, a precursor to oral cancer. Chewing tobacco has been known to cause cancer, particularly of the mouth and throat. A suitable alternative is desired.

U.S. Pub. No. 2011/0189220 to Peiying Yang relates to a mushroom compositions and methods for making and using. The described mushroom compositions and methods for making and using includes novel mushroom composition and methods for making and using the same; in one aspect, the subject matter involves a composition comprising a combination of mushrooms or components derived from mushrooms selected from the group consisting of Reishi Ganoderma lucidum, Reishi Ganoderma lucidum, Cordyceps sinensis, Maitake Grifola frondosa, Shiitake Lentinula edodes, Poria cocos, Lion's Mane Hericium erinaceus, Mesima Phellinus linteus, Turkey Tail Coriolus Tramentes versicolor, Chaga Inonotus obliquus, and Chaga Inonotus obliquus. In some embodiments, the present subject matter relates to methods for modulating immune function, regulating the activity of lipoxygenases and cyclooxygenases, improving cardiovascular health, and/or inhibiting cell proliferation diseases and disorders. In one embodiment the composition provides a balancing of anti-inflammatory and pro-inflammatory function in an animal, including in humans.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known mushroom compositions art, the present disclosure provides a novel chaga mushroom chew composition. The general purpose of the present disclosure, which will be described subsequently in greater detail, is to provide a smokeless tobacco alternative including chaga mushrooms providing numerous health benefits.

A chaga mushroom chew composition is disclosed herein. The chaga mushroom chew composition includes a tobacco alternative comprising a mixture of mushrooms from a mushroom-species and additives creating a smokeless tobacco-like composition. The mushroom-species is a chaga mushroom. The tobacco alternative includes a mixture of all-natural ingredients and is chemical free. The chaga mushroom chew composition provides a healthy substitute for chewing tobacco, the composition capable of being absorbed orally providing health benefits to a user. The tobacco alternative is used to provide a product that has the same look and feel as tobacco.

In one embodiment of the chaga mushroom chew composition, the chaga mushroom chew composition may include the following ingredients: 1 cup of ground chaga mushroom; ¾ cup of apple cider vinegar; ½ cup of finely chopped kale; 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper; 2 teaspoons crushed mint; 4 teaspoons mint extract or 6 drops of oil; 2 teaspoons agave syrup; ¼ cup of molasses; and ¼ cup of dried apple in a crushed condition.

The 1 cup of ground chaga mushroom, ¾ cup of apple cider vinegar, ½ cup of finely chopped kale, 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper, 2 teaspoons crushed mint, 4 teaspoons mint extract or 6 drops of oil, 2 teaspoons agave syrup, ¼ cup of molasses, and ¼ cup of dried apple in a crushed condition are combined as an admixture into a pot and stirred while bringing combined ingredients to a gentle boil for 10-15 minutes until desired texture is achieved.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

As discussed above, embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a mushroom composition and more particularly to a chaga mushroom chew composition providing a healthy substitute for traditional tobacco chew.

Generally, the invention is a healthy alternative to a tobacco chew which is all-natural and good for a user. The tobacco alternative may be made of all-natural ingredients with the main ingredient being Chaga mushrooms which has a multitude of health benefits when consumed. Chaga mushrooms are full of a wide variety of vitamins, and antioxidants and can also help lower cholesterol, blood sugar, and blood pressure. Chaga mushrooms have an abundance of Beta-D-Glucans which help balance the response of the body's immune system. As a result, chaga helps boosts the immune system when necessary, but slows it down when it's overactive. Further, Chaga mushrooms reduce inflammation.

Chaga mushroom chew composition is a tobacco alternative comprising a mixture of mushrooms from a mushroom-species and additives creating a smokeless tobacco-like composition. The mushroom-species is a chaga mushroom. The chaga mushroom chew composition provides a healthy substitute for chewing tobacco, the composition capable of being absorbed orally providing health benefits to a user. The tobacco alternative includes a mixture of all-natural ingredients and is chemical free. The chaga mushroom chew composition further comprises a flavor additive and a natural energy source additive.

The tobacco alternative is provided in a smokeless, loose leaf-like condition and is configured to be placed in a mouth of the user. The loose leaf material is used to provide a product that has the same look and feel as tobacco. Addiction to chewing tobacco is both a physiological addiction to nicotine, as well as a psychological addiction to the act of chewing the chewing tobacco. The invention satisfies this psychological addiction by providing a product that looks and feels and can be chewed and expectorated in the same way as chewing tobacco without the health risks of traditional tobacco. In certain embodiments, the tobacco alternative is provided in a pouch and is configured to be placed in a mouth of the user.

It is another object of the invention to make a chewing tobacco alternative that retains the healthy promoting compounds found in Chaga mushrooms. The tobacco alternative consists essentially of the Chaga mushroom. Chaga mushrooms are rich in a wide variety of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients, including: B-complex vitamins, manganese, magnesium, selenium, vitamin D, potassium, rubidium, cesium, zinc, amino acids, fiber, copper, iron, and calcium. The Chaga mushroom supports a user's immune system when the components are absorbed orally. The tobacco alternative is vitamin and antioxidant enriched and provides numerous additional benefits to a user when consumed. The mixture of mushrooms from the mushroom-species is solely the chaga mushroom. The chaga mushroom is selected to lower cholesterol and blood sugar. Further, the tobacco alternative comprising the chaga mushroom reduces inflammation.

The tobacco alternative includes a moisture content similar to chewing tobacco. Preferably, a moisturizer is added to the loose tobacco alternative to give it the same degree of moisture as chewing tobacco. The moisture content is maintained by a moisturizer, the moisturizer prevents substantial drying out of the chaga mushroom chew composition. Other common additives may be used in the mixture as well to enhance its flavor or smell or to act as a preservative. In a preferred various of the tobacco alternative, nicotine is not included.

Referring now to FIG. 1, a recipe and ingredients list is shown for chaga mushroom chew composition comprising: 1 cup of ground chaga mushroom; ¾ cup of apple cider vinegar; ½ cup of finely chopped kale; 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper; 2 teaspoons crushed mint; 4 teaspoons mint extract or 6 drops of oil; 2 teaspoons agave syrup; ¼ cup of molasses; and ¼ cup of dried apple in a crushed condition.

The embodiments of the invention described herein are exemplary and numerous modifications, variations and rearrangements can be readily envisioned to achieve substantially equivalent results, all of which are intended to be embraced within the spirit and scope of the invention. Further, the purpose of the foregoing abstract is to enable the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the public generally, and especially the scientist, engineers and practitioners in the art who are not familiar with patent or legal terms or phraseology, to determine quickly from a cursory inspection the nature and essence of the technical disclosure of the application.

Claims

1. A chaga mushroom chew composition comprising:

a tobacco alternative comprising a mixture of mushrooms from a mushroom-species and additives creating a smokeless tobacco-like composition;

wherein said mushroom-species is a chaga mushroom; and

wherein said chaga mushroom chew composition provides a healthy substitute for chewing tobacco, said composition capable of being absorbed orally providing health benefits to a user.

2. The chaga mushroom chew composition of claim 1, wherein said tobacco alternative includes a mixture of all-natural ingredients.

3. The chaga mushroom chew composition of claim 1, further comprises a flavor additive.

4. The chaga mushroom chew composition of claim 1, further includes a natural energy source additive.

5. The chaga mushroom chew composition of claim 1, wherein said tobacco alternative is chemical-free.

6. The chaga mushroom chew composition of claim 1, wherein said tobacco alternative is provided in a loose leaf condition and is configured to be placed in a mouth of said user.

7. The chaga mushroom chew composition of claim 1, wherein said tobacco alternative is provided in a pouch and is configured to be placed in a mouth of said user.

8. The chaga mushroom chew composition of claim 1, wherein said tobacco alternative consists essentially of said chaga mushroom.

9. The chaga mushroom chew composition of claim 1, wherein said chaga mushroom supports a user's immune system when said components are absorbed orally.

10. The chaga mushroom chew composition of claim 1, wherein said tobacco alternative is vitamin and antioxidant enriched.

11. The chaga mushroom chew composition of claim 1, wherein said tobacco alternative includes a preservative.

12. The chaga mushroom chew composition of claim 1, wherein said tobacco alternative does not comprise nicotine.

13. The chaga mushroom chew composition of claim 1, wherein said tobacco alternative includes a moisture content similar to chewing tobacco.

14. The chaga mushroom chew composition of claim 13, wherein said moisture content is maintained by a moisturizer, said moisturizer prevents substantial drying out of said chaga mushroom chew composition.

15. The chaga mushroom chew composition of claim 1, wherein said tobacco alternative is smokeless.

16. The chaga mushroom chew composition of claim 1, wherein said mixture of mushrooms from said mushroom-species is solely said chaga mushroom.

17. The chaga mushroom chew composition of claim 1, wherein said chaga mushroom is selected to lower cholesterol and blood sugar.

18. The chaga mushroom chew composition of claim 1, wherein said tobacco alternative comprising said chaga mushroom reduces inflammation.

19. A chaga mushroom chew composition comprising:

a tobacco alternative comprising a mixture of mushrooms from a mushroom-species and additives creating a smokeless tobacco-like composition;

wherein said mixture of mushrooms from said mushroom-species is solely said chaga mushroom;

wherein said tobacco alternative consists essentially of said chaga mushroom;

wherein said chaga mushroom chew composition provides a healthy substitute for chewing tobacco, said composition capable of being absorbed orally providing health benefits to a user;

wherein said tobacco alternative includes a mixture of all-natural ingredients;

wherein said chaga mushroom chew composition further comprises a flavor additive;

wherein said tobacco alternative is chemical-free;

wherein said tobacco alternative is provided in a loose leaf condition and is configured to be placed in a mouth of said user;

wherein said chaga mushroom supports a user's immune system when said components are absorbed orally;

wherein said tobacco alternative is vitamin and antioxidant enriched;

wherein said tobacco alternative includes a preservative;

wherein said tobacco alternative does not comprise nicotine;

wherein said tobacco alternative includes a moisture content similar to chewing tobacco;

wherein said moisture content is maintained by a moisturizer, said moisturizer prevents substantial drying out of said chaga mushroom chew composition;

wherein said tobacco alternative is smokeless;

wherein said chaga mushroom is selected to lower cholesterol and blood sugar; and

20. A chaga mushroom chew composition comprising:

1 cup of ground chaga mushroom;

¾ cup of apple cider vinegar;

½ cup of finely chopped kale;

2 teaspoons cayenne pepper;

2 teaspoons crushed mint;

4 teaspoons mint extract or 6 drops of oil;

2 teaspoons agave syrup;

¼ cup of molasses; and

¼ cup of dried apple in a crushed condition; and
