Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Technical Field

The present invention relates generally to an engaging member and an attachable bag having the same, and more particularly to an engaging member for connecting a bag body to a wearable object in various ways, and an attachable bag with the engaging member.

Description of Related Art

Wearable objects such as backpacks or bumbags allow users to carry a variety of items with them. However, the backpack or the bumbag has a certain capacity, so that the user has to carry more backpacks or bumbags for carrying more objects. Carrying multiple independent backpacks or bumbags are inconvenient for the user. In addition, a size of a backpack is too large for some items. When such items are placed in the backpack, it is difficult for the user to retrieve the items.

Therefore, some manufacturers in the industry have developed a technology that allows a smaller handbag being attached to a backpack. A conventional wearable object such as backpack is provided with a ring on an exterior surface, and a smaller handbag is also provided with a ring, so that the handbag could be attached to the backpack by a retaining clip which passes through the ring of the backpack and the ring of the handbag, whereby to provide more receiving space. Also, small items can be placed in the handbag for easily retrieving. In this way, the user should wear only one wearable object, and the total amount of items that user can carry is expanded, which provides a better convenience.

Said small bag and said large wearable object are engaged with each other via the ring and the retaining clip. However, such engagement must dispose a ring on both of the small bag and the large wearable object. In addition, such engagement cannot be applied to a small bag and a large wearable object which have different kinds of engaging structures from each other.

For instance, if a user purchases a handbag and backpack having the same kind of engaging structure, the handbag can be attached to the backpack. However, when the user purchases another backpack having different kinds of engaging structure from that of the handbag, the handbag cannot be attached to the backpack, unless the user additionally purchases another handbag having the same kind of engaging structure with the another backpack, which reduces consumer's desire to buy.

Therefore, there is a need for the manufacturers to develop an attachable bag with a variety of attached forms to solve the aforementioned problems.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram of an attachable bag 1 of an embodiment according to the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a schematic diagram of the attachable bag 1 shown in FIG. 1, showing the attachable bag 1 is in another state of use. As shown in FIG. 1, the attachable bag 1 includes a bag body 10 and an engaging member 12. In practice, the bag body 10 could be a small bag, such as a handbag, a purse, a bumbag, etc., which has an opening and a receiving portion for placing objects. The bag body 10 has an obverse and a reverse 100 opposite to the obverse, wherein the obverse of the bag body 10 could be provided with a zipper or an opening which communicates with the receiving portion, or could also be provided with a decoration or a mark of the attachable bag 1. The engaging member 12 is disposed on the reverse 100 of the attachable bag 1 to enable the attachable bag 1 to be engaged with a wearable object in various ways.

As shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, the engaging member 12 of the current embodiment includes a receiving member 120 and a covering member 122, which are both disposed on the reverse 100 of the bag body 10, wherein the receiving member 120 has a first exterior surface 1200 and a receiving space 1202, and the covering member 122 could cover the first exterior surface 1200 of the receiving member 120. In practice, a material of the engaging member 12 could be the same as or similar to that of the bag body 10 and be flexible. In other words, a user could decide whether to cover the covering member 122 on the first exterior surface 1200 of the receiving member 120. In addition, a size of the receiving space 1202 is enough to receive the covering member 122 therein. The covering member 122 has a second exterior surface 1220 and an interior surface 1222 opposite to the second exterior surface 1220, wherein when the covering member 122 covers the receiving member 120, the interior surface 1222 is in contact with the first exterior surface 1200 of the receiving member 120.

In the current embodiment, a first engaging structure 1204 is formed on the first exterior surface 1200 of the receiving member 120, and a second engaging structure 1224 corresponding to the first engaging structure 1204 is formed on the interior surface 1222 of the covering member 122. In this way, when the covering member 122 covers the first exterior surface 1200 of the receiving member 120, the second engaging structure 1224 on the interior surface 1222 of the covering member 122 could be engaged with the first engaging structure 1204 on the first exterior surface 1200, so that the receiving member 120 could be engaged with the covering member 122. In the current embodiment, the first engaging structure 1204 and the second engaging structure 1224 are respectively a hook fastener and a loop fastener, so that the first engaging structure 1204 and the second engaging structure 1224 could be engaged with each other. However, which of the first engaging structure 1204 and the second engaging structure 1224 is a hook fastener or a loop fastener is not a limitation of the present invention. In other words, the first engaging structure 1204 could be a hook fastener, and the second engaging structure 1224 could be a loop fastener. Alternatively, the first engaging structure 1204 could be a loop fastener, and the second engaging structure 1224 could be a hook fastener. In addition, the first engaging structure 1204 and the second engaging structure 1224 are not limited to be a velcro, but could be any form of fasteners that could be engaged with each other. For instance, the first engaging structure 1204 could be one of a male button and a female button, and the second engaging structure 1224 could be the other.

Additionally, a third engaging structure 1226 is formed on the second exterior surface 1220 of the covering member 122 and is adapted to be engaged with an engaging structure of another object, which enables the attachable bag 1 to be engaged with the another object via the third engaging structure 1226. In practice, the another object could be a wearable object such as a backpack. FIG. 3 is a schematic diagram, showing that the attachable bag 1 of FIG. 1 is connected to a wearable object 2. As shown in FIG. 3, in the current embodiment, the third engaging structure 1226 includes at least one ring which is capable of being passed through by a retaining clip 3, wherein the retaining clip 3 could pass through at least one ring on the wearable object 2. In this way, the third engaging structure 1226 could be engaged with the wearable object 2 via the retaining clip 3, so that the attachable bag 1 is engaged with the wearable object 2. At this time, the first engaging structure 1204 and the second engaging structure 1224 could be engaged with each other, so that the attachable bag 1 could not easily sway when the attachable bag 1 is engaged with the wearable object 2. Moreover, when the first engaging structure 1204 and the second engaging structure 1224 are engaged with each other, the receiving space 1202 is closed, so that the receiving space 1202 could be an additional receiving portion of the attachable bag 1 for receiving the user's items.

As described above, the attachable bag 1 could be engaged with the wearable object 2 in a state that the covering member 122 covers and is engaged with the receiving member 120. At this time, the attachable bag 1 could be engaged with the wearable object 2 via the third engaging structure 1226 on the second exterior surface 1220 of the covering member 122. However, the engagement between the attachable bag 1 and the wearable object 2 is not a limitation of the present invention. FIG. 4 is a schematic diagram of the attachable bag 1 of FIG. 1, showing the attachable bag 1 is in still another state of use, and FIG. 5 is a schematic diagram, showing that the attachable bag 1 of FIG. 4 is connected to a wearable object 4. As shown in FIG. 4, the covering member 122 of the attachable bag 1 is received in the receiving space 1202 of the receiving member 120, so that the second exterior surface 1220 of the covering member 122 and the third engaging structure 1226 are also received in the receiving space 1202.

As shown in FIG. 5, when the attachable bag 1 is in the state shown in FIG. 4, the first exterior surface 1200 of the receiving member 120 does not be in contact with the interior surface 1222 of the covering member 122, so that the first engaging structure 1204 is not engaged with the second engaging structure 1224. At this time, the first engaging structure 1204 of the first exterior surface 1200 is exposed to the outside. The first engaging structure 1204 could be engaged with a corresponding engaging structure on the wearable object 4, so that the attachable bag 1 could be engaged with the wearable object 4. It shall be noted that, in practice, a wearable object could be provided with a plurality of engaging structures corresponding to the first engaging structure 1204 and the third engaging structure 1226, so that the attachable bag 1 could be engaged with different portions of the wearable object in various ways. Alternatively, different wearable objects could be disposed with different engaging structures corresponding to the first engaging structure 1204 or the third engaging structure 1226, so that the attachable bag 1 could be applied to different types of wearable objects.

In the current embodiment, the first engaging structure 1204 could be one of a hook fastener and a loop fastener, and the corresponding engaging structure on the wearable object could be the other for being engaged with the first engaging structure 1204. However, the engagement between the attachable bag and the wearable object is not limited to be a velcro. In other embodiments, the first engaging structure 1204 could be other engaging structures, and the engaging structure on the wearable object could be a corresponding engaging structure. For instance, the first engaging structure 1204 could be one of a male button and a female button, and the engaging structure on the wearable object could be the other, whereby the first engaging structure 1204 could be engaged with the engaging structure on the wearable object 4.

In summary, the attachable bag of the present invention could provide the function of various attachment ways via the engaging member disposed on the reverse thereof. More specifically, both of the third engaging structure on the covering member of the engaging member and the first engaging structure on the receiving member could provide an attachable function, whereby the attachable bag could be engaged with the wearable object with different types of engaging structures. In this way, the user only needs to purchase said attachable bag for a variety of wearable objects.

It must be pointed out that the embodiments described above are only some preferred embodiments of the present invention. All equivalent structures which employ the concepts disclosed in this specification and the appended claims should fall within the scope of the present invention.
