Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates generally to the fan field, and more particularly to a fan frame seat and a fan, in which the structure of the frame seat is changed to restrain the vibration.

2. Description of the Related Art

Currently, the information technologies have greatly advanced. Many electronic information dealers have developed various products with higher and higher operation performances. Along with the advance of the information technologies, higher and higher heat dissipation performances are required. It is very popular and a mainstream to use fans to dissipate the heat. However, when the fan operates at high speed, in case the structure of the frame body of the fan cannot resist against the aerodynamic force of the fan, the fan will vibrate and make noise. The vibration of the fan will affect the electronic equipment or even seriously damage the electronic equipment.

In order to solve the above problem, some manufacturers have improved the structure of the fan frame seat of the fan. Please refer to FIGS.1A and 1B. FIG. 1A is a perspective view of a conventional fan frame. FIG. 1B is a perspective view of another conventional fan frame. Outward raised ribs 102 are formed on the bottom face 101 of the frame seat 10. The raised ribs 102 can be radially or annularly arranged (according to the configuration of the fan). However, the formation of the raised ribs 102 on the frame seat 10 for reinforcing the frame seat 10 leads to the following problems:

    • 1. The increased mass is extremely small so that the extent to which the vibration energy is reduced is quite limited.
    • 2. The raised ribs 102 can be only formed on some specific knot points so that the raised ribs 102 can hardly help in reducing the vibration.
    • 3. More materials are used so that the weight is increased and the cost is also increased.
    • 4. More materials are used so that the volume is increased.

It is therefore tried by the applicant to provide a fan frame seat and a fan thereof to solve the above problems existing in the conventional fans.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is therefore a primary object of the present invention to provide a fan frame seat, in which the configuration of the frame seat is changed to reinforce the entire structure and enhance the damping effect.

It is a further object of the present invention to provide a fan, in which the configuration of the frame seat is changed to enhance the damping effect so as to absorb the vibration created when the rotor assembly rotates.

To achieve the above and other objects, the fan frame seat of the present invention includes: a main body having a first open face and a second open face, a base seat being disposed on the second open face; and at least one recess formed on the second open face and positioned in the base seat.

The fan of the present invention includes a frame seat, a stator assembly and a rotor assembly. The frame seat includes a main body having a first open face and a second open face. A base seat is disposed on the second open face. A bearing cup is disposed on the base seat. At least one recess is formed on the second open face and positioned in the base seat. The stator assembly is fitted around the bearing cup. The rotor assembly is inserted in the bearing cup corresponding to the stator assembly.

According to the above structure, the recess is designed in accordance with the vibration mode of the fan frame body. The recess changes the structural features of the frame seat. The recess serves as a self-controlled damper for restraining or absorbing the energy of the fundamental frequency. Therefore, the fan frame seat can bear greater shaft top pressure and have higher bending resistance and shear resistance. Also, the cost of the fan is lowered.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Please refer to FIGS. 2A and 2B. FIG. 2A is a perspective view of a first embodiment of the fan frame seat of the present invention. FIG. 2B is a sectional view of the first embodiment of the fan frame seat of the present invention. According to the first embodiment, the fan frame seat of the present invention includes a main body 21 having a first open face 211 and a second open face 212. The first and second open faces 211, 212 are respectively positioned on two opposite sides of the main body 21. A base seat 2121 is disposed on the second open face 212 and formed with at least one recess 2122. The recess 2122 is positioned in the base seat 2121. A bearing cup 2123 is disposed on the base seat 2121. The bearing cup 2123 has a first end 2123a and a second end 2123b. The first end 2123a extends toward the first open face 211. The second end 2123b extends toward the second open face 212 to connect with the base seat 2121. Each of the first and second ends 2123a, 2123b of the bearing cup 2123 has an opening.

The first open face 211 is positioned on a first reference face DP1. The second open face 212 is positioned on a second reference face DP2. The base seat 2121 is positioned between the first reference face DP1 and the second reference face DP2.

To speak in short, the second open face 212 (the bottom face) of the main body 21 is formed with the recess 21222 to change the configuration of the main body 21 so as to change the features of the structure.

Moreover, the formation of the recess 2122 can be started from the parts of the static blades or the connection arms. This further makes the base seat 2121 and the second open face 212 positioned on different plane faces to create different structural features.

In addition, the manufacturing of the recess 2122 will not lead to any change, (for example, become thinner) of the material thickness of the base seat 2121 of the present invention. Therefore, a uniform damping effect can be kept and the structural strength of the entire fan frame seat can be ensured.

Please now refer to FIGS. 3A, 3B, 3C and 3D. FIG. 3A is a sectional view of a second embodiment of the fan frame seat of the present invention. FIG. 3B is a sectional view of a third embodiment of the fan frame seat of the present invention. FIG. 3C is a sectional view of a fourth embodiment of the fan frame seat of the present invention. FIG. 3D is a sectional view of a fifth embodiment of the fan frame seat of the present invention. Also referring to FIG. 2B, in the first embodiment, the recess 2122 has a semicircular configuration. However, the configuration of the recess 2122 is not limited. For example, in the second embodiment, the recess 2122 alternatively has a triangular configuration (as shown in FIG. 3A). In the third embodiment, the recess 2122 alternatively has a trapezoidal configuration (as shown in FIG. 3B). In the fourth embodiment, the recess 2122 alternatively has a flat circular configuration (as shown in FIG. 3C). In the fifth embodiment, the recess 2122 alternatively has a double-elliptic configuration (as shown in FIG. 3D). Different configurations of recesses 2122 result in different structural features. In addition, the number and size of the recesses 2122 are not limited. In the case there are two recesses 2122, the sizes of the two recesses 2122 can be equal or unequal to each other.

Please now refer to FIGS. 4A, 4B and 4C. FIG. 4A is a perspective exploded view of the fan of the present invention. FIG. 4B is a perspective assembled view of the fan of the present invention. FIG. 4C is a sectional view of the fan of the present invention. Also referring to FIGS. 2A and 2B, the fan 2 of the present invention includes a frame seat main body 21, a stator assembly 22 and a rotor assembly 23. The stator assembly 22 is fitted around the bearing cup 2123. The rotor assembly 23 is inserted in the bearing cup 2123 corresponding to the stator assembly 22. The rotor assembly 23 includes a central shaft 231 and a fan impeller 232. The fan impeller 232 is fixed at one end of the central shaft 231. At least one bearing 24 is disposed in the bearing cup 2123. The central shaft 231 is inserted in the bearing cup 2123 through the bearing 24.

When the stator assembly 22 drives the rotor assembly 23 to rotate, the aerodynamic force generated by the fast rotating fan impeller 232 is transmitted and spread out by way of vibration of the main body 21. The recess 2122 formed on the base seat 2121 changes the structural features of the main body 21 so as to provide a restraining effect against the vibration (as the effect provided by a damper). Therefore, the fan can bear higher shaft top pressure, bending force and shear force.

In addition, in the above embodiment, the fan has one single dynamic blade for illustration purposes. However, the technical features of the present invention are applicable to various fans such as dynamic/static blade fan, axial-flow fan with double dynamic blades, single-side-air-draft fan, double-side-air-draft-fan, multiple-side-air-draft-fan and centrifugal fan.

In conclusion, the present invention has the following advantages:

    • 1. The additional damping member is saved so that the cost is lowered.
    • 2. The vibration of the fan is restrained.
    • 3. The fan has good shaft top pressure resistance, bending resistance and shear resistance.

The present invention has been described with the above embodiments thereof and it is understood that many changes and modifications in such as the form or layout pattern or practicing step of the above embodiments can be carried out without departing from the scope and the spirit of the invention that is intended to be limited only by the appended claims.
