A waterbed frame assembly for rolling a waterbed on a surface includes a box that defines an interior space. The box has a top that is open so that the top is configured to insert a waterbed mattress into the interior space. A frame is coupled to a bottom of the box. The frame comprises a plurality of interconnected crossbeams so that the frame is gridded. The frame comprises metal. A plurality of rollers is coupled to the frame. The rollers are opposingly positioned on the frame relative to the box. The rollers are configured to facilitate locomotion of the box on a surface.

The disclosure and prior art relates to frame assemblies and more particularly pertains to a new frame assembly for rolling a waterbed on a surface.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a box that defines an interior space. The box has a top that is open so that the top is configured to insert a waterbed mattress into the interior space. A frame is coupled to a bottom of the box. The frame comprises a plurality of interconnected crossbeams so that the frame is gridded. The frame comprises metal. A plurality of rollers is coupled to the frame. The rollers are opposingly positioned on the frame relative to the box. The rollers are configured to facilitate locomotion of the box on a surface.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new frame assembly embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 4, the waterbed frame assembly 10 generally comprises a box 12 that defines an interior space 14. The box 12 has a top 16 that is open so that the top 16 is configured to insert a waterbed mattress into the interior space 14.

A frame 18 is coupled to a bottom 24 of the box 12, as shown in FIG. 1. The frame 18 comprises a plurality of interconnected crossbeams 50 so that the frame 18 is gridded. The frame 18 comprises metal. The frame 18 comprises a plurality of first beams 20 and a plurality of second beams 22. Each first beam 20 is coupled to and extends between a perimeter 26 of the bottom 24. Each first beam 20 is positioned at forty-five degrees to opposing ends 28 and opposing sides 30 of the box 12. Each second beam 22 is coupled to and extends between the perimeter 26 of the bottom 24. The second beam 22 is perpendicular to each of the first beams 20. Each second beam 22 is coplanar with and is coupled to associated first beams 20 to define a plurality of intersections 32.

A plurality of rollers 34 is coupled to the frame 18. The rollers 34 are opposingly positioned on the frame 18 relative to the box 12, as shown in FIG. 2. Each roller 34 comprises a castor 36. The rollers 34 are configured to facilitate locomotion of the box 12 on a surface, such as a floor of a bedroom.

The plurality of rollers 34 comprises a first set 38 and a second set 40. The rollers 34 of the first set 38 are positioned singly at each intersection 32 that is proximate to the perimeter 26 of the bottom 24, as shown in FIG. 1. The rollers 34 of the second set 40 are positioned singly on alternating intersections 32 so that the rollers 34 of the second set 40 are positioned in a set of rows 42. Each row 42 extends from proximate to the opposing sides 30 of the box 12.

The first set 38 comprises four corner rollers 44 that are positioned singly at each corner 46 of the bottom 24. Each corner roller 44 comprises a lock 48, as shown in FIG. 4. The lock 48 is positioned to selectively lock the corner roller 44 so that the corner roller 44 is configured to resist locomotion of the box 12 along the surface.

In use, the locks 48 on the corner rollers 44 are disengaged to allow a user to position the box 12 in a desired location. The locks 48 then are engaged, positioning the corner rollers 44 to resist movement of the box 12 along the surface.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.

Claims

1. A waterbed frame assembly comprising:

a box defining an interior space, the box having a top, the top being open wherein the top is configured for inserting a waterbed mattress into the interior space;
a frame coupled to a bottom of the box, the frame comprising a plurality of interconnected crossbeams such that the frame is gridded, the frame comprising metal; and
a plurality of rollers coupled to the frame such that the rollers are opposingly positioned on the frame relative to the box wherein the rollers are configured for facilitating locomoting of the box on a surface.

2. The assembly of claim 1, further including the frame comprising:

a plurality of first beams, each first beam being coupled to and extending between a perimeter of the bottom; and
a plurality of second beams, each second beam being coupled to and extending between the perimeter of the bottom such that the second beam is perpendicular to each of the first beams, each second beam being coplanar with and coupled to associated first beams defining a plurality of intersections.

3. The assembly of claim 2, further including each first beam being positioned at forty-five degrees to opposing ends and opposing sides of the box.

4. The assembly of claim 1, further including each roller comprising a castor.

5. The assembly of claim 2, further including the plurality of rollers comprising a first set and a second set, the rollers of the first set being positioned singly at each intersection proximate to the perimeter of the bottom, the rollers of the second set being positioned singly on alternating intersections such that the rollers of the second set are positioned in a set of rows, each row extending from proximate to opposing sides of the box.

The assembly of claim 5, further including the first set comprising four corner rollers positioned singly at each corner of the bottom, each corner roller comprising a lock, the lock being positioned for selectively locking the corner roller wherein the corner roller is configured for resisting locomoting of the box along the surface.

7. A waterbed frame assembly comprising:

a box defining an interior space, the box having a top, the top being open wherein the top is configured for inserting a waterbed mattress into the interior space;
a frame coupled to a bottom of the box, the frame comprising a plurality of interconnected crossbeams such that the frame is gridded, the frame comprising metal, the frame comprising: a plurality of first beams, each first beam being coupled to and extending between a perimeter of the bottom, each first beam being positioned at forty-five degrees to opposing ends and opposing sides of the box, and a plurality of second beams, each second beam being coupled to and extending between the perimeter of the bottom such that the second beam is perpendicular to each of the first beams, each second beam being coplanar with and coupled to associated first beams defining a plurality of intersections; and
a plurality of rollers coupled to the frame such that the rollers are opposingly positioned on the frame relative to the box wherein the rollers are configured for facilitating locomoting of the box on a surface, each roller comprising a castor, the plurality of rollers comprising a first set and a second set, the rollers of the first set being positioned singly at each intersection proximate to the perimeter of the bottom, the rollers of the second set being positioned singly on alternating intersections such that the rollers of the second set are positioned in a set of rows, each row extending from proximate to the opposing sides of the box, the first set comprising four corner rollers positioned singly at each corner of the bottom, each corner roller comprising a lock, the lock being positioned for selectively locking the corner roller wherein the corner roller is configured for resisting locomoting of the box along the surface.
