Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Field of Invention

The present invention relates to a comforter that includes outlets for a user's legs.

Description of Related Art

A comforter is a common bed covering that is typically used in conjunction with bed sheets for a user's comfortable relaxation. The bed comforter usually is large enough to fit over and lap over the edge of a mattress. This design provides a complete covering for the user of the comforter. Although comforters are primarily used on bed mattresses comforters are sometimes used for covering in other situations. When used on a bed mattress a user may occasionally open a side or fold over one side of the comforter to allow the extension of their leg or limb for cooling purposes or otherwise. The present comforters are usually designed to extend over the edge of the mattress. It is necessary that the user apply this technique to allow the extension of a leg while sleeping or resting under the comforter. It is the object of the present invention to provide a comforter that includes outlets or openings that permit the extension of a user's foot and/or leg outside of a comforter.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a comforter with leg outlets that include: a first top opening at a foot end of the comforter; and a second top opening, where the second top opening is adjacent to the first top opening at the foot end of the comforter. The first opening and second opening are preferably elongated. A second embodiment of the comforter includes a first side opening on a first side of the comforter; and a second side opening on a second side of the comforter. The first side opening and second side opening are also preferably elongated.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 depicts a first embodiment of a comforter in accordance with the present invention.

FIG. 2 depicts a second embodiment of the comforter in accordance with the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The present invention relates to a comforter that has leg outlets in the form of openings to provide a means for a user to extend their foot or leg from under the comforter. These openings may be positioned in two alternative locations as contemplated by the present invention.

In reference to FIG. 1, a comforter 52 is depicted providing a first embodiment of the present invention. Under this first embodiment, a first top opening 30 and a second top opening 32 are shown along the top surface of comforter 52. The comforter 52 is shown spread over a bed mattress and extends over the edges as is common with comforters of the prior art. In this particular embodiment, comforter 52 includes the first top opening 30 and second top opening 32 at the foot end of the comforter 52. The positioning of the openings allow a user to extend their feet and/or a portion of their leg from under the comforter 52 exposing their feet/leg portion to air.

In reference to FIG. 2, a comforter 50 is shown. The comforter 50 provides a second embodiment of the present invention that includes side openings to allow for the extension of a user's leg and foot. A first side opening 20 is depicted on a first side of comforter 50 and a second side opening 22 on a second side is also shown. The openings of either comforter embodiment enable a user to extend their foot or leg from under the comforter but additionally these openings may not be used by the user if they desire to remain under the comforter.

The foregoing descriptions of specific embodiments of the present invention have been presented for purposes of illustration and description. They are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise forms disclosed, and obviously many modifications and variations are possible in light of the above teaching.
