BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION (1) Field of the Invention (2) Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed Under 37 CFR 1.97 and 1.98The disclosure and prior art relates to dispensing devices and more particularly pertains to a new dispensing device for dispensing towelettes and receiving the towelettes when the towelettes are discarded.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONAn embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a first housing that may be coupled to a vertical support surface. The first housing has a container of towelettes positioned therein and the towelettes are selectively removed from the first housing for washing hands. A first drawer is hingedly coupled to the first housing to close the first housing. A second housing is provided and the second housing may be coupled to the vertical support surface. Moreover, the second housing is attached to the first housing having the second housing being spaced downwardly from the first housing. The second housing has a garbage opening extending therein to receive the towelettes when the towelettes have been used for washing hands. A second drawer is hingedly coupled to the second housing to close the second housing.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
The first housing 12 has a bottom wall 18 and an outer wall 20 extending upwardly therefrom. Additionally, the outer wall 20 has a front side 26 and a back side 28, and the bottom wall 18 slopes downwardly between the front side 26 and the back side 28. The bottom wall 18 has an aperture 30 extending into an interior of the housing wherein and the towelettes 16 are selectively drawn outwardly from the aperture 30. The front side 26 has a first opening 31 extending therethrough into an interior of said first housing 12.
A first drawer 32 is pivotally coupled to the first housing 12, the first drawer is positioned in the first opening 31 and the container of towelettes is positioned in the first drawer 32. The first opening 31 has a bounding edge 33 and the first drawer 32 has a bottom edge 34. The bottom edge 34 of the first drawer 32 is hingedly coupled to the bounding edge 33 of the first opening 31. The first drawer 32 has a lower wall 35 and the lower wall 35 has an aperture 36 extending into the first drawer 32. The aperture 36 in the lower wall 35 is aligned with the aperture 30 in the bottom wall 18 of the first housing 12 when the first drawer is closed. In this way towelettes 16 that are positioned in the first drawer 32 can be dispensed through the first housing 12.
A second housing 40 is provided and the second housing 40 may be coupled to the vertical support surface 14. Additionally, the second housing 40 is attached to the first housing 12 having the second housing 40 being spaced downwardly from the first housing 12. The second housing 40 has a garbage opening 42 extending therein for receiving the towelettes 16 when the towelettes 16 have been used for washing hands. A garbage can, a garbage bag and any other garbage container may be positioned in the second housing 40 to contain the discarded towelettes 16.
The second housing 40 has a rear wall 44 and an outside wall 46 extending forwardly therefrom. The outside wall 46 has a distal edge 48 with respect to the rear wall 44 to define a second opening 50 into the second housing 40 and the rear wall 44 may be attached to the vertical support surface 14. The outside wall 46 has a top side 52 and the top side 52 is aligned with the bottom wall 18 of the first housing 12. Moreover, the top side 52 slopes downwardly between the rear wall 44 and the distal edge 48 corresponding to the second housing 40. The garbage opening 42 extends through the top side 52 such that the garbage opening 42 is aligned with the aperture 30 in the first housing 12. A panel 54 is coupled to and extends between the bottom wall 18 of the first housing 12 and the top side 52 of the outside wall 46 of the second housing 40. Moreover, the panel 54 is aligned with the back side 28 of the outer wall 20 of the first housing 12 and the rear wall 44 of the second housing 40.
A second drawer 56 is hingedly coupled to the second housing 40 and the second drawer 56 has a back surface 58, a top surface 59 and a peripheral edge 60. The peripheral edge 60 of the second drawer 56 is hingedly coupled to the distal edge 48 of the outside wall 46 of the second housing 40. Moreover, the second drawer 56 is tiltable forwardly in the second opening 50 in the second housing 40. The top surface 59 has a hole 64 extending into an interior of the second drawer and the hole 64 is aligned with the garbage opening 42 when the second drawer is closed. Thus, the second drawer 56 receives the towelletes 16 when the towelletes 16 are discarded.
Each of the first drawer 32 and the second drawer 56 includes a locking handle 66 that is slidably coupled thereto. The locking handle 66 on each of the first drawer 32 and the second drawer 56 releasably engages the respective first 12 and second 40 housings to retain the first drawer 32 and the second drawer 56 in a closed position. Additionally, each of the first drawer 32 and the second drawer 56 may have indicia printed thereon, such as advertising, a logo and any other indicia.
In use, the first drawer 32 is opened and the container of towelettes 16 is positioned in the first housing 12 such that the towelettes 16 are accessible through the aperture 30 in the first housing 12. The first drawer 32 is closed and the first lock 38 is manipulated to lock the first drawer 32. The towelettes 16 are removed through the aperture 30 for washing hands after using the bathroom. The towelettes 16 are discarded through the garbage aperture 30 in the second housing 40 after washing hands. The second drawer 56 is opened to empty the discarded towelettes 16 from the second housing 40 when the second housing 40 is full.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
