Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The following includes information that may be useful in understanding the present disclosure. It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art nor material to the presently described or claimed inventions, nor that any publication or document that is specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates generally to the field of cosmetics and more specifically relates to cosmetic application devices.

2. Description of Related Art

Cosmetics are substances or products used to enhance or alter the appearance or fragrance of the body. Many cosmetics are designed for use of applying to the face and hair. Common cosmetics include lipstick, mascara, eye shadow, foundation, rouge, skin cleansers and skin lotions, shampoo, hairstyling products (gel, hair spray, etc.), perfume and cologne. Cosmetics applied to the face to enhance its appearance are often called make-up or makeup.

To apply makeup, especially liquid makeup such as foundation, a user will apply the makeup to the back of their hand. The user will then dip their makeup tool of choice into the makeup on their hand and apply to their face. There are, however, many disadvantages to this process. It can be messy, wasteful, and unhygienic as the user is required to wash their hand and makeup may be wasted as not only will the makeup be washed away, but some may be absorbed into the hand during application. Thus, a suitable solution is desired.

U.S. Pat. No. 6,528,154 to Yuichi Yamato relates to a makeup sponge puff. The described makeup sponge puff includes a makeup sponge puff of less frictional resistance and stiffness and no surface slipperiness, particles are adhered to a surface of a substrate sponge of closed-cell foam to form the makeup sponge puff. For example, the substrate sponge comprising is a natural or synthetic rubber, the particles are a thermoplastic resin, synthetic rubber or a thermosetting resin, and the particles are adhered by an adhesive layer on the surface of the substrate sponge.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the beauty blender system of FIG. 1, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the beauty blender system of FIG. 1, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the beauty blender system of FIG. 1, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

FIG. 5 is a flow diagram illustrating a method of applying makeup using the beauty blender system, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

The various embodiments of the present invention will hereinafter be described in conjunction with the appended drawings, wherein like designations denote like elements.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

As discussed above, embodiments of the present disclosure relate to cosmetics and more particularly to a beauty blender system as used to improve the application of makeup and cosmetic products.

Generally, the present invention a combination of silicone and sponge to create an all in one beauty blender. One side is a sponge and the opposing side is silicone. A user can first apply foundation with the silicone side. The silicone does not absorb the foundation thus, less foundation is used. The sponge side may be used for lighter application. The silicone provides a matte application look and the sponge provides a dewy look. The sponge and silicone sides may be used in combination to achieve a desired look when applying makeup or other cosmetic products.

Referring now more specifically to the drawings by numerals of reference, there is shown in FIGS. 1-4, various views of a beauty blender system 100. FIG. 1 shows a beauty blender system 100 during an ‘in-use’ condition 150, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As illustrated, the beauty blender system 100 may include a cosmetic application device 110 having a first-application-surface 120, and a second-application-surface 130. The first-application-surface 120 and the second-application-surface 130 oppose one another and define the cosmetic application device 110. The first-application-surface 120 is a sponge and the second-application-surface 130 comprises silicone. The first-application-surface 120 and the second-application-surface 130 are configured to be used in combination for application of cosmetic products 10.

FIG. 2 shows a perspective view of the beauty blender system 100 of FIG. 1, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As above, the beauty blender system 100 may include the cosmetic application device 110 having the first-application-surface 120 and the second-application-surface 130. The first-application-surface 120 and the second-application-surface are joined and form a single unit. The first-application-surface 120 is semi-absorbent allowing for light application of makeup using the sponge to create a desired dewy look. The second-application-surface 130 is not absorbent and is configured for application of a thick concentration of makeup. When a user applies a liquid foundation or other cosmetic product 10 to the second-application-surface 130 (silicone), the product 10 does not absorb into the silicone. Alternatively, when a user applies a cosmetic product 10 to the first-application-surface 120 (sponge/foam), a small amount of the product 10 is absorbed and a user can apply a lighter amount of the product 10 to his or her skin.

Referring now to FIG. 3-4 showing perspective views of the beauty blender system 100 of FIG. 1, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As above, the beauty blender system 100 may include the hand-held cosmetic application device 110 which may be used to apply makeup such as liquid foundation. The cosmetic application device 110 includes the first-application-surface 120 and the second-application-surface 130 which form a thickness. In a preferred embodiment, the sponge of the first-application-surface 120 has a wedge profile. The sponge comprises a foam material which may be either synthetic or non-synthetic. The cosmetic application device 110 is configured to evenly distribute the cosmetic products 10 on a skin surface and for blending the cosmetic products 10. The first-application-surface 120 may be used for light application of makeup using the sponge and the second-application-surface 130 is configured for application of a thick concentration of makeup. Further, the cosmetic application device 110 is preferably reusable.

FIG. 5 is a flow diagram illustrating a method of applying makeup 500 using the beauty blender system 100, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. In particular, the method for method of applying makeup 500 may include one or more components or features of the beauty blender system 100 as described above. As illustrated, the method for applying makeup 500 may include the steps of: step one 501, providing a cosmetic application device 110; step two 502, applying a cosmetic product 10 to the second-application-surface 130; step three 503, applying the cosmetic product 10 to a skin surface; step four 504, blending the cosmetic product 10 using the first-application-surface 120; and step five 505, applying a cosmetic product 10 to the first-application-surface 120.

It should be noted that step five 505 is an optional step and may not be implemented in all cases. Optional steps of method of use 500 are illustrated using dotted lines in FIG. 5 so as to distinguish them from the other steps of method of use 500. It should also be noted that the steps described in the method of use can be carried out in many different orders according to user preference. The use of “step of” should not be interpreted as “step for”, in the claims herein and is not intended to invoke the provisions of 35 U.S.C. § 112(f). It should also be noted that, under appropriate circumstances, considering such issues as design preference, user preferences, marketing preferences, cost, structural requirements, available materials, technological advances, etc., other methods for applying makeup, are taught herein.

The embodiments of the invention described herein are exemplary and numerous modifications, variations and rearrangements can be readily envisioned to achieve substantially equivalent results, all of which are intended to be embraced within the spirit and scope of the invention. Further, the purpose of the foregoing abstract is to enable the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the public generally, and especially the scientist, engineers and practitioners in the art who are not familiar with patent or legal terms or phraseology, to determine quickly from a cursory inspection the nature and essence of the technical disclosure of the application.
