A multiple opening rolling luggage bag for improved access to luggage contents includes a suitcase body having a front side, a rear side, a right side, a left side, a top side, a bottom side, and a storage cavity. The front side has a first access aperture and the rear side has a second access aperture to the storage cavity. A front lid is attached to the front side and has a first closure mechanism to seal and unseal the first access aperture. A rear lid is attached to the rear side and has a second closure mechanism to seal and unseal the second access aperture. A pair of handle receptacles is attached to the rear side. A handle is slidingly engageable within a post aperture of each of the pair of handle receptacles. A plurality of wheels is attached to the bottom side of the suitcase body.

The disclosure and prior art relates to rolling luggage bags and more particularly pertains to a new rolling luggage bag for improved access to luggage contents with a first access aperture on a front side of the luggage bag and a second access aperture on a rear side of the luggage bag.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a parallelepiped suitcase body having a front side separated from a rear side, a right side separated from a left side, and a top side separated from a bottom side. The rear side has a right edge adjacent the right side and a left edge adjacent the left side. The suitcase body has a storage cavity between the front side, the rear side, the top side, the bottom side, the right side, and the left side. The front side has a first access aperture and the rear side has a second access aperture, and each of the first and second access apertures extends through the suitcase body to the storage cavity therein. A front lid is attached to the front side of the suitcase body and has a first closure mechanism. The first closure mechanism alternately seals and unseals the front lid over the first access aperture. A rear lid is attached to the rear side of the suitcase body and has a second closure mechanism. The second closure mechanism alternately seals and unseals the rear lid over the second access aperture. A pair of handle receptacles comprises a right handle receptacle and a left handle receptacle, each having a post aperture extending from a top face to proximal a bottom face. Each of the pair of handle receptacles is attached to the rear side of the suitcase body. A handle has a right post, a left post, and a cross bar perpendicularly disposed between each of the right and left posts. Each of the right and left posts is slidingly engageable within the post aperture of each of the right and left handle receptacles, respectively. A plurality of wheels is attached to the bottom side of the suitcase body.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

 DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new rolling luggage bag embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the multiple opening rolling luggage bag 10 generally comprises a parallelepiped suitcase body 12 having a front side 14 separated from a rear side 16, a right side 18 separated from a left side 20, and a top side 22 separated from a bottom side 24. The rear side 16 has a right edge 26 adjacent the right side 18 and a left edge 28 adjacent the left side 20. The suitcase body 12 has a storage cavity 30 between the front side, the rear side, the top side, the bottom side, the right side, and the left side. The front side 14 has a first access aperture 32 and the rear side 16 has a second access aperture 34, and each of the first and second access apertures extends through the suitcase body 12 to the storage cavity 30 therein. A front lid 36 is attached to the front side of the suitcase body and has a first closure mechanism 38 to alternately seal and unseal the front lid over the first access aperture 32. A rear lid 40 is attached to the rear side of the suitcase body and has a second closure mechanism 42 to alternately seal and unseal the rear lid over the second access aperture 34. The first and second closure mechanisms may be a zipper 44. The first access aperture 32 may expand the entirety of the front side of the suitcase body 12 so as to maximize access to the storage cavity. The second access aperture 34 is inset from the right edge 26 and the left edge 28 of the rear side 16 to leave space for a pair of handle receptacles 52. Each of the front lid 36 and the rear lid 40 may be configured to open towards opposite sides of the suitcase body. Such a configuration allows a user to open the front lid and the rear lid the same way when the desired side is oriented towards the user. A divider wall 46 may be movably positioned within the storage cavity 30 of the suitcase body. The divider wall extends from the left side 20 to the right side 18, and from the top side 22 to the bottom side 24, of the suitcase body. The divider wall is positioned parallel to each of the front side 14 and the rear side 16 and thus divides the storage cavity 30 into a front cavity 48 and a rear cavity 50.

The pair of handle receptacles 52 comprises a right handle receptacle 54 and a left handle receptacle 56, and each of the left and the right handle receptacles has a post aperture 58 extending from a top face 60 to proximal a bottom face 62. Each of the pair of handle receptacles 52 is attached to the rear side 16 of the suitcase body. Each of the right handle receptacle 54 and the left handle receptacle 56 is attached to the right edge 26 and the left edge 28 of the rear side of the suitcase body, respectively. This positioning of the right and left handle receptacles maximizes the size of the second access aperture 34, which is positioned therebetween. Each of the pair of handle receptacles may be a rectangular prism in order to create a base for the suitcase body to rest on when the rear side is placed on the ground. A handle 64 has a right post 66, a left post 68, and a cross bar 70 perpendicularly disposed between each of the right and left posts. The cross bar 70 may be thicker than each of the right post 66 and the left post 68 in order to improve ergonomics and also to act as a stop at the top face 60 of each of the left and right handle receptacles. The handle may be a single construction. Each of the right 66 and left posts 68 is attached within the post aperture 58 of each of the right 54 and left handle receptacles 56, respectively. The handle 64 telescopes from a stored position 72 to an alternate extended position 74. A plurality of wheels 76 is attached to the bottom side 24 of the suitcase body.

In use, the user can access content held within the storage cavity 30 from either the first access aperture 32 in the front side 14 of the suitcase body or the second access aperture 34 in the rear side 16 of the suitcase body. The user can thus access buried content without removing everything from the storage cavity by rotating the luggage bag 10. The user can also position the divider wall to create the front cavity and the rear cavity, each with its own separate access aperture. The contents of the storage cavity may thus be separated, for example by storing dirty clothes in the rear cavity and clean clothes in the front cavity.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.

Claims

1. A multiple opening rolling luggage bag comprising:

a parallelepiped suitcase body, said suitcase body having a front side being separated from a rear side, a right side being separated from a left side, and a top side being separated from a bottom side, the rear side having a right edge adjacent the right side and a left edge adjacent the left side, the suitcase body having a storage cavity between the front side, the rear side, the top side, the bottom side, the right side, and the left side, the front side having a first access aperture and the rear side having a second access aperture, the first and second access apertures each extending through the suitcase body to the storage cavity therein;
a front lid being attached to the front side of the suitcase body, the front lid having a first closure mechanism, the first closure mechanism alternatively sealing and unsealing the front lid over the first access aperture;
a rear lid being attached to the rear side of the suitcase body, the rear lid having a second closure mechanism, the second closure mechanism alternatively sealing and unsealing the rear lid over the second access aperture;
a pair of handle receptacles comprising a right handle receptacle and a left handle receptacle, each of the left handle receptacle and the right handle receptacle having a post aperture extending from a top face to proximal a bottom face, each of the pair of handle receptacles being attached to the rear side of the suitcase body;
a handle having a right post, a left post, and a cross bar, the cross bar being perpendicularly disposed between each of the right and left posts, each of the right and left posts being slidingly engageable within the post aperture of each of the right and left handle receptacles, respectively; and
a plurality of wheels, each of the plurality of wheels being attached to the bottom side of the suitcase body.

2. The multiple opening rolling luggage bag of claim 1, wherein each of the right handle receptacle and the left handle receptacle is attached to the right edge and the left edge of the rear side of the suitcase body, respectively.

3. The multiple opening rolling luggage bag of claim 1 further comprising a divider wall, the divider wall being movably positioned within the storage cavity of the suitcase body, the divider wall extending from the left side to the right side and from the top side to the bottom side of the suitcase body, the divider wall being planarly parallel to each of the front side and the rear side of the suitcase body.

4. The multiple opening rolling luggage bag of claim 2, wherein each of the first closure mechanism and the second closure mechanism is a zipper.

5. A multiple opening rolling luggage bag comprising:

a parallelepiped suitcase body, said suitcase body having a front side being separated from a rear side, a right side being separated from a left side, and a top side being separated from a bottom side, the rear side having a right edge adjacent the right side and a left edge adjacent the left side, the suitcase body having a storage cavity between the front side, the rear side, the top side, the bottom side, the right side, and the left side, the front side having a first access aperture and the rear side having a second access aperture, the first and second access apertures each extending through the suitcase body to the storage cavity therein;
a front lid being attached to the front side of the suitcase body, the front lid having a first closure mechanism, the first closure mechanism alternately sealing and unsealing the front lid over the first access aperture;
a rear lid being attached to the rear side of the suitcase body, the rear lid having a second closure mechanism, the second closure mechanism alternately sealing and unsealing the rear lid over the second access aperture;
a divider wall, the divider wall being movably positioned within the storage cavity of the suitcase body, the divider wall extending from the left side to the right side and from the top side to the bottom side of the suitcase body, the divider wall being planarly parallel to each of the front side and the rear side of the suitcase body;
a pair of handle receptacles comprising a right handle receptacle and a left handle receptacle, each of the left and the right handle receptacles having a post aperture extending from a top face to proximal a bottom face, each of the pair of handle receptacles being attached to the rear side of the suitcase body;
a handle having a right post, a left post, and a cross bar, the cross bar being perpendicularly disposed between each of the right and left posts, each of the right and left posts being slidingly engageable within the post aperture of each of the right and left handle receptacles, respectively; and
a plurality of wheels, each of the plurality of wheels being attached to the bottom side of the suitcase body.
